Japan, like all developed nations, relies upon its electrical grid like a human relies upon their nervous system. So when something moved across the island nation, destroying power plants and causing mass power outages, it was treated like a virus. And when it remained under the radar, seemingly only becoming visible when wreaking havoc, it was treated with fear and apprehension.

Especially when all estimates place it to be heading directly towards the heart itself.

Tokyo’s atmosphere was one of tenseness. The people still walked the streets like they did every day, going about their daily lives, but an undercurrent of fear accompanied every action. It was no secret that something was causing mass destruction, specifically aiming for power plants. If it was a kaiju, and there was little else it could be, Tokyo would be a prime target for it. If it fed off electricity like many had guessed it did, the metropolis would be like a feast laid out for a king.

This is why Hikaru Sakimori sat atop a building, waiting. Lifting up a small communication device, he clicked the button on the side to talk.

“Hotaru, anything to report?” He said, barely suppressing a yawn. He had been up here for the better part of an hour, ready to jump into action should the time come. The JSDF did not want to send the largest city in Japan into a complete panic by deploying squadrons of tanks and soldiers. So, they called in a special agent.

“Nothing yet. Sorry,” her voice came through, accompanied by the static of the device. “We haven’t seen hide nor hair of this thing.”

She was far away from her older brother, accompanied by other agents of the Japanese government and military as they stayed on look out for the mysterious attacker. The sun bore down on them, the only shade being found under a few tarps sprinkled about across the area.

With their service to Japan in fighting off the Garoga, the JSDF was eager to recruit the Sakimori family to their ranks, even if they had needed to wait for the youngest to be of age to serve.

Hikaru sighed. Not that he wanted the city to be the site of a battle between Zone Fighter and some rampaging beast, but he just wanted something to happen. The sun seemed to be shining particularly bright today, and the bottle of water he had brought was running dry.

Another voice came through the com-link, a male voice. “They’re throwing around the idea that maybe it’s scared to come to Tokyo, given how much attention that would draw,” Akira Sakimori said. “Why a kaiju would be scared of being seen, I have no idea. They’ve been pretty upfront in the past.”

Hotaru replied, “Because it’s probably just an animal, and still relies on instinct instead of logic. Like you.”

“Hey!” Akira snapped back.

Hikaru pushed the button again, putting the communicator up to his mouth. “Official government lines, save the bickering for later you two.”

“Sorry,” Came both their replies at once. The eldest of the Sakimori siblings shook his head, chuckling.

Alarms blared throughout the city, causing Hikaru’s head to turn towards their cause. His eyes widened. “Guys, I think we’ve been outsmarted,” he spoke into the walkie-talkie, as a new being entered Tokyo in the opposite side of where the kaiju was supposed to come in.

Ivory skin covered in patterns of ebony coated the bipedal creature. Antlers atop its eyeless head turned in place as the being itself lumbered forth. What looked like a cartoonish, toothy grin adorned its face, unmoving. Whipping into a building, a wiry tail swung behind the creature.

“Eleking!” Hotaru gasped. Over at her and Akira’s location, scientists and military officials scrambled, trying to figure out what was happening.

“There’s no way it just walked all the way around Tokyo without anybody noticing!” Akira exclaimed.

“Hey you two, get over here and try to help us figure this out!” A scientist shouted for the two Sakimori siblings. As they rushed over to aid in whatever way they could, being much more familiar with kaiju than most, Hikaru put the walkie-talkie on his belt. He stood up, stretching, Whatever the case, he had a job to do.

“Zone Double Fight!”

With a flash of light, soon a giant stood on the streets of Tokyo. Zone Fighter’s yellow eyes focused on his target, and with a grunt, his feet left the ground as he soared. He knew little about Eleking, only knowing that he commanded electricity and that another of the white reptile’s kind had been slain by Ultraseven.

Landing before the creature, prompting its “gaze” to fall upon him, he settled into a fighting stance. Eleking let out its call, before the being’s mouth flashed. A crescent shaped projectile of electricity soared forth from it, aimed at Zone Fighter. The hero dodged to the side, leaving the attack to blast apart a building. Leaping forward, Zone Fighter reared a fist back, then drove it forward as he landed.

