The world was calm. King Ghidorah had been destroyed, turned into nothing but ash and a distant memory. The Golden Demise's killer laid on the ocean floor, taking in deep breaths as he slept. Dreaming of the distant past when he witnessed the fall of an ancient civilization….then he heard an all too familiar sound.

Bump bump….bump bump

His eyes opened in the vast darkness, the heartbeat drawing his attention more than most would. Though he didn't know why, it sounded...no, why it felt so familiar. As if the energy signature was something he encountered in the past though...something was off. It felt...human.

The ancient leviathan began to rise from the ocean floor, standing among a couple of wrecked ships and wildlife passing by him as he looked up towards the surface before taking off, swimming towards where he felt the strange pulse.

***

Hate. Greed. Lust. Power. Suffering.

That is all she felt in the city, humanity's sins were most present here. The human part of her knew this city as the golden apple but the goddess of vengeance cared not for what it was called, all that mattered to her was to make the city into a warning.

Those that harm the innocent, those that would bring nothing but hatred and vile acts against their own kind would face her wrath.

Helicopters surrounded a nearby bridge, reporters telling the public of the possible rise of another Titan as a massive form began to erupt from the water. Their body a void pitch black with yellow sacks of energy covering her neck and chest. Dorsal spines ran down her back, twin gigantic clawed hands ripped through the water as a tail resembling a trident quickly cut through steel, sparks flying as the bridge by her side was cut.

At first, the humans had believed that this was their savior king or a subspecies of him but they soon realized that this was something much worse.

The goddess of vengeance looked towards the flying vehicles with curiosity at first as she took a step forward as a few of them opened fire upon her form. A mistake they would regret, with a booming roar of divinity, she announced her attack on New York. The monster turned shooting out a ball of energy at one of them, landing a direct hit before exploding. The light of the burning helicopter visible to the world before it plummeted into the cold abyss below, those watching from home standing still in horror as the new Titan reached over and ripped a part of the bridge off as bullets rained down her armored plates before one hit one of the many energy sacks across her neck, forcing an explosion outward, engulfing a few of the vehicles in a matter of moments. A roar of pain echoed through the city as the energy had returned to her, her healing factor absorbing the power displayed and repairing the damage. Those that remained watched as the smoke cleared as a chunk of metal was thrown into the busy streets of Manhatten.

Her tail moved with precision as it swung upward, knocking another one of humanity’s flying machines to crash into the sea. Water fell from her form as she stepped onto the land, breaking concrete as if it were nothing. Civilians screamed in terror as the goddess moved onward towards her target. The financial district of lower Manhatten...Wallstreet. She felt nothing but pure malice from here, those that were hungry for power. Violent acts over territory and money constantly being committed by those that dwelled here. No more. No longer would someone feel unsafe as they walked the streets at night, no longer would a child go missing from school, no longer would a spouse feel fear from their significant other. They would all be purged.

“Stop!”

The goddess moved onward as a voice began to echo in her mind, the human half of her attempting to take power over their shared body. But she moved forward, continuing her quest for vengeance.

“I SAID STOP!”

The monster growled under her breath as the girl’s voice began to get louder, demanding her attention. All the goddess could do was give the human a warning...stay quiet.

Then...her mind began to pulse as they felt something. Something familiar yet it felt like a stranger. The goddess of greek mythology turned towards the bay which she arrived, spotting a set of dorsal spines cutting through the water. Water erupted into the sky as the new arrival emerged, their yellow eyes staring at them as the water fell back down. As the goddess looked upon the new arrival, her mind felt as if it were about to shatter. The weight being too much for her to concentrate as memories began to flash, they had met this beast somewhere but they did not know where in their past they saw him...but the human part of her recognized the monster all the same.

A cold chill of fear ran down their spine as the monster stepped onto the bay. Maigo had seen him fight the MUTOS on the television before that fateful day...the day that her life was taken from her by the man she thought she could trust most. She opened her mouth and uttered a single word in the dark void of their connected minds.

“Godzilla…”

The monster king looked upon the panicking invader. Rage rushing through his body as he had remembered this one. The alien invader that took the civilization he fought for, that cared for him and his companions when they needed them most. A memory flashed before his eyes, blood ran down his snout as he began to rise back to his feet. Watching as the alien invader tore into a weapon that humanity had built to defend their precious city. He remembered the heat he felt as the fire of a burning empire blossomed all around him. Staring into the eyes of the one that was responsible, his….Nemesis.

Spoiler:
Clayton, Australia

Steady tremors rocked the floor like drums of impending doom.

Blue eyes snapped open quicker than they could blink. The cockpit inside Atlas Destroyer was still dark, but her eyes adjusted quickly to the ambient nightly light that outlined her surroundings. If it wasn’t nighttime, it was still very early morning. Hayley Travis was the first to react to the tremors; despite how soft and steady they were, to her they were like the echoes of a neighborhood gunshot. At first, she held perfectly still as she let the tremors flow, studying their pattern if only just to try and look for any hope it wasn’t what she thought it was.

But some hopes just weren’t destined last—particularly when their wisher realized as such right from the start.

The tremors continued in their soft, yet dreadful pattern, and right from the get-go Hayley knew exactly what they were. Very slowly, she pressed her palms against the cold floor and began to push up to a sitting position. Not too far away, a young child had snapped awake from the unmistakable tremors, and hobbled as quickly as it could over to her as if for protection. ‘Boy’ stared at the wall as if out a window while Hayley clasped him tightly in her arms like a mother comforting her frightened son. Next to them, another lithely strong form had snapped up sitting before her own lime green eyes had even opened. Mei looked to Hayley, and the expression on their faces was all that was needed to communicate the realization of the culprit.

Kaiju.

“What on earth…?” a half-tired voice asked as a fourth lifeform sat awake. Taylor only took a couple of seconds to register the vibrations in the ground before quickly realizing there was another familiar threat lurking somewhere outside their current residence.

“Oh, shit…”

“Shhh,” Mei ordered softly as she placed her feet upon the floor and half-stood, keeping low like a cat as she stalked over to the other side of the cockpit and grabbed her pistols. She knew full and well that the weapons she held wouldn’t do a goddamn thing to a Kaiju aside from maybe getting its attention, but they at the very least made her feel somewhat safer being armed rather than devoid of any offensive instruments whatsoever.

“Loa,” Mei whispered, “… … …what is it?”

“Signature belongs to nearby Kaiju. Breed: Copperhead, 2nd Generation. Category IV. Circling vicinity at approximate distance of 2300 meters,” the AI replied, booting to life.

“Circling?” Taylor wondered. “What do you mean?”

“Circling. Definition: moving in a circle; revolving. ‘A circling helicopter—”

“We know what circling means!” Taylor snapped in a whisper.

“Then why did you ask me?”

Hayley tried to stifle a giggle. “Oof!”

As Taylor elbowed his sister in the side, causing her to briefly bark with quiet laughter, Mei meanwhile looked to the now awake Artificial Intelligence, not fully satisfied with the given information. “Why is it circling? Is it not going anywhere else?”

“That is correct. Reasoning unknown.”

Mei took a deep breath. “Okay,” she whispered with a slight nod, “okay.” She turned to her fellow allies, who had ceased their moment of humor and now were quiet once more. “I think we should just lay low and stay quiet. Maybe wait for it to leave.”

Hayley and Taylor looked to one another.

“Loa. Keep track of its movements,” Mei ordered, “let us know if it either starts heading right for us, or begins to leave.”

“Understood,” was Loa’s reply.

Mei turned to her fellow comrades. “Now, we wait.”

Quietly, they sat back down in the ambient darkness, nobody uttering another word or sound. Boy huddled closer to Hayley, who still held him in a protective embrace as she held still like a deer, feeling the ominous vibrations continue to change position and feel, but still keeping their regular pace and intensity, as the outside entity who so closely resembled their former nemesis continued to circle about through the ghost city outside.

Mei kept her hands mere inches from the pistol holsters on her hips, primed and ready to grab them at the first sign of trouble—despite the knowledge that they were utterly useless. The amethyst-haired woman didn’t pay such a concept any mind as of now; she simply held down, eyes trained on the doors as if they would open and the boogeyman would come barreling in at any moment. Completely ignoring the continuous tremors as if they didn’t exist, Mei never once took her eyes off the sealed doorway, facing it like a mother bear guarding her cubs in a den. She didn’t know why; maybe she just wanted to feel like she lived up to her status as the eldest of the four, that she had to keep channeling that ‘mature’ role in the pack.

She wouldn’t admit it aloud; but the near-total silence, the steady thrumming of distant footfalls, the long eventless suspense, was all but threatening to drive her insane. She would give anything for something, anything to just crack the silent buildup like the surface of glass… … …

“Shall we play a game?” Hayley whispered in a mock-robotic voice.

Both Taylor and Mei looked to her, somewhat startled.

“Would you prefer a nice game of chess?” Loa asked.

Taylor facepalmed himself so hard it sounded almost like a thunderclap within the cockpit of Atlas Destroyer, as Hayley chortled from the hilarity of the response. “Yes,” she replied back.