Eleking groaned as he stepped back, a massive welt forming on his chest. Several more strikes assailed the reptile’s body in the form of chops from the hero, driving the electric beast further back. Lashing out with his own fists, Eleking fought back, shoving Zone Fighter back. The hero recovered from his stumbling, and prepared to rush back into action, only for his feet to be knocked out from underneath him.

The ivory reptile had whipped his foe’s feet with his tail, dropping the Peacelandian to the ground. Wrapping his tail around Zone Fighter’s foot, Eleking lunged forward and stomped on the back of his foe’s skull. Keeping the hero’s face pinned to the ground, the electric beast began to channel his power. Bolts of lightning surged across his tail, conducting into Zone Fighter’s body. The kaiju-sized warrior seized as enough watts to power a city flowed into him. Eleking’s still face reflected his mood, one of indifference. He did not take any particular pleasure in inflicting pain, only seeing it as something necessary for survival, nothing more.

Fighting through the pain and muscle spasms, Zone Fighter managed to get his hands up, pointing his fingertips towards the colossus. He fired red bolts of energy from them. The projectiles resembled arrowheads, and they pierced their target’s hide as arrowheads did that of common animals.

Eleking backed away, shrieking in pain from the wounds imbedded into his sides. Zone Fighter pushed himself back to his feet in a moment. “Meteor Punch!” He shouted, before closing the distance between the two. With fists glowing blue, he rapidly punched Eleking, bruising the reptile’s hide as he slowly forced him back. When the assault ended, the ivory reptile fired another Light Blade as a desperate attempt for breathing room. It crashed against Zone Fighter’s chest, the explosion causing him to step back subconsciously.

A second passed, and the two went back to striking each other. They threw jabs at each other, trying to overpower their foe. Zone Fighter tried to sweep the kaiju’s legs out from under him, but they held firm. Eleking responded by leaping onto his crouched foe, trying to pin him to the ground. The Peacelandian caught the reptile, then strained to lift him up. Eleking could only thrash in panic as he was hoisted above Zone Fighter’s head.

Spinning as a wind-up, the Peacelandian hurled his foe through the air. The beast crashed onto the streets, splitting them open. His groan echoed across the city, overpowering the chorus of car alarms that blared.

“Meteor Missile Might!” Zone Fighter yelled, gauntlets forming on his wrists. Pointing them forward, he unleashed a barrage of gigantic missiles towards Eleking. The electric colossus looked to his foe, before discharging a blue beam of electricity from its “mouth”. The lightning bolt tore through the bulk of the missiles, crashing against the warrior’s chest. He cried out as the powerful shock threw him to the ground, as did Eleking when the remaining missiles blasted at his hide, painting portions of it with ash.

“They’re really tearing into each other!” Hotaru exclaimed, as she and several other JSDF agents watched the battle unfold on a monitor. Beneath a tarp, blocking the Sun’s blinding glare, they observed the struggle as they still worked to figure out how Eleking had gotten to where he had.

An agent whose name neither Sakimori sibling knew spoke up. “Is he going to be okay? Even if he wins, I can’t imagine that’s good for him.”

“He’s been hit with much worse.” Hotaru replied, letting her tone be prideful. “And he’s been fine, aside from being pretty sore the morning after.”

“Agent Hikaru has battled much worse than Eleking, he has things under control,” Added a General, reverent for the hero who had saved Japan so often. “Our job is to figure out what exactly happened with this whole Eleking situation.”

“What is there to figure out?” Akira asked. “Uh, with all due respect, of course,” he said, hastily saluting. “Eleking’s clearly our suspect, what’s left?”

“We need to figure out how and why though,” the high-ranking officer responded. “How could Eleking stay out of sight so-”

The ground shook rhythmically, accompanied by deep, booming crashes. With eyes widening, all gathered looked to the direction of the commotion, hoping they were hidden well enough.

A quadrupedal, grey giant stomped past them, with three horns atop his head, two curving from the back of the the skull, and one jutting from the nose. Occasionally, a spark of electricity would dance amongst the horns. Soon he was past them, giving them all sight of the yellow ridges running down his back.

Akira spoke first, quietly. “Sir, I don’t think Eleking was our culprit.”

Contributing further, a scientist added to the statement. “You’re absolutely right, because that was Neronga.” She waited for a reply, and when none came, she took it as a prompt to speak further. “The first Neronga fought Ultraman over a decade ago, and its actions matched our recent problem perfectly.”