“Well, too bad. Because games such as chess are not in my database.”

Copperhead snorted as he crawled through the plant-ridden ghost city of Clayton. The Category IV Daikaiju kept his luminescent eyes peeled for any signs of life—or more preferably, resistance—but so far the only movements he could detect were the scatterings of Kaiju canines that fled his presence like ants at the presence of a cat. The bioluminescent quadruped took moment after moment to peer into the windows of the abandoned buildings he passed by, but so far every result yielded that they were just that. Abandoned.

Wonderful.

Copperhead rounded one corner as he began to change direction, continuing his wide circle around this deserted human habitat. As he did, he saw old decayed chunks of flesh ridden across the streets and buildings, their layer of musculature still possessing a very faint but still visible azure glow. The alien snorted again. One of his kind—more specifically, another of the same breed as him had been killed here; he had smelled it the moment he came within reach of this city. So far, it the only scent he had been able to pick up the entire time he had been here, and it got on his nerves almost as much as the dead silence.

He wasn’t here for a reconnaissance, nor a reminder of the advantages or disadvantages he possessed in this scenario. He was a soldier, and he had a job to do. He was built and bred for combat, so that’s what he sought out this very moment. He and his masters were in the middle of a war, and he didn’t have time for whatever it was that he was apparently doing here. He needed a combatant to fight, a populated city to destroy, something useful to achieve.

Because this was downright pathetic.

A wailing groan echoed from Copperhead’s maw as he turned about again, treading through the abandoned streets with hostile resolve. Out of nothing but pure frustration, the extraterrestrial tarasque growled and swung his hooked tail, smashing it against a building adjacent to him and crumbling it to worthless rubble, sending packs of mini-Kaiju fleeing and thus breaking the silence for once. Copperhead cocked his head as he listened to the echoes of the destruction reverberate across the dark, early morning landscape for a good twenty-five seconds before eventually fading away.

Nothing. No response, no attention wrought, nothing.

Copperhead grunted and continued to plod about, rounding yet another corner of old buildings as a clearing came into his view… … …

His six eyes suddenly widened. Now there was something of interest! Copperhead roared at the sight of the vacant mech in the distance, pleasurable thrill coursing through his veins as dark thoughts began to brew about within his violent mind. An opponent! One of the human race’s war machines! At last, Copperhead had something to spend energy on; at last, he had some vermin to exterminate! His masters would be pleased with this progress! Roaring again, the alien armadillo pawed the ground like a bull preparing to charge, eyes narrowed with vicious excitement.

Engrossed he was in the prospect of achieving what he had been seen here to achieve, but not so engrossed to not notice a new scent entering his powerful nostrils.

The roar rippled through the bowels of the dormant Jaeger, rattling the walls and striking a horrible panic into its occupants. Hayley nearly jumped, Taylor visibly flinched, even Mei snapped her head about like a cat with widened eyes and contracted pupils. Even before that horrid bellow had finished, they all knew what it meant: hiding time was over.

It was time to—

“Warning: second signature now in range. Approaching at speeds of 50 kilometers per hour,” Loa suddenly announced.

“Wait…what?!” Hayley asked in shock.

“What category?” Taylor demanded.

“Running diagnostics…” Loa stated as she took a moment of quiet, much to the suspenseful dread of the Jaeger’s occupants, before finishing, “Scans complete. Kaiju, Category 6.”

A chill as cold as the most frigid depths of the Antarctic Ocean went down their spines at the sound of that description.

“What?” Taylor gasped.

“No way…” Hayley whispered.

Alongside him, Mei took a step back. “You gotta be f***ing kidding.”

“Type: Quadrupedal. Approximate height: 40 meters on four legs. Estimated weight 54,000 metric tons.” Loa paused for a moment, but by the look of things she clearly wasn’t done running her scans. As the group waited for her to say something, a glowing diagram formed of the previously unseen newcomer.

A loud, wailing cry unlike anything they ever heard echoed across the abandoned city, clearly audible even within the depths of a colossal war machine.

“Breed… … …unknown.

Under the first light of dawn that begun to creep into sight in the desert distance, a giant’s morning stroll came to an abrupt stop. Brown eyes widened in surprise upon locking onto the sight of another behemoth in the distance, its bioluminescent glow sticking out like a scar across one’s chest. Leathery scales older than the human race itself pulled taught and tensed as the ancient behemoth halted like a deer in headlights, temporarily taken aback at this unexpected surprise.

The Fierce Prehistoric Dragon hadn’t expected to find this new settlement of land to be the stomping grounds of the otherworldly ones, but there was a first for everything. Anguirus grunted in irritation and dug his forepaws into the desert soil. Ever since his rude and loud awakening by the devil’s flame that humankind unleashed, the ankylosaur had hoped that the end of his migration from all the way in Siberia would mark the beginning of a long period of peace for him; a fitting reward for his rather tiresome journey from one continent to another—and the occasional battles he had to fight to get here.

Anguirus wasn’t in the mood for yet another sparring match… … …but he also wasn’t bent on seeing his destination get stolen from him upon mere arrival—particularly at the paws of one of The Breach’s invaders.

The tenacious ankylosaur reared up like a horse and wailed a powerful roar into the early morning heavens, catching the other beast’s attention. As Anguirus’ howl echoed off the gorgeous canyons and resounded through the ghost city, the glowing quadruped up ahead turned to face him. The dinosaur growled. He had its attention now. From afar, the alien bellowed its own otherworldly cry back at him, a clear beckon for conflict. This made Anguirus snort.

Right from the get-go, this creature was looking for a fight.

Shaking his dragon-like head, Anguirus roared a second time, a warning for the alien to back down. This was HIS territory!

But Copperhead merely howled back once more, aggressively defiant as ever.

Spoiler:
The howl of a predatory grim reaper screamed through the light of dawn.

Ann Darrow’s legs ached like she had been running for a thousand years without a single stop for a break, but continue to run she did. Swerving and darting in and about the trees, making sure to make way between the largest or tightest of their ranks in order to create more barriers and obstacles between herself and her hideous pursuer, who’s impending footfalls continued to vibrate under her bare feet. She could hear the distant snapping of bark and crashing of trees growing closer with every passing second; so she made every second, every swerve and every tree in her path count.

As she ran, Ann heard a most horrid sound echo through the palm forest from behind her. A sound she would give anything not to hear right now, a sound she thought incapable of coming from the entities which pursued her. At first, it was a deep baritone rumble, like rolling thunder—and then it happened. It increased in pitch and echoed in waves to birth an unmistakable noise: laughter.

Hideously human, demented, sadistic laughter.

There were many voices behind each laugh, and a bone-chilling, emotional gut punch blasted Ann’s very soul apart like a shotgun as she recognized all of them. Jack Driscoll, Carl Denham, Preston, Captain Englehorn, Benjamin Hayes... ... ...they were the voices of her dead friends. The monsters’ victims.

The monsters were laughing at her in their voices.

The first tears beginning to fall, Ann did her best not to cry as she kept running, fighting hard to focus only on what was ahead of her, and not behind or around. The blonde kept darting in between the trees she knew only she could fit, leaping over as many large obstacles as she could, doing anything at all to keep as many obstacles in her pursuers’ path as possible. She climbed and leaped over a particularly large log—knowing by experience that it wasn’t really a log at all, but a massive insect merely disguising itself as a fallen tree. But such a fact was all but irrelevant to her; she leaped off of it and continued running from the far more vicious entities pursuing her.

The spore mantis continued to lay still, frozen still like the log he disguised himself as while he hid from the ravenous predators he knew were coming.

Ann ignored the ache in her legs as she increased her running speed, another round of demented laughter resounding behind her. As she ran, she noticed the trees begin to decrease in number around her, more light shining through ahead as she saw the ever-growing gaps making way to a clearing... ... ...

Ms. Darrow burst out of the foliage, continuing to run in spite of her shock that she was no longer in the forest, but now in a vast, wide-open plain of grass and marshes. There were no more obstacles she could use to her advantage, no more trees she could make use of. She was alone, out in the open, more vulnerable than ever, and all she could do is run as fast as her aching legs could carry her and hope that she could reach the other side of the clearing in time where a new forest began; unlike the forest she had just left behind, though, the trees on the other side were colossal. Hundreds of feet tall at least—big enough to hide even bigger entities than what chased her. Making sure to avoid any and every puddle of murky water in her path, Ann jumped, zigged and zagged as quickly as her tiring legs would allow.

A devilish screech tore from the forest behind her, followed by the loud crashing of bark and leaf litter.

A pointed skull pierced out of the trees like a lance before gaping a mouth all but composed of thousands of curved, pointed teeth. Disgusting spittle flew from its maw as it screeched once more, pulling the rest of its two-legged body out of the woods. Ann didn’t dare look back and kept running, doing whatever possible to keep herself from stumbling or faltering in her sprint in the slightest. Every step counted more than ever now.

The devils had found her.

A second Skullcrawler emerged from the woods, this time much farther away to her left. It too howled its demented cry as it informed its fleeing prey that there was no escape. Ann kept running, despite the gut feeling within that told her she was done for. A feeling that only engorged when she felt the first thrumming footfalls as the Skullcrawlers broke into their charge.

Ann screamed. Not out of fear, not even out of sadness, but rage. Pure, hateful, burning rage for the demons that pursued her, for the devils that had murdered the crew of the USS Venture, murdered her friends and mocked her with their laughing voices. She hated these foul creatures with every fiber of her being, and she voiced it in a wordless shriek of sawing, wrathful agony. If it was the last thing she did before she met her demise, then it would be energy worth spent.

Within the woods on the other side of the clearing, a reptilian head rose up from the body of a dead Holy Tiger, lips caked in bloody meat as its huge nostrils flared to life. A deep growl rumbled from its scaly throat... ... ...

Ann, despite her impending doom, kept running. She would not surrender to the foul reptiles that hounded her in her time of dying; Ann Darrow would keep fighting to survive to the very end. Even when she knew she had very little if any chance at all of escaping, she would try. Doing well not to look anywhere but forward, she sprinted like an Olympic racer towards the only possible safety from the reptilian cretins. As she ran, she noticed that the grass began to dampen and sink further as the ground ahead of her seemed to turn to nothing but murky water. Her feet began to plunge and splash through the deepening marshes, slowing her movements.

This was not good.

Ann practically waded through the wetlands, desperately trying find areas of land to pick up momentum—and looked up to see a sight that made her eyes widen with terror. A third Skullcrawler perched atop a mountain peak ahead, staring at her with hungry eyes. A cold chill went through Ann’s body as the predator watched her coldly, knowing full well that it too had its sights set on her and her alone. Why it so craved a tiny morsel like her, she could not fathom. But whatever the twisted reason, it seemed that there was no escape. She now had the horrible predators on both sides... ... ...

Thunderous footfalls reverberated powerfully in quick succession to her left, and only now did she sum up the courage to look. And a terrifying sight her eyes beheld: the second Skullcrawler was now very close, and tensing to spring at her. A hideous screech echoed from above, causing Ann to look up with terror-stricken eyes as the third Skullcrawler finally leaped off its perch in an arc, sailing down towards her with jaws agape—

—before a powerful form exploded from the trees to grab the Skullcrawler by the neck in mid-air with powerful jaws!

Thick, sturdy teeth like giant butcher knives punctured the screaming lizard’s neck, tearing muscle and blood vessels and crunching bone with ease. The assailant shook the lizard in its jaws for a moment, before lifting to its full height, gaping its jaws and snapping again. With a sickening CRACK, the cretin’s head fell right off and landed right next to Ann, making the woman jump.

The decapitated jaws twitched twice, then went still.

The newcomer shook the headless corpse one more time, then threw it to the ground in a spray of bloody water. The other two Skullcrawlers temporarily backed away, while Ann looked up in amazement to look upon the creature. The scaly beast stood on two strong legs, a thick tail dragging behind it. Tiny arms held down on its muscular chest, its fingers occasionally twitching with anticipation. It’s head was absolutely massive, yet fit perfectly on its strong neck as it gaped its jaws filled with strong teeth. There was no mistaking what this creature was; just looking at it was enough. It was the very image of power, majesty and primordial fear given form. The King of the Dinosaurs, the greatest predator ever to walk the earth.

It was a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

No sooner than the mighty Meat Eater dropped her kill, did the second Skullcrawler bound towards her with the efficiency of a hunting leopard. With a single incredible leap, the lizard pounced upon the giant Meat Eater with ravenous resolve, landing upon her body and locking its tooth-filled jaws upon her neck. Rearing sideways from the impact, the dinosaur ROARED; a loud, powerful sound that blew the grasslands, shook the trees, rippled the water and made Ann quickly cover her ears lest she lose her sense of hearing.

Spoiler:
Gambler’s Gulch was in a panic.

A trail of destruction had been carved through the city, dismantled building and burning wreckage lining the streets as a terrible force of nature had reared its ugly head and made its presence known to the world. Civilians were rendered terrified, and military soldiers had been deployed both to aid the general populace, and to vainly attempt to halt the advance of that which currently was on a rampage.

Their efforts, as one might pessimistically expect, would prove fruitless.

Crushing a tank to a flattened slab of pulverized metal underfoot, Togera let out a trumpeting roar as he stood triumphantly within the heart of Gambler’s Gulch. Awakened by the atomic energies leaked by the alien saucers that had been bested by the military’s prowess in the past, the radioactive dinosaur was roused into action upon reaching Gambler’s Gulch, having full intention of razing the entire city to the ground in spite of the military’s best efforts. Tanks and aircraft had been deployed against the green goliath, but they all were taken down with almost disgusting ease by the spiked kaiju’s power.

It was this display of Togera’s might that prompted the human forces to make their next decision. Clearly, their usual troops were proving ineffective at subduing the threat at hand. It was time to take things up a notch.

The roar of jets overhead caught Togera’s attention as the emerald saurian was in the midst of furthering his destructive rampage, the kaiju turning his gaze skywards. A silvery figure descended from the heavens, supported by multiple jets that carried it with a line of cables. The newcomer was a machine, albeit one with a shape that bore more than a passing resemblance to some sort of prehistoric monster. Several rows of leaf-shaped dorsal spines ran down its back, its long tail held out behind it. Its eyes lit up with a golden glow as its systems went online, the mecha raised its clawed hands as it released a synthetic roar.

Kiryu stood tall as the jets disengaged and left the scene, the mecha having given its challenge to Togera, who was none too pleased about this change of events. Something about the newcomer unnerved the reptile slightly, as though there was something alive about him. Whatever the case, it just provoked Togera all the more into a battle eager state of mind, the reptile letting out his own bellowing cry in return as he protracted his wrist blades.

Spoiler:
Multiple buildings collapsed as three neon green and purple construction vehicles toppled them over. The bulldozer and front-end loader rammed into the concrete constructions with the crane hooking on to some, causing them to fall over into piles of hardened cement and glass.

Whether there were any bodies in the rubble was something that the Constructicons didn't care about.

The front-end loader stopped as one of the final buildings of the current row the Decepticons were working on had fallen. Parts shifted out from the green and purple construction vehicle, the scoop flipped to the back, wheels and panels moving into place.

Arms and legs that were just formed helped the giant robot up on his metal feet, scanning the work the group had done so far with his red visor, a silver faceplate covering his mouth and a purple Decepticon insignia matching his indigo chest.

The leader of the Constructicons; Scrapper, was pleased with the progress they were making.

"Long Haul! Scavenger! Get this rubble out of here now!" Scrapper ordered his underlings, causing the lime green dump truck and power shovel to hurry towards the fallen debris.

"I wish I was busting heads instead of picking up rocks!" Long Haul complained as Scavenger scooped concrete up from the ground and into the bed of the dump truck.

"Quit complaining, you big oaf!" The Constructicon material detector said before hitting the rubble, letting the truck know the load was full.

Scrapper sighed as he saw the two Constructicons bicker, turning to the cement mixer transforming to his robot mode beside him.

"Mixmaster. Do you have the cement ready to put the space bridge together?" The lead construction robot asked as his companion got to his feet, the mixing drum moving to his back as two cannons shifted to his head, showing his silver face with a black helmet and red optics.

"I do, but Long Haul's wish has just come true." The Constructicons' chemist answered, pointing to the skies to show a giant blue robot being carried by helicopters approaching.

Scrapper groaned as he saw the Jaeger hovering towards the group before the cables carrying the robot detached, letting it fall to the ground and land on its metal legs, the Jaeger's mighty fists helping it get up to its feet.

"I'll take care of this." The Constructicons' lead designer assured, putting his hand in front of Mixmaster to distance the two as he watched the human built robot quickly approach the Decepticons.

Becket and Mako looked down at the unified green and purple Constructions, watching others work in their vehicle forms while two of them stood at chest level with Gipsy Danger.

"What do you want, Jaeger?" Scrapper asked, venom coming from his raspy voice as he looked up at the non-sentient machine.

Becket looked at his partner, nodding at her in understanding before pressing a button on his helmet, allowing the speaker in the Jaeger to turn on.

"You need a warrant to destroy a city. Mind telling us what you're doing here?" Raleigh asked, taking his finger off of the button, hovering over it when he needed the opportunity to talk again.

"My face is my warrant! Now get out of here! We are building a space bridge for our glorious Lord Megatron!" Scrapper answered before reaching behind him to grab a gun coming out from a panel in his back.

"I'm not sure what a space bridge is but you're disturbing the peace and killing people. You and your friends need to get out of here, Shorty, or we're gonna have a problem." Becket explained, trying to add some levity to the situation.

"Shorty?! Who are you calling Shorty, you human infested Cretan?!" The Constructicon leader offendedly yelled at Gipsy, growling in anger as the inferior human inside of the machine dared to insult him.

Mako turned to her partner, giving him a look of confusion as she heard what he told their enemy.

"Why would you call him Shorty?!" She asked, having the hindsight to know what it would lead to.