“Well how did we miss that!” Someone amongst the crowd yelled.

Silence fell once more, awkward and tense from the organization’s shortcomings. The general broke it with a command. “Agents Hotaru and Akira, you two go help your brother. He’s strong, but two electric kaiju might be above his pay grade.”

“Yes sir!” The two siblings replied, saluting.

Back in Tokyo, Zone Fighter and Eleking continued their brawl. The kaiju smacked the hero across the face with a hand, eliciting a grunt from him. Flattening his own palms, the Peacelandian chopped at the reptile’s throat, prompting the beast to recoil as he clutched his neck.

Capitalizing on Eleking’s moment of weakness, Zone Fighter grabbed his foe’s antlers, before thrusting his head forward. Eleking cried out as the hero’s silver forehead bashed into his own, bruising flesh and sending cracks crawling across the bases of his horns. Before Zone Fighter could repeat the attack, electric jolts seared into his hands, forcing them away as the antlers began to spin.

Eleking wrapped his arms around the Peacelandian’s midsection, before letting electricity surge throughout his body. Zone Fighter cried out in pain as he thrashed, his feet leaving the ground as the ivory amphibian lifted him into a bear hug. He could feel his power waning quickly, signified by the gem on his waist changing from blue to yellow. He had to act, and fast.

Using what little leverage he had, Zone Fighter grabbed handfuls of his foe’s hide. Straining, he began to fly, lifting both of them into the air. Eleking’s legs thrashed as they lost footing, distracting the amphibian. He looked down, trying to figure out what was happening, the lapse in concentration weakening the flow of electricity for a brief time. Barely tilting himself forward, the Peacelandian stopped his flight, sending both falling a distance of half of Eleking’s height. The ivory amphibian landed, his feet not falling flat, leaving him to fall backwards.

Zone Fighter fell out of his foe’s grip, rolling to the ground. He caught himself, then immediately pushed up back to his feet. Turning to Eleking, he hoisted a foot up, before dropping it down on the amphibian’s stomach in an axe kick. If the electric kaiju could, he would have vomited from the pressure to his organs.

Instead, Eleking reared his head up, his “grin” crackling with energy. An azure Light Blade surged forth, slicing into Zone Fighter’s thigh. He clutched the burning wound, his distraction letting Eleking get to his feet. Attempting to knock the hero over once more, the ivory amphibian whipped his tail towards the Peacelandian’s feet. Zone Fighter jumped, crushing the limb beneath his feet. As Eleking shrieked, the hero backflipped off of the appendage, a second before the tail lit up with surging electricity.

When his footing was solid once more, the hero raised his arms. “Meteor Missile Might!” He shouted once more, forming the gauntlets upon his wrists. Thrusting his hands forward, he prepared to finish off Eleking. The electric biped was too distracted by the pain in his tail to retaliate, only being able to glance at his encroaching demise.

Until a bolt of electricity crashed into the hero’s side, the sudden attack throwing off his focus. It nearly sent him spilling to the ground, his incendiary projectiles flying through the air as he tried to keep his footing. Eleking tilted his head in confusion, before “looking” to the source of the other beam.

As Zone Fighter’s missiles demolished buildings in plumes of fire, the artillery designed to kill kaiju making short work of far weaker structures, a translucent creature looked between his foes. The cloaking faded, revealing Neronga in full, staring at Eleking with hungry eyes. His two back horns were curved forward, then twisted back into their natural position.

The quadrupedal beast was indeed attracted to Tokyo wellsprings of electricity, but had refrained from attacking it. Too much attention that would be nigh-impossible to avoid, for Neronga preferred to hunt obscured from sight. Until he sensed another source of food, one brimming with the energy he craved, with far more of it than the power plants he had fed from.

Awkwardly galloping forward, he charged towards Eleking. The ivory reptile cried out in an attempt at intimidation. When this failed to halt the grey saurian, Eleking fired a stream of electricity towards his foe. The energies struck, only for Neronga to stop, but not in pain. The attack flowed into his horns, disappearing without causing him any harm. His oversized mouth curled into a smile as he fed upon the electricity. He needed more.

Neronga’s horns glowed as he unleashed another stream of electricity, which surged into Eleking. The white amphibian was still, the energies washing over him. When the attack faded, the two kaiju just stared at each other. Both constantly channeled electricity through their bodies, casually generating wattages that would fry most beings. Of course they would be unaffected by each other’s ranged attacks.

Before either could think more on this, a shout echoed. “Meteor Jet!” cried Zone Fighter, as he charged towards Neronga, lavender light trailing behind him. He moved at immense speeds, closing the distance between the two of them in a second. Using his momentum, he delivered a rising kick to Neronga’s jaw.

The quadruped cried out in pain as he was thrown into the air, flipping until he hit the ground. Zone Fighter was confused as to why another kaiju had arrived, but he did not dwell on it. He would merely ask his siblings after the battle was won, but for now, he had a job to do.

Eleking’s tail wrapped around the Peacelandian’s body, pinning his arms to his side. Zone Fighter cried out in agony as he was shocked once more, seizing and shaking in his foe’s grip. As this happened, Neronga began to stand up, blood streaming from his chin. Bone had been cracked, nearly broken, but this would not be enough to keep him down.

His nasal horn hummed with blue light as he looked towards Zone Fighter. This being was standing in the way of his food, and given the current situation, it appeared as if his prey did not care much for the humanoid either. From the tips of the grey saurian’s external bones, surging spheres of yellow energy formed and floated in the air. They floated into position, as if they rested on the corners of an invisible pentagon.

Waving his head back and forth madly, Neronga sent the Despotic Electric Balls racing forward. Eleking, sensing the incoming attacks, shifted his tail to allow a wide open target on Zone Fighter’s stomach. White hot pain shot through the Peacelandian’s body as the two sources of shock speared into him, Neronga’s five projectiles exploding against his body. He tried to scream, but could not, only being able to release a choked, wheezing sound. His timer turned red as smoke curled off his body.

Twisting his body on one foot, Eleking released his foe at the apex of his turn, sending the warrior through the air. The guardian smashed into a cluster of buildings, crushing the structures into dust. All of Tokyo could hear the sounds of the collapse. The smoke faded, revealing the pile of rubble that entombed the hero.

A silent moment passed as they waited for him to get up. He did not, the ruins remaining still, prompting the two kaiju to turn to face each other. They roared, daring their enemy to flee. Neither backed down. Snarling, Neronga made the first move, charging forwards.

He tried to gore Eleking with his horn, only for the alien creature to kick the overgrown lizard in the chin wound. Neronga howled in pain, before rearing up on his back legs. Lashing out with his forelimbs, he raked his claws across the white amphibian. They scraped against the skin, but failed to pierce his hide. Eleking grabbed the quadruped’s horns, before twisting his body.

As Neronga fought to stay in place, he tried to absorb his foe’s energy. The ivory flesh was too thick for him to pull the electricity out of Eleking’s innards. He would have to fight physically, and it did not take long for him to detect a weak point.

As Eleking tried to topple the grey saurian by throwing him down, a horrid pain shot through his side. He released his grip, backing away as his hands subconsciously shot towards the afflicted area. Gripping it, the alien reptile felt moisture. His side had been punctured, for his foe had struck a wound Zone Fighter had inflicted earlier.

As streams of green blood trickled onto Eleking’s hand, Neronga lunged forward, nasal-horn first. Flesh and muscle parted before the sharp implement, staining it with the same green ichor. The horn lit up, crackling with electricity which traveled down the length of the blade and into his body. Neronga’s lips curled into a smile, the sweet sustenance filling him.

Doubling over, the white alien’s mind filled with panic. His very life essence was being drained, and the effects were already hitting him. Fatigue slowed him down as he reached for the two horns not imbedded into him, grasping them. Adrenaline rushing through his body, Eleking placed a foot against his foe’s body, before pushing with all his swiftly weakening might.

Over the rubble burying Zone Fighter, a small aircraft descended from the clouds. It stopped, hovering just above the ruins. It was the Smokey, a mysterious vessel the Sakimori’s owned. Within it were Hotaru and Akira, though they were dressed much differently than before. Instead of the standard uniforms given to them by the JSDF, they wore what resembled one-piece jumpsuits. Hotaru’s was a bright pink, with Akira’s being a dark blue much like his brother’s. Starting at the shoulder blades and running down to the top of the chest on both were red, lightning like markings. Finally, they wore silver helmets, their mouths and noses obscured by veils the same color as their respective outfit.