"Becket. Why would you call him Shorty?! You pissed him off!" Stacker's voice repeated through the speaker in their helmets.

"I'll show you who's Shorty!" Scrapper announced angrily, stomping his metal foot on the ground, breaking the concrete to get his fellow Constructicons' attention.

The green construction vehicles immediately stopped what they were doing, turning towards their leader in anticipation of any orders.

"Constructicons! Unite!" The head designer of the group commanded, steam coming from his pipes as he transformed into his vehicle mode.

Scrapper didn't just stop at becoming a loader, the shovel of the vehicle hit the ground before raising the entire body of the front-end loader up, keeping it in place with a part in the back forming to hit the ground as well.

Mixmaster was next, his parts moving to turn into a cement mixer, doing the same as his commander with the front of the truck staying put on the ground and the body moving upwards to snap into place.

Long Haul leapt into the air with a surprising amount of distance for his size, parts shifting and turning to perfectly link with the two vehicles below him.

The crane and head engineer of the group; Hook, did the same as his teammate, jumping into the air to move his parts around, the jib going to the back of the newly formed body.

Scavenger and the mighty bulldozer: Bonecrusher were the final components, jumping up to link themselves on to the left and right side of the titanic body, parts moving around and snapping to resemble arms.

Random purple pieces from each Constructicon were used to form a chest shield and more armor between the bulky legs while hands swiveled out of the newly created arms. A dark head with an obsidian helmet and crimson visor slid up from the shoulders, glaring down at Gipsy Danger at an impressive height of 125 meters.

"Nothing defeats the Devastator! Nothing!" Devastator's booming voice announced to the Jaeger, smashing a nearby building in a show of strength, shattering it instantly.

You know what, GVZ, that inspired me to dust off an old work of mine.....
Spoiler:
The island of Okinawa was a beautiful paradise. It’s seas sparkled blue as the blinding sun beat down on it. Long pastures on rolling hills matched the blue with their own startling green, all of them dotted with tourists, locals and animals going about their day. However, on the other side of the island, a great commotion was stirring. The ocean bubbled and shook as giant forms began to burst from the waves onto a forgotten sandy beach far from the tourist side. The few birds on the score scattered as the giants finally reached the shore.

It was a good thing there was no one on the beach for none of them would have believed what came ashore. They were robots. Massive hulking robots decked out in both gunmetal steel and garish mixes of colors ranging from teal blue to burgundy gold to crimson red. The fact they were robots was odd enough but as they shook water off of them it became clearer there was more. For these were not just robots, but Dinobots! Each of the robots took the form of an antiquated dinosaur, straight out of the 80s: a plodding brontosaur, a jagged stegosaur, a ornery looking triceratops and in the front, leading the charge, a upright scowling tyrannosaur.

The brontosaur suddenly shifted in on itself, parts whirring and clicking, before becoming a humanoid robot in the same colors which began to violently slap it’s head, a cartoonish exaggeration of one clearing their ears of water.

“Sludge no like water! Sludge get stomp water?”

The tyrannosaur proceeded to turn and bellow at the former sauropod before whacking him with his tail.

“SLUDGE, NO TRANSFORM! DINOBOTS ON WRECK-OWN-A-CENTS. BE SNEAKY! ME GRIMLOCK KING, SAY YOU GO BACK TO DINOBOT” the theropod roared as a chastised Sludge changed back.

“Slag no know why Grimlock listen to Prime” The Triceratops snapped both figuratively and literally though his beak. “Slag think we just stomp Decepticons, no rek-own-a-cents”

“ME GRIMLOCK NO LISTEN TO PRIME! ME GRIMLOCK FEEL BAD FOR PRIME. ME GRIMLOCK HELP HIM BECAUSE AUTOBOTS WEAK, DINOBOTS STRONG!”

Further argument among the group was cut by a screech. Grimlock, Snarl, Slag and Sludge looked up as a shiny metal pterosaur landed gracefully before them, quickly transforming into another robot.

“SWOOP! WHAT YOU SEE?”

The robot gave a salute to Grimlock before responding.

“Many humans, Grimlock. Me see machine Bumblebee mentioned. Think Dinobots can stomp easy without getting attention”

Grimlock nodded his head and growled happily. Despite his speech pattern, the gruff barbarian was not stupid. He knew the Dinobots would not be conspicuous and that their mission had to be carried out quickly. The Dinobot’s “king” prided himself on being the greatest of the Autobots and knew succeding this mission would help them finally beat the Decepticons. Optimus Prime would probably give Grimlock his place as leader, for such a strong and heroic win! Thank Primus he had decided to do it on his own when he heard Wheeljack mention it, otherwise he and the Dinobots would have never saved the day.

“ME GRIMLOCK GLAD HEAR! COME DINOBOTS. WE STOMP DECEPTICON MACHINE!”

With that battle cry and a chorus of roars, the Transformers marched off to their destination.

Destroyah’s pillar-like legs fractured the molten ground, large shards of rock flying with every footfall. Diablo, however, was charging up one of his many burning attacks, Torch. He just needed enough charge, and the attack would last up to five seconds. Both dinosaur and colony of microscopic creatures neared, but before they could collide, Diablo disappeared in a burst of fire, his Inferno Flash. Destroyah slid to a halt, disbelief visible in his yellow eyes. Another burst of fire appeared to the monster’s left, revealing the red dinosaur. As Destroyah turned, Diablo unleashed his charged Torch. The wave of fire blasted Destroyah right in the strange floral pattern on his gut, the heat burning Destroyah’s red and white carapace. The Perfect Lifeform screamed in pain as white-hot pain ripped throw his frame. As the flames died down, Destroyah twisted and lashed out with his clawed tail, wrapping it around the Rex’s neck and using the claw on the end to clamp down on a segment on his tail, securing the limb. Before Diablo could act, pulses of yellow energy coursed through the limb, zapping the reptile. Gritting his teeth, Diablo used his Inferno Flash to escape, the flames burning the carapace of Destroyah’s tail.

Diablo reappeared a short distance to Destroyah’s right, panting slightly, his neck burned. This creature packed a punch. Diablo grinned toothily, he liked a good fight. Smoke billowed from his nostrils before the blood-red dino spat out a fireball, only for Destroyah to swat the burning projectile aside as he charged, making a strange noise Diablo couldn’t place his claw on. He didn’t have time to figure it out, as Destroyah lowered his shoulder, intending on impaling the dinosaur with the spine on his shoulder.

Spoiler:
The Shatterdome, Hong Kong. 7:00 P.M.

Tendo Choi was in a hurry. His heart felt as if it were beating at the speed of light, sweat running down his head as he ran through the corridors as fast as his legs could carry him. He had to find Stacker Pentecost; everyone had to get going fast. Jaegers had do be deployed immediately, given what he had seen. His footfalls echoed throughout the hallways as he rushed like the world depended on it—which it surely did as far as he was concerned—towards the elevator. Speeding past several soldiers and rangers, he quickly burst into the elevator and slammed the button, causing the doors to close and the elevator to begin its course.

He paced almost painfully as he waited, as seconds seemed to pass like hours.

The world couldn’t afford this wait. It needed everyone to act NOW.

*****

“You want to run that by me again?!” Pentecost exclaimed with raised eyes.

“Three signatures, sir. Left the breach approximately twenty minutes ago,” Tendo repeated, a little slower than before. Stacker slowly let his gaze fall, taking a deep breath at this new revelation. It was an alarming matter all on its own when just a single Kaiju made itself known to the world. The thought of two running amok was a horror. But three had the potential to be downright apocalyptic should a Jaeger fail to stop them.

“What category?” Pentecost asked.

“Scans say two are Category IV, and one is Category V.”

“And where are they headed?”

“Well, that’s the thing: they changed course mid-way to their original destination.”

At this, the Marshal turned to him, eyes narrowed considerably. “How so?” he asked.

“They came through at 6:40 and started heading towards the Philippines,” Tendo explained, “but five minutes in and they suddenly veered north. It’s like they were startled or something. Either way, they’re headed towards Tokyo at double their original speed.”

Pentecost nodded in understanding, a tense expression on his face. Tendo continued to stare at him with grim urgency, more than ready to respond to his superior’s orders. Finally, after what seemed like forever, he spoke.

“Get Mr. Becket, Mako, Herc and Chuck on the line. Tell them to suit up.”

*****

The control room was crowded with staff and soldier alike in but ten minutes after the announcement. Everyone muttered nervously amongst themselves as they waited for Pentecost or Tendo to show up and give whatever important news they had for everyone.

Surprisingly, both strode into the room in but five minutes.

Mako Mori noticed immediately that her adoptive father was troubled. He was trying to hide it with his usual stoic demeanor, but while it may have fooled everyone else in the room it couldn’t fool her. She knew that particular look in his eyes anywhere. Something urgent had come up, and everyone needed to know about it.

Next to her, Raleigh Becket stole a concerned glance at her, to which she returned with a nod. They both knew what each other was thinking. Apparently she wasn’t the only one who could tell something was up.