They had transformed into Zone Angel and Zone Junior respectively. And while they could not become giants like Hikaru, they were far from worthless in these kinds of situations.

“So, how do we go about doing this?” Akira asked, keeping a careful watch on the two colossi responsible for this in the first place. Eleking forced the horn out of his body, leaving a stream of paler than usual blood to flow.

“We need to figure out where exactly he is first,” Hotaru replied, tersely. She did not want to be anywhere near two kaiju battling anymore than the average person, even if she did possess superhuman abilities. “Then we just get enough of the rubble away for his capsule to be visible, than replace it.”

Eleking, still holding onto his attempted predator, began thrusting Neronga’s head down into his upraised knee. The grey saurian cried out in pain with each strike.

Hotaru, very carefully, got to a door of the Smokey, before opening it. Looking down upon the ruins encasing her brother, she waited. Once she was sure the kaiju were too busy trying to kill each other to notice her, a given as Neronga had pulled his horns free and barged forward as a tackle, she shouted.

“Hikaru! Can you hear me?” No movement. The worst possible scenario blossomed into her mind, but she quickly shoved it back. Her brother had faced far worse than what these two could dish out, he had to be alive. An entire empire dedicated to galactic domination had tried to kill them, but he stood against them every time. “Hikaru!” she screamed again.

“Hikaru!” Akira joined her, the Smokey being able to hover in place without a pilot. “Big bro!” A similar intrusive thought arose in the youngest Sakimori’s mind. But he refused to believe it. His brother had fought King Ghidorah, alone! His brother had singlehandedly braved a storm that swallowed whole civilizations and sent them into oblivion, and came out on the other side alive and victorious. “I know an eyeless salamander and Baragon’s weird cousin can’t take you down, so where are you?!”

The rubble shifted, elating the two siblings. A column of the debris rose, before falling away as Zone Fighter’s arms slowly rose. Not wasting a moment, Hotaru and Akira put their hands to the tops of their helmets, which each had an antenna like Hikaru’s did. From the top of the antennas came a thin, blue laser which raced forward towards the portion of rubble overtop his head. Small explosions sent dust and debris flying, and shortly afterwards, Zone Fighter’s massive hand brushed over the same area. This finally cast off enough to reveal the hero’s antenna.

Rushing inside, the two siblings tapped away at buttons on the Smokey’s control panel. The aircraft fired a projectile, a silver cylinder with a blue gem at its top. The top of Zone Fighter’s antenna discharged a similar object, the source of his power at its peak. The new capsule slid into place when it reached him.

And the whole pile rose and shifted as the Peacelandian got to his feet, his timer glowing bright blue once again.

Hotaru and Akira cheered loudly as their brother arose. They took the Smokey further into the air, not wanting to leave Hikaru alone just yet. These two had proven to be deadlier than anticipated so far, so even with their elation, wariness still held a place within the siblings’ minds.

When Zone Fighter reached the battlefield once again, he found Eleking with his tail wrapped around Neronga’s throat. The saurian madly snapped his jaws towards the amphibian’s torso, and slowly but surely gained ground as the alien’s strength quickly waned.

“Meteor Missile Might!” He shouted with a renewed vigor, drawing both kaiju’s attention to the hero. Acting on the first thoughts to emerge from his subconscious, Eleking twisted his body, releasing his grip on Neronga to send the reptile flying towards Zone Fighter.

A barrage of missiles soared from the Peacelandian’s wrists, intercepting the airborne saurian. Neronga’s momentum stopped as explosions tore apart his flesh, causing him to groan as he smacked into the ground. Marred by burning craters in his flesh, the quadruped flailed.

Eleking began to flee, drawing Zone Fighter’s attention. “Meteor Jet!” He yelled, preparing to dash forward far faster than he normally could. However, before he could take a second step, a beam of electricity crashed into his legs, toppling him. Grunting, he pushed himself to his feet, in time to see Neronga roll over into a standing position. The saurian stared daggers at the hero, snarling. Zone Fighter had interrupted his meal again, put him through horrid pain, and did not know when to stay down.