“Alright everyone, listen up,” Tendo raised his voice as everyone went quiet. “We had three signatures emerge from the breach at 18:40 hours. Two Category IV’s, one Category V. Codenames: Otatchi, Leatherback, and Slattern. Estimated they’ll hit Tokyo in about an hour if they keep up their current pace.”

With that, Pentecost turned towards Mako, who met his gaze. “Gipsy,” he turned towards Chuck Hansen, who stood on the other side of the circle, “Striker, you’re both being deployed to guard the Tama-gawa and the Ara-kawa Rivers.”

“Yes, sir,” Raleigh responded with a nod.

Pentecost turned towards everyone else. When no one gave a reply, he put his hand to his ear. Noticing what he meant by the gesture, everyone responded with a clear “YES SIR!” in unison. With that, he looked towards Tendo and Hercules, nodded once, and turned back to the crowd.

“Let’s get to work!” He called out with a clap of his hands.

*****

Raleigh opened his eyes in unison with Mako as the Neural Handshake, The Drift, came to completion. “Left Hemisphere, calibrating,” he spoke up as he moved his left arm up, and on command the massive left arm of Gipsy Danger copied the motion.

“Right Hemisphere, calibrating” Mako moved her right arm in the same position, the Jaeger they stood within doing the same. Then, thinking as one, the two pilots moved their respective hemispherical limbs towards one another, and Gipsy smashed her two fists together with a mighty CLANG!

Behind the giant humanoid machine a similar one just like it, but slightly shorter in height and with a much narrower facial visor and small protrusions coming from the back of its shoulders, pulled out its fists in its own pose as its pilots finished their own Neural Handshake.

Gipsy Danger and Striker Eureka were ready for war.

Tokyo, Japan; 7:45 P.M.

Raleigh fixed Mako with a concerned gaze as he watched his co-pilot close her eyes, taking deep breaths in an attempt to relax and keep painful memories at bay. While she appeared to be doing far better than she had during her first drift, he could still tell that she was straining to keep herself focused. Reaching out to her, he put a hand on her shoulder. “I know this is hard for you,” he spoke softly. “Visiting a place that changed you, that you’ve never touched on in years... ... ...it’s always a moment of trial.”

Mako did not reply, simply continued her exercise for however long she was content with. While Raleigh’s concern for her well being remained, he did take note that her breathing rate seemed to be relaxing, ushering a wave of relief over him.

“Raleigh, is she doing okay?” Tendo’s voice crackled into existence from the comms. “Her heart rate has increased above average!”

“I’m fine,” she finally responded, taking one more deep breath to soothe herself before her eyes fluttered open. “I just needed to bring it under control.” As Raleigh watched, the once somber look in her eyes became replaced by her usual gaze of fierce determination, a sight of which brought a slight smile to his face. In response, the frequent beeping of her heartbeat monitors slowed back to a steady pace to accommodate for the change. “No movement yet at Tama-gawa,” she informed Tendo through the comms.

“Striker, how you holding up?”

“Ara-kawa is secure,” was Chuck Hansen’s answer. “If anything tries to come through here, it ain’t goin’ by unnoticed.”

“How long until they reach the harbor?” Hercules asked into the comms.

“I’ve checked their signatures, they shouldn’t be long!” Tendo responded.

“And we’re sure evacuations have finished? No stragglers?”

“That’s what we’ve been told. We must trust the report from the field,” Stacker informed him. Taking a breath, Hercules looked to his son and nodded as they continued moving their humanoid mech along the coast, their searchlights on full brightness as they waited for their adversaries to show their ugly faces.

Gipsy Danger froze in accommodation to her pilots when they spotted a commotion in the oceanic distance. “Striker, are you seeing this?” Raleigh called out as he and Mako got into combat stances.

“We see it! Preparing combat positions!” Chuck informed them as Striker Eureka struck his own pose. A sizable distance away, three bioluminescent lights could be seen making their way towards land. The distinct blue glow that they gave off revealed their unmistakable identity—however, that wasn’t what held the Jaeger pilots’ attention.

Farther behind the trio of glows was yet another series of lights entirely. But unlike the others, these lights were a ghostly white in color, and randomly seemed to flicker on and off, on and off. He didn’t know why, but there was something about those lights that unnerved Raleigh. The lights of the Kaiju were automatically guaranteed to fuel his hatred for the beasts and thus prepare him for combat, but these lights felt...alien. Haunting. Uncanny. Spectral, even. He and Mako shared a glance, and her expression told him everything.

They’d had never seen anything like it.

It was then that the bay suddenly exploded in a torrent of saltwater, and three colossal forms emerged with alien screeches. The Jaegers jolted as they prepared for combat, but instead got a most shocking surprise. Two of the Kaiju seemed to be carrying a third over their shoulders as they rushed straight at the city, seemingly not even paying attention to the mechs guarding it. Gipsy moved to block their path, but the beasts simply turned about and galloped along the edges of the bay, trying to find a way in. Raleigh couldn’t believe his eyes. It actually looked as though the foul beasts were trying to run!

But from what?

Otatchi loosed a screech of pain as yet another contraction waved through her lower region, Leatherback growling reassurances to her as he and Slattern desperately searched for a way into the city. They needed a way in, and fast. Leatherback didn’t dare activate his electromagnetic pulse; it would surely attract unwanted attention, and as of this moment that was the last thing they needed.

Slattern’s eyes widened as he spotted an opening. Hissing to his companions, he then proceeded to take a quick look behind—and jolted when he saw that the glowing lights were almost right on top of them. They needed to move NOW.

He was coming.

Roaring, Slattern and Leatherback put on a burst of speed as they dashed for the opening. Striker Eureka sprinted to block them, but with a single motion Slattern sent the robot flying aside with a swing of his tails. With their adversary temporarily out of the way, the Kaiju wasted no time in rushing into the city, another pained roar leaving Otatchi’s lungs as she was hit with yet another contraction. Her brethren slowed their movement as they made deeper into the city, and eventually Slattern took notice of a nice, comfortable spot for the mother-to-be to introduce her progeny to the world. Lumbering over to this soft spot, obscured by towers of concrete and glass perfect to hide from the unknown, at last the two Kaiju set their exhausted companion down before keeping low themselves as to remain hidden, standing protectively over Otatchi as she lowered her nether region to the ground.

The winged monster growled and groaned in pain as she went into labor.

The pain was excruciating, but Otatchi muscled through it. She needed to push the baby out now—there was no time to take it slowly. There were already two adversaries to worry about, and soon yet another would make His arrival. It was a most laboring process, but it would be worth it. Her cloaca at last began to expand as the elephant-sized life form began to slide out; first a tail, then the underdeveloped legs, then the blue-coated upper body and the premature wings.

A final bellow vented from her jaws as the head finally was pushed out, and Otatchi grumbled her gratitude that the worst was over. Slowly pushing itself up off the street with its underdeveloped arms, the newborn began to screech its cries to the world, but soon was nudged under her mother’s body for protection. Now was no time to make such noise.

The water offshore began to boil, the ghostly white luminescence brighter than ever. Even through the buildings, all three Kaiju could see it. Gipsy Danger took a moment to scope out the beastly trio amidst the concrete jungle, and saw that they were hunkering down in an effort to remain unseen. A cold chill went down Raleigh’s spine as he took in the sight of three Kaiju—THREE—cowering in fear.

“It’s that bad?” Mako gasped beside him.

As if to confirm their fears, the comms went wild with Tendo’s terror-stricken voice. “I’m getting a fourth signature, emerging from Tokyo Bay!” he screeched.

“What category is it?!” Hercules roared, desperate to get a grasp on the situation. For the longest, most suspenseful ten seconds in all their lives, there was utter silence. Even back at the Shatterdome, the room was quieter than a graveyard. Everyone held their breath as they got a glimpse of what they were up against, a reaction soon to be shared by the pilots they looked up to more than ever now.

Finally, Tendo’s voice gave a reply, and it was one all of them would’ve given anything not to hear.

“Category 10.”

Before any more could be said, the ground began to vibrate with a rhythmic, bomb-like pounding. Both Jaegers stood still as statues; their pilots frozen with shocked anxiety as the ominous tremors, each one four seconds apart, grew louder each time, as its source drew unmistakably closer.

Another eerie white glow flickered in the shallows... ... ...and then, with another tremor, a massive form began to rise up from the bay in a rushing flow of water. As it rose into view, the entity rumbled a deep, sonorous growl. A gigantic beast now stood waist-high in the bay, glaring at the opposition with an eerie gaze. The creature looked like an old reconstruction of a tyrannosaurus or allosaurus, with three rows of maple leaf-shaped plates of bone running down its back like an ivory forest; an attribute which reminded Raleigh of a stegosaurus in that regard.

But the creature’s physical appearance told a more horrific, bone-chilling story.

The monster’s brown skin looked scaly at first, but upon closer inspection Raleigh and Mako realized that wasn’t the case at all. They were radioactive burns; keloid scars. The saurian’s skin was entirely composed of them, rough and textured sickeningly like tree bark. The monster looked, for all intents and purposes, like a walking burnt corpse. Massive jaws bared snake-like fangs in a snarl as the beast waded ashore, revealing his muscular, columnar legs and four-toed feet that shook the earth with every step.