Suddenly, Neronga disappeared. Recoiling, Zone Fighter quickly looked around, frantically searching for any sign of his opponent. He focused, trying to remain as calm and silent as possible. Something slammed into the back of his leg, making him stumble. Suddenly, bone pressed against both sides of his calf, applying pressure. His foe was trying to bring him to the ground, but Zone Fighter struggled against it. Stone split apart beneath his foot, unable to withstand the sole being pressed downwards.

Zone Fighter braced himself, before thrusting his afflicted leg forwards. Gravel flew from the action. Using the momentum, he turned around and thrust his hands forward. Red arrowhead-like projectiles soared forth from his fingertips.

They disappeared in midair, burning bits of flesh seemingly materializing and being thrown aside. Neronga shrieked, his invisibility fading immediately, revealing blackened wounds upon his back. Before Zone Fighter could attack further, Neronga’s horns lit up with energy, the back set having already been pointed forward to pin his foe’s leg. The Despotic Energy Attack raced out of the beast’s head, crashing against Zone Fighter’s stomach.

The sudden attack threw him to the ground, allowing Neronga to leap towards him. The grey quadruped landed upon Zone Fighter’s chest, forcing a grunt from the warrior. Pointing his head down, Neronga thrust his head downwards. Just before he could gash the hero’s skull, a hand shot upwards and wrapped around the nasal blade.

Zone Fighter used his free hand to punch the saurian’s face twice, each one bruising skin and forcing a grunt of pain from Neronga. A jolt of electricity zapped his hand, forcing him to let go of his foe’s horn. As the beast let out a brief laugh, a third punch knocked him off his feet, sending him spilling onto his side and off of Zone Fighter.

Kipping up, the warrior quickly grabbed the saurian’s tail. Straining his muscles, he began to spin in place while keeping a firm grip. Neronga groaned in protest as his face and horns began to drag against the ground. At first it was a slow grind, but soon sparks flew from his external bones scraping against concrete. He shrieked as the ground fell away, helpless as Zone Fighter’s spinning was unhindered. Neronga tried to go invisible, hoping to confuse his foe and catch him off guard, but the Peacelandian was undeterred.

Once he had grown use to it, the beast’s invisibility was paltry compared to some of the Terro-Beast’s tricks.

After seven full spins, Zone Fighter’s fingers straightened, sending the now unbound Neronga flying. The beast shrieked until it crashed into a skyscraper, tearing apart the structure and sending it into a collapse. Several buildings behind it imploded as well, the saurian’s body smashing apart hundreds of thousands of tons of concrete and steel.

Once the chaos of the impact settled, Zone Fighter walked over to investigate. All he saw were colossal piles of rubble, piles of shattered concrete and steel interspersed with glass shards.

He had gotten careless in the midst of battle, the world being shut out as all focus fell upon eliminating the target. The JSDF would only scold and reprimand him for this, knowing that collateral damage was impossible to avoid in colossal battles amidst cities. His own guilt would probably serve as a greater punishment, even if no civilians had been harmed.

Suddenly, the rubble began to shake and bulge, shards of it being wildly tossed aside. He rushed towards it, digging his hands into the debris and digging through it. It began to fall, a section of it lowering as the surrounding metal and concrete began to fall into its place. Zone Fighter stepped back as another collapse revealed a massive hole where Neronga had been, with rubble falling in to fill it.

The ground beneath him crumbled as well, sending him falling waist deep into a sinkhole. Mangled remains of buildings flooded to further trap him within it, prompting him to grunt as he tried to pull himself free.

Outside of the scene of devastation, the soil and concrete bulged upwards. It soon cracked apart like an egg, revealing Neronga pulling himself to the surface. The muscles in his forelegs strained as he dragged himself up. With wild eyes focused on the struggling warrior, he already began to channel energy through his body before even fully getting his footing.

Blood oozed from countless cuts upon the beast’s body. Each wound was further sullied by dust and shards of the buildings lodged within, only making his pain at every movement worse. He wanted vengeance, and it was what he would get.

A thin, translucent wall of energy formed in front of Neronga’s body as he charged towards Zone Fighter. The saurian’s feet crunched the rubble beneath as he gained speed, letting out a howl towards his foe. Electricity danced across his whole body, making the steel beneath heat up as it passively absorbed his run-off.

With a final heave, the Peacelandian pushed himself out of the ground. Before he could solidly plant his feet on the ground, Neronga’s Despotic Electric Rush slammed into his back. Zone Fighter screamed, being thrown to the ground as he flailed. His face smashed into the debris, and when he attempted to lift his head, a foot crashed into the back of his skull. The saurian’s laughter echoed, as it continued grinding the guardian’s face against the ground.