“What the hell is that thing?!” Chuck yelled over the intercom.

“It doesn’t look like its from the breach!” Raleigh exclaimed in reply. Their minds communicating and thus coming to the same course of action, Raleigh and Mako nodded to one another as Gipsy Danger struck a pose to accommodate to their thoughts. A few hundred yards away, Striker Eureka followed along as he prepared for combat.

And then the dinosaur reared back it’s head... ... ...

GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!!!!

The otherworldly howl that tore from the beast’s gaping jaws was unlike anything even the most experienced Jaeger pilots had ever heard. Like a warped mixing of different musical instruments being incorrectly played over a speaker; a haunting, unnatural baritone scream that obliterated all glass objects for miles. The Jaegers held their positions, their pilots more nervous than ever. Far away, the three Kaiju huddled close together in terror, even the newborn infant unable to move.

From within the Shatterdome, Tendo could barely loose a breath as he observed the situation their rangers had found themselves in. Now it all made sense why the Kaiju had changed course mid-way to their original destination. Now it was clear why they had swum so fast to Japan.

They had been chased.

Dear God Almighty, what are we dealing with here? Tendo internally pondered.

But as of now, it mattered not. Everyone within the Shatterdome stood in grim silence as the newcomer’s clawed feet finally touched land with an eerie bang, and one by one they mentally uttered the most protective and passionate prayers they could think of for their comrades on the field. It had only been a minute or so, and already the feeling that it was no ordinary foe that they were up against had set in.

Dark eyes scanned coldly across the edge of the city. Binocular vision that would put even the greatest birds of prey to shame pinpointed every object in the vicinity, buildings or no. And then, they stopped when they spotted their intended quarry. A good several hundred meters away, the beast could make out three large shapes trying to conceal themselves behind the largest towers of concrete in the ward. Baleful eyes locking on to their victims, Godzilla grunted and began his march.
"William Knifeman! AH! AH! AH!"

Now that’s a damn fine trailer, for sure looking forward to this one.

I know the rules say no revealing who dies, but I think in the case of a non-combatant, it’s fine ;)

“This is big, people, big! The government’s gonna tell you this was just a weather balloon or swamp gas or any of the other crap on the long list of excuses they got, but that footage is clear as crystal! This UFO was a craft of some kind, and it was right next to an Apex facility! So either they’re working on some experimental tech that makes the government look like they’re from a thousand years ago, or bonafide aliens are here and taking more than a passing interest in Apex! And if you’ve listened to a single episode of this podcast, that should terrify you! Especially if—“

“Simmons,” Came a deep, masculine voice. “It is time.”

The close-to-elderly CEO took his phone out of rest mode, paused the podcast, and took out his earbuds. He chuckled as left the two little devices next to his advanced smartphone. “How does he always get it so right?”

The dark-skinned man opposite him, with short, black hair and adorned in a silvery suit, raised an eyebrow inquisitively.

“That podcast host I was telling you about, ‘Mad Truth’ he calls himself. He finally got around to talking about the footage of your vessels landing.” Apex’s founder revealed as he got to his feet.

“Is that going to be an issue?” The bulky alien questioned, joining Simmons as they walked out of the CEO’s office.

“No need to panic, Galu-Gu. He’s entertaining and manages to strike on genuine truth often, but he deludes himself and his listeners with things I’m quite sure he just makes up. Last episode, he claimed that Apex was putting Titan DNA in food!” He chuckled.

The Bilusaludian joined him in light laughter. “Hence why we chose to come to your company and it alone. Your kind as a whole is not ready for us and what we bring.”

“On that, we agree fully. But the time will come when all of humanity is ready, and the process to initiate that starts today.

“With the death of Godzilla.”

They entered an enclosed platform, overlooking a vast chamber. The young man of Japanese descent already within greeted the two with a nod, which they reciprocated.

“Ren,” Simmons began, “I take it you have already uploaded all the needed knowledge to the AI?”

“The Zalu-zi Type 1 Modified has been given all the necessary data to kill any Titans, including Godzilla. Once in battle, it’ll know every detail humanity knows about its foe, and thanks to our ‘dear friends’ at Monarch, that means almost everything.”

“Excellent!” Mulu-Elu Galu-Gu exclaimed. “Then it is just a matter of executing the operation.”

He, along with the two humans, looked through the glass wall to see the fruits of their labor. Lights flickered to life inside the vast chamber, revealing a towering construct of alien metal. It held a bipedal stance, resembling a theropod dinosaur. Countless spikes coated its body, making it look unapproachable from any angle. A lengthy tail ending in a blade trailed behind it, metal protrusions like knives running down its back from the tail to the base of the neck. The head had what resembled an ant’s mandibles, above which were glowing eyes of red.

“Mechagodzilla… it’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Ren asked, his two compatriots agreeing immediately.

The Bilusaludo were a race of aliens whose homeworld had been destroyed by a rogue black hole entering their star system, forcing them into a pilgrimage through the stars in search of a new world to call home. Their journeys had brought them to Earth, where the technological prowess of Apex Cybernetics attracted them into forging an alliance. Almost immediately, a project had begun between the two, one seeking to purge the world of the colossi that humanity called Titans, in order to ensure that human and Bilusaludo ruled the world unopposed. The extraterrestrials offered their technological knowledge and their immensely versatile and powerful “nanometal”, while Apex offered their knowledge of the Titans and sources of power.

Twelve engines, originally designed to power three anti-gravity vehicles for an expedition to the Hollow Earth, supplied energy to the colossal construct of nanometal. An AI designed by the greatest minds of both races controlled it, supplied with all the knowledge it would need to combat its targets. Numerous weapons were already built in, and the malleability of nanometal meant it could make new weapons if need be.

It was the perfect Titan killing machine. A slayer of gods.

Simmons went to a cabinet, grabbing three glasses and a bottle of bourbon. He filled each glass, handing the other two to his comrades. “Gentlemen, to a new era of reason and progress, built upon the bones of primitive deities!”

They clinked the glasses together, sealing the pact, and drank.

One could be forgiven for believing that it was just a mountain surrounded by a redwood forest. It looked that way, but appearance was often deceiving.

Simmons, Ren, Galu-Gu, and the Bilusaludian leader, Halu-Elu Dolu-Do, watched on a monitor in the comfort of the headquarters as Apex agents placed dynamite in strategic points around the base of the towering object. The intention of this was not to destroy the entity, merely to awaken a beast that predated both civilizations by millions of years.

Godzilla, the Alpha Titan, had the entire world as his territory. His place of slumber was deep, deep where no man could reach, ensuring that when he was not in action, he was untouchable. So, he had to be drawn out to where they could fight him. So, how did one grab a king’s attention?

By assaulting his subjects.

At Simmons’ command, the explosives detonated all at once. The ground shuddered, not from the blast, but from over a hundred-thousand tons shifting and rising. From the mountain came a head, with colossal horns, a tail on the other side extending out. Limbs like pillars lifted it into the air, powerful appendages that could crush anything in his path.

Methuselah roared in confusion and shock, disturbed of his slumber. He began to march, crushing the towering trees and reducing them to splinters as he searched for the aggressor.

Visitors to the forest ran in droves, terrified of the Titan’s awakening.

“Now that the big bad monster has inexplicably woken up and started terrorizing the forest, let’s have our knight in shining armor arrive!” Simmons declared, colossal doors opening above Mechagodzilla. The immeasurably complex machine shifted with artificial life, looking up towards the sunlight above. Rockets in its legs and soles activated, lifting its sixty-thousand tons into the air. The whole facility shuddered as it exited, the doors closing behind it to block out the sunlight.

It only took a few minutes for Mechagodzilla to arrive at its destination. Social media ignited like a pile of dry wood with a match thrown into it as thousands witnessed its flight, the whole world learning about the artificial Titan in a matter of minutes.

Methuselah, still roaming through the forest confused, roared in shock when the metallic colossus landed before him. Trees and dirt flew like dust in the wind as it skidded across the ground, extending both arms forward. Wrist-mounted cannons opened fire, prompting the living mountain to cry out in terror and pain as the projectiles exploded against his face and shell.

Mechagodzilla stopped moving, allowing it to ignite its boosters yet again, superheated blades extending from above its hands. The benevolent Titan cried out in panic, lowering his head and charging forward as it was all he could think to do.

The nanometal daggers tore through Methuselah’s horns, embedding themselves in the mountainous shell on both sides of his head. The colossus screamed in agony, crimson matter and veins being visible in the stumps.

Far away, in the ocean depths, two eyes opened wide, blazing with hatred.

“You know, this Titan, Methuselah, it is known to carry animals and people en masse away from disasters to a safer place. It will also use its body to shield entire populations from other Titans.” Simmons casually said to his associates.

Dolu-Do scoffed. “If they cannot escape on their own, they do not deserve to survive.”

Ren was similarly dismissive. “The best service it can do for nature is to die, like every other one of these beasts.”

Mechagodzilla pulled its blades free, then crossed its arms. Like an executioner, it severed Methuselah’s head from his body with a single strike, ending a legacy of eons.

***

In the ocean depths, a leviathan stirred. Massive spines ran down his back, shimmering with blue light. Musculature of unimaginable strength flexed beneath armor and scale which had remained firm under a million strikes. A low growl rumbled forth from his throat, shaking the cavern walls.

His kingdom was in danger, his allies being put to the blade. He could tell from the unnatural, hollow feeling of the new entity that it was a being born of human minds. Humanity was capable of wondrous feats, but unfortunately, wondrous did not always equal good.

Godzilla took off, swimming at incredible speeds despite a bulk of almost one hundred-thousand tons.

I will say I was kind of hoping this would go 1974 with Methuselah instead of Caesar but still. Fantastic.

Spoiler:
Two minutes. No longer, no less.

In just two minutes, New York had suffered more damage than it had from the original Godzilla attack in 1998 in two days. Entire skyscrapers had been smashed in on themselves and sent collapsing to the ground as nothing more than piles of rubble and shattered glass that crushed all unlucky enough to be beneath them. Shockwaves tore apart dozens of even the strongest towers of concrete and steel in a mere second, and a second later twelve more had fallen from grace as a crimson blur sped through the great metropolis on two leather wings, leaving a rippling wave of destructive fury in its wake. The air warped wherever it flew as the blur shot through the maze of buildings, obliterating them merely by flying past them without so much as touching them. Then, with a flap of its wings, it shot upwards like a missile and decimated everything in a three hundred-meter radius.

The giant Pteranodon thundered an echoing roar as he sped through the night sky, the full moon illuminating his monstrous silhouette for a moment before he then dove back down into the city. The King of the Skies howled menacingly as he rocketed right past the recently-repaired Chrysler Building; rather than slicing off its top half, though, this time the entire building itself burst apart before caving in on itself, transforming from a revered monolith into a collapsing mass of concrete rubbish.

From afar, horrified eyes watched from the distance of Staten Island as the crimson pterosaur rampaged. Doctor Nick Tatopolous, team leader of Humanitarian Environmental Analysis Team, was a veteran of many battles against mutated aberrations of nature created by human hands, had seen many monstrous giants of all sorts tearing apart human populaces throughout his team’s history as an Anti-Kaiju fighting force. But none of the past giants he and his team—his family—had faced, was anything compared to what he was seeing tearing apart the Big Apple before his very eyes. This beast was not a new one—or at least, not in the eyes of the world. No, it was one of the true giants from the Earth Defense Force’s records, one of the entities of the past that had ravaged Japan in the early days of the history of monsters. And worst of all, it wasn’t just any Kaiju; it was one of the most powerful on record.

Rodan.

The crimson reptile roared a powerful cackle as he swiped through the city yet again, tearing yet another two dozen buildings with a mere supersonic flyby and obliterating them off the face of the earth in explosions of rock and steel. Even with the light pollution of New York, Rodan’s emerald eyes glowed with predatory eye-shine as he vented his unexpected fury on the Big Apple... ... ...and a realization came to Nick. There were two people he knew somewhere still in the city—and completely in the line of fire that had just been drawn.

“Monique, get the H.E.A.T. Seeker ready!” Nick ordered as he raced towards the garage of a dock. “Mendel and Elsie are still in the city!”

*****

From the moment that first roar echoed from the gaping beak of the winged monster, Elsie Chapman had never heard a more terrifying sound in her life. But what affrighted her even more was how astonishingly fast Rodan flew about the City That Never Sleeps; one moment the King of the Skies was there, an unfathomably colossal winged shadow obscuring the view of the heavens as his bulk outlined a monstrous silhouette below the full moon, and the next he was gone—and entire buildings and city blocks were exploding in his supersonic wake. Flames bloomed to paint the overhead view a beautifully horrific orange, contrasting with dots of rubble that rained down from the skies that the terrible pterosaur now patrolled. Elsie covered her arms best she could while simultaneously twisting and weaving in and out of the way of the falling shards of debris and glass, doing her best to avoid being slammed or pierced by the shattered remnants of skyscrapers that had been fully intact a mere two seconds ago.

But she was not alone.

Behind her, Doctor Mendel Craven yelped as a rather large chunk of rock crashed right next to him, narrowly avoiding a painful predicament. However, a following quake in the earth’s crust knocked a fleeing couple right off their feet, now in danger of potentially being trampled to death by the stampeding crowds fleeing Rodan’s rampage. His usual cowardice forgotten for the moment, Craven rushed over and quickly helped the two individuals to their feet, the pair thanking him before taking their leave in the best way they could.

Yet another terrifying bellow echoed through the night sky as Rodan’s monstrous silhouette sped across the full moon, diving back into the deepest recesses of the city to continue his rampage.

But even that frightful sound wasn’t enough to stop the robotics scientist from doing what needed to be done.

“MENDEL! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!” Elsie roared as she saw her beloved date set to typing rapidly away on a small handheld laptop.

“WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?!” Mendel shrieked back as he continued typing away the necessary commands—and in short order, a high-pitched ringing noise suddenly pierced the sound barrier, a sequence of ultrasonic frequencies that extended for miles despite their seemingly limited sound travel.

Elsie’s eyes widened in realization. Now she understood... ... ...

BOOM!

A pair of clawed sledgehammers for feet smashed down upon the ground, the resultant impact knocking both H.E.A.T. Scientists off their feet. Elsie shook her head with a painful groan, drifting her fingers over a splotch of blood pouring from a scrape on her scalp. But before she could take such a wound into account, a monstrous cry echoed powerfully across the Big Apple, causing her and her partner to look in the direction of the terrible sound. Towering above nearly all skyscrapers in the vicinity, Rodan glared down the street at the remnant crowds of human beings that still fled his presence—and Elsie realized only now that they too were in his line of sight. An earth-rattling rumble echoed from Rodan’s throat as his embers eyes locked onto the tiny scientists, and even from a distance the gigantic pterosaur looked more threatening than ever.

“Uh, Mendel...” Elsie stuttered with widened eyes and a body all but paralyzed with terror, “I think you dialed the wrong number... ... ...”

Rodan cawed a hissing shriek at the humans as he began to lumber towards them, green eyes seemingly glowing with predatory eye shine.

*****

The water offshore burst into a geyser that leaped hundreds of meters into the night sky—and mere seconds before it could even begin to rain back down, a lithe and agile shape leaped bodily out of the underwater kingdom with a famous cry that the city recognized more than any other. A dinosaurian giant clad in blackish-purple scaly skin landed upon the earth with an all-resounding THUD! and silenced the citywide commotion with a fearless roar from his boxy jaws. Curved forward-facing spines adorning his huge back like a great crown of bone, strong legs flexing their lean muscles like a reptilian ninja, the irradiated lizard immediately sprung into action when a familiar scream reached his ears, one he never wanted to hear but knew by experience, and sped into the city at the greatest speeds a terrestrial animal had ever achieved.

His family was in terrible danger.

*****

Rodan loomed colossal as he lumbered towards the two H.E.A.T. scientists like an impending giant of doom, massive wings spread like the cape of a sadistic vampire. Elsie screamed in horror as she tried to run, but the pterodactyloid’s booming footfalls knocked her on her knees every time as he drew ever closer, and a shadow draped over them like the blanket of Death about to claim them here and now... ... ...

An angry roar exploded into audible existence as a 90-meter tall body suddenly rounded the avenue from the opposite side of the pterosaur. Fiery orange eyes widened with equal parts familial fear and vengeful bloodlust upon seeing the flying reptile’s targets.

Oh, no. Not today!

With a savage roar, the mutated iguana closed the distance between him and the crimson pterosaur in a second, bashing him in the throat with his boxy skull and knocking him down the street with a surprised cackle.

Nobody touched his adopted aunt and uncle!

“Godzilla!” Mendel gasped as he looked up at the reptilian giant that now stood protectively over them, taking one moment to look upon them to make sure they were okay. Then, the Lizard King turned his ferocious gaze back to the King of the Skies, who was now returning to his feet with an angry rumble.

“Come on, let’s go!” Elsie exclaimed as she grabbed Mendel’s arm. “You hate it when it gets violent!”

“Yeah, no kidding!” Craven cried back as they broke into a run.

*****

Godzilla dragged his talons slowly through the concrete he stood upon, digging three great trenches of imploded rock and tar as he eyed his winged foe. Across from him, Rodan now stood at his full intimidating height, glowering upon the Mutation of Mutations with eyes green as newborn grass. The Giant Monster of the Skies was truly gigantic, bigger than any foe H.E.A.T.’s champion had faced before. Bigger than even Godzilla. And worse yet, Godzilla would not be receiving any aid in facing the winged juggernaut of a pterosaur. He was on his own this time. On his own and about to tangle with the most powerful adversary he had yet faced. The so-called “King of the Monsters” growled, eyes furrowing into a glare.

So be it.

New York’s Champion roared into the face of defeat, tail swishing like a maddened serpent. Across from him, Rodan spread his wings and answered with a powerful screech that rebounded into the night.