Far away, Eleking trodden through the streets. He watched the battle, waiting for an opportunity to rush in and strike. Pale scabs disfigured his stomach and side, dried blood staining his ivory skin. Each breath was a deep one. Tiredness hung over him, the result of a portion of his very essence being drained from him.

With how focused his two threats were on each other, the thought of escape surfaced in his primitive mind. It would be so simple, to just run past them and into the waters. Escape to a less hostile place and recover, before carrying out… whatever he had come to Tokyo to do.

Why was he here? As he made to run in the direction of the Tokyo Bay, he stopped. He tried again, only to stop once more. No matter how hard he willed it, he could not flee. It was as if a fog took over his mind, blotting out the idea of fleeing.

Why was he here?!

Eleking turned towards Neronga and Zone Fighter, but he did not want to. The fog grew, eclipsing all else. Survival instinct was smothered, overtaken by a command. The alien’s legs began to move, carrying him towards danger, no matter how much he tried to fight it.

Zone Fighter thrust his arms back, pointing his fingers towards Neronga. A white mist shot forth from them, enveloping the saurian’s face. He coughed as exhaustion suddenly seized his body, making each movement sluggish. Zone Fighter’s hands curled into fists, before slamming into the sides of Neronga’s knee, sending the saurian backpedaling. As Neronga moaned from the throbbing pain in his leg, Zone Fighter rolled over onto his back.

Curling his legs inwards, the Peacelandian locked eyes with the beast. Raising his legs slightly, Zone Fighter straightened them out in an instant. The dual kick crashed into Neronga’s stomach, lifting the quadruped into the air. He shrieked while tumbling end over end.

The earth shuddered as the beast crashed into it, forming a crater in the street. Zone Fighter got to his feet, staggering slightly as the ground beneath was uneven. Neronga rolled to his feet, coughing and wheezing as he stared at his foe. His legs could barely support him, wobbling under the beast’s own weight.

A shriek echoed across the landscape, but it was not from the saurian. Neronga, focused solely upon Zone Fighter, could not fight back when a white tail wrapped around his torso. His legs dangled and kicked as he was lifted off the ground, a slight screech leaving him at the surprise. The silver and blue hero, caught off guard, watched as Eleking assaulted Neronga once more.

Azure lightning danced across the alien’s flesh. They traveled down his tail’s length, conducting into Neronga’s body. The saurian thrashed to free himself, but his foe’s tail held strong. Electricity flowed into his body, satiating his hunger further. He felt empowered, the newfound strength swiftly growing as the seconds passed. Despite this, he could not find the strength to break free, for his anatomy did not allow him to break this hold.

Zone Fighter stood back, waiting to see how this played out. He mentally prepared to fire his greatest attack at either of the two should things change too suddenly for his liking.

Power was filling Neronga too quickly, he could feel an internal stress building. It was akin to the feeling of a stomach being overfilled, too much too quickly for the organ to properly contain. Lightning surged across his flesh, countless azure streaks as both kaijus’ power mixed. The extraterrestrial cried out, trying to force as much electricity as he could into his foe. Eleking’s body was shaking, exhaustion beginning to set in.

Stepping back, Zone Fighter raised his hands to his head antenna. Both of his foes shrieked, tension building as they tried to overcome the other.

“What is happening down there?” Hotaru asked, pulling the Smokey higher into the air. “They look like they’re about to explode.”

“Well, whatever it is,” Akira replied, subconsciously stepping back from the window. “Brace yourself!” He shouted, whatever he was going to say dissolving as he noticed the bolts racing towards Neronga’s horns. Both siblings’ eyes widened, as would Zone Fighter’s if they could.

In an instant, a colossal bolt of lightning surged forth from Neronga’s nasal horn. A column of blue, crooked spears of energy. Stray streaks split off and struck nearby buildings as it passed.

“Meteo-” was all Zone Fighter could get out before the combined attack slammed into his chest. He flailed madly, the millions of watts clawing across and through his body. His brother and sister screamed in horror at the sight, his skin blackening where the beam struck. A moment passed, and the beam faded.

The Peacelandian clutched his chest, seizing as he dropped backwards.

“Hikaru!” Hotaru and Akira shouted as they made the Smokey descend, nearly bringing it into a nosedive to get to their brother. Zone Fighter disappeared, revealing the body of Hikaru Sakimori, laying still.

He was so miniscule amongst the ruins.

Eleking’s tail unfurled, dropping Neronga to the ground with a heavy thud. The saurian breathed heavily, nostrils flaring as he tried to take in as much air as possible. He no longer felt hungry, having received all the electricity he needed and so much more. Eleking stumbled and staggered, barely able to stay standing. He had put so much energy into that final attack, while he was already greatly weakened. Neronga’s eyes closed. Eleking fell on his side, going limp. Neither thought much of the immense attack they had performed, exhaustion overtaking all mental faculties.

Akira kneeled next to his brother, both hands pressed to Hikaru’s chest. Rhythmically, he pushed down on the eldest Sakimori’s ribcage, his own breathing heavy. “Come on, breathe!” He shouted. Hotaru also kneeled, keeping her fingers pressed to Hikaru’s wrists to check for a pulse. Tears welled up in her eyes, and though he hid them better, they did in Akira’s as well.

When they had found Hikaru, his heart had not been beating. Burns disfigured the front of his torso, but they had not been the worst of the electricity’s affects. Now he stood upon the brink of death, his sibling’s intervention being the only thing keeping him from plummeting.

It was faint. At first, they were not sure they had even felt it. Until another thump came, and another, a fourth.

Hikaru’s heart was beating once more.

Still trying their best to restrain their emotions so they could do what needed to be done, the siblings carefully grabbed their brother and began to lift him into the Smokey. Tears streaked from their eyes, and their own heart beats pounded like drums against their chests. He was alive, but that did not mean everything was ok. Two kaiju still resided in Tokyo, and just because Hikaru was alive, did not mean he was fine.

No one was invincible, and no foe should be underestimated. That was what today had taught them.

As the Smokey began to lift off once more, the Sakimoris were unaware that they were being watched. A drone perched atop a surviving building observed them, sending the footage to a distant location. A fortress within Earth’s atmosphere, hidden from sight.

“Well, a shame that he lives, but what are you gonna do?” said the golden Garoga, shrugging his shoulders. “He’ll die soon, along with the rest of Peaceland’s survivors.”

“Lord Gold, how shall we proceed?” A Garoga scientist asked.

“Well first off, I must congratulate you and your team for that idea of having Eleking shock Neronga while pointing him in the right direction,” The captain of the vile aliens stated, a rare compliment from a usually cruel leader. “A bold plan, but it worked. I suppose that’s how you could describe this whole operation, using an electric monster to lure Neronga to us for easy capturing.”

“Thank you, Sir. I, and my fellow scientists, greatly appreciate your kindness,” He replied, bowing.

“Yes, a shame we couldn’t have used a Terro-Beast for it. Those Pitt make a damn good kaiju, I’ll admit it, but it always feels wrong to just use a stolen monster instead of one we made ourselves. Wouldn’t you agree?”

“Yes, Sir. No matter how good their handiwork is, relying on the work of an inferior race always stings,” He coldly replied. “We are working to get Terro-Beast production back in motion as quickly as possible.”

The golden Garoga would have smiled if his facial structure allowed it. “I’m glad you agree. I trust that you shall get it working, so far you scientists have not failed me like the batch from our last campaign on Earth did. And ready the ships to grab Eleking and Neronga, then place mind-control devices upon the latter. We have power grids to cripple!”

Wow. I really wasn't expecting that ending!
Spoiler:
Personally like how Zone Fighter lost. Honestly was expecting him to win but hey i'll take it! Mix that with some nice dialogue and fight scenes and we have a pretty good match!

I may not know much about Zone Fighter and I may not know jack-skreeonk about Eleking or Neronga, but this was nevertheless a very entertaining match to read!

No issue with being late. ;) And hey, that's actually a really solid banner! :D

Feel that Neronga is a tad small, but otherwise, nice banner.
Up from the depths

Breathing fire
His head in the sky

Spoiler:
Don't understand why Neronga tried to scare Eleking away; I thought he wanted to feed off his energy, can't really do that if your food runs away. The electricity overload attack was cool.
This was a pretty smart, cool fight.