Reflexes snapping, Godzilla broke into a sprint towards the giant Pteranodon, waiting until the last moment to suddenly duck low and smash open the ground in front of him, sending a cloud of dust and concrete into Rodan’s surprised face and giving Godzilla the opportunity to lunge upwards with roaring jaws agape... ... ...

... ... ...which was cut short when Rodan’s clawed foot lashed through the gray dust to kick him in the face.

Spoiler:
The Pacific ocean was full of all sorts of exotic wildlife specially adapted to survive within its vast desert of water. Many of these species had existed for thousands, if not millions of years, faring to varying degrees depending on how they fared against mankind’s follies. On this day, the sky had only a few clouds to cover it, allowing the sun to let its ever important rays down upon the world below and creating a dazzling display of sparkles across the water’s surface.

Below the waves, however, a being propelled itself through the water, the likes of whom certainly wasn’t nearly as appealing to look at. His wide eyes perpetually stared forward, that combined with his gaping toothy maw certainly creating a rather unnerving image for many who were to witness it. His long tail undulated through the saltwater, pushing him forward. His light yellow skin was accentuated by his blood red back lined with leaf shaped spines, his gills occasionally spurting blood as he swam.

Kamata paid no heed to the many scavenging fish that trailed behind him in pursuit of his blood. The young Godzilla stayed focused on his destination at hand, whatever that was being a mystery to everyone else. Never blinking, Kamata kept swimming at a steady pace, giving effectively no regard to anything around him.

And so he didn’t notice that yet another fish took interest in him.

Her finned tail helped her fly through the water much the same as Kamata, her curved fins helping to keep her steady. The newcomer was a member of Carcharinidae, a Bull Shark, and her interest was rather piqued. The blood of the strange beast she followed from below had lured her in with its enticing aroma, her physiological motivation to feed compelling her to track down the source of the scent. She had never seen such an odd creature before, but it was seemingly wounded considering the blood escaping its gill slits, and her instincts told her that therefore it was vulnerable.

With a flick of her tail, the Bull Shark sent herself upwards through the water, locked onto her newfound target.
Spoiler:
Bowser was most assuredly displeased.

Lately, the Koopa King had been receiving a sudden influx of reports from his troops about a frustrating string of setbacks. Apparently, some big monster was going around attacking whole squadrons of his army, destroying just about everything in its path and leaving nothing but smoldering remains in its wake. Every time this happened, whatever sort of plans Bowser had in store had to be called off as he and his minions had to repair the damage and assess the situation. It seemed that even the likes of Chain Chomps and Magikoopas were getting decimated by this strange new threat, to the point his minions were now becoming afraid to be deployed out in the various worlds.

He would not stand for this. Bowser already had enough trouble with the Mario Brothers. He was not about to let this newfound trouble stop him from achieving his goals. Seated upon his throne, Bowser’s claws tapped away at his armchair with great irritation as he silently seethed in his anger. The Koopa had already decided that sitting around and doing nothing but cleaning up after his new enemy’s destruction was no longer going to be the plan. Now, he was ready to take care of this problem himself.

And it would seem that fate would allow this to happen, for Kamek came bursting into the room via the great doors, the Magikoopa flying in on his magic broom. “Your majesty!” Kamek cried as he approached Bowser, the draconic turtle rousing to attention as he looked down upon his adviser. “That monster’s gone and attacked one of our troops in Grass Land!”

His eyes narrowed, Bowser arose from his throne at Kamek’s words, stepping down as he was eager to enact some payback. “Hmph, I had a feeling this would happen again. Kamek, I’m going after this thing myself. You’d better come along, I have a feeling I’ll be needing your magic for this one.”

“Yes, my lord!” Kamek loyally responded, joining Bowser in his newfound trip to get rid of the annoying problem at hand.

MV Godzilla vs Anime Mechagodzilla is on the back burner for a few reasons, one of which being a different Godzilla anime catching my attention… ;)

I have no clue if this is going to end up being a KWCE, but currently this is the best place to post this trailer, soooo… (spoilers for Singular Point if that wasn’t obvious)
Spoiler:
There was no greater illusion in life than order.

Existence was chaos. A cluster of elements smaller than an atom shifted and contorted strangely at one point in time before time existed, intiating an burst of impossibly hot matter spraying in every direction, cooling down and clumping together in shapes that would eventually become stars and planets. The universe was not formed by a careful craftsman’s hands, but by an explosion. Slurries of chemicals formed on some of these planets, from which life eventually formed after millions of years, single-celled entities that struggled against one another and mashed into one another to form multi-cellular life.

The grand charade of continuity emerged over the Earth as those entities eventually came onto land, taking on numerous shapes and eventually becoming what would be known as the dinosaurs. For hundreds of millions of years, the beasts reigned over the planet, spread from corner to corner. A kingdom that could never fall, at least so it seemed.

Only for the void to hurl down a bomb in the form of a rock several kilometers across, scarring the planet and shrouding it in darkness. In a day, the world was irreversibly changed for eons to come, the kingdom of the great reptiles ending in a firestorm and the ash that followed.

No higher power had protected them nor destroyed them. Random chance killed them just as random chance has given birth to them. This same chaos let the mammals who could dig underground emerge one day to a new world and begin to grow and change as the dinosaurs had to cover the landscape, until a group of primates got up on two legs, started to shed their fur, and used tools and the power of fire to dominate all they surveyed.

Two-hundred thousand years ago, humanity was born. They deluded themselves into thinking order was true and right, fearing that which was the actual foundation of existence. The intelligent apes proclaimed that their kingdom would last forever, that the Earth was their’s for the rest of time.

Mark Russell muttered “bullshit” under his breath as he pondered all this, looking at a global map which painted a bleak picture.

The coastlines of most continents were coated in red, an apt color to represent the anomalies on a screen, given how that was quite literally what was happening. Red dust and red waters marked the presence of the invaders, for the entities literally released it from their bodies.

Countless creatures like pteranodons flew through the air on leathery wings, spreading the essence of another world. Sea serpents moved through the waves, destroying boats en masse as they turned blue into crimson. This was the bulk of the strange creatures, though sightings of other beings with the same properties were cropping up all over the world. Spider-like fiends, monsters that resembled ankylosaurs bulldozing through everything in sight, and reports in India spoke of a green beast that moved on four legs and resembled an ogre as it crushed all opposition.

But these things did not concern him nearly as much as the worst of the otherworldly entities.

Mark sighed, feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders as Monarch placed its trust on him. He wanted out of this, to just be with his daughter and wait for others to resolve this, but he had a responsibility to be here. He knew Madison was safe, and the organization trusted him to keep it organized in this time of crisis after how well he predicted the behavior of Godzilla in the past.

Speaking of the Alpha Titan…

“Where the big guy heading?” He asked a radar technician, who barely even needed to look at the screen before replying.

“Exactly where you’d think he’d be.”

All eyes in the frantic headquarters room went to the main screen, which put up a moving icon of bright blue, heading on a path directly towards Tokyo. Where as most of the world’s coasts were a light shade of red, the capital of the Land of the Rising Sun was a deep, dark shade, like someone had splashed blood onto the display. It where this had all started, where the first of the strange beasts emerged after humanity found something it should have never tampered with.

Now, what had once been the most populated city on the planet was like a portal to another world, one which had no place for humans. And, if the one-hundred thousand tons currently blazing towards that location was any indication, Titans were not going to be welcome either.

“Mister Russel, what are we gonna do about this? Godzilla and… that thing are going to fight!”

Mark sighed once more. “We have to sit back and watch I guess. Godzilla’s our planet’s white-blood cells, and no amount of medicine is fixing this shit.” He turned around, raising his voice. “Someone try and get me eyes on Tokyo, and keep eyes on the rest of the Titans as well, I have a feeling a global war between monsters is about to start.”

“It’s already started, sir.”

It was days like this that Mark missed Serizawa. The man always knew exactly what to say, what to do. “Am I doing the right thing, Ichiro?” He said under his breath. “I’m doing what you would have wanted, to let nature handle itself.”

He remembered the last images out of the Tokyo before it went dark. Of a city burning, a colossus bellowing to black and red heavens. Attempts to enter since then had been interrupted by hordes of the Radons and Kumongas, but soldiers reported rumblings of constant earthquakes and distant roars that sent chills down their spines.

“Good luck, Godzilla. You’re gonna need it.” He said it quietly, but part of him felt like it had still been heard by others in the room. They didn’t seem to react, because if they did hear him, they would have agreed fully.

***

Scarlet waves surged into the bay of Tokyo, devastating an already ruined wasteland. Gigantic, brown spines with three prongs atop them arose from the water, followed by a reptilian head. Yellow eyes that had seen a million battles surveyed the desolate landscape as a grey-scaled body of immense muscle ascended from the churning depths. Sharp claws flexed as elephantine feet trampled onto the red-coated sand, pulling forth an immense body and a segmented, lengthy tail.

Godzilla growled, in equal parts rage and confusion. This place was wrong, fundamentally so. It was not disgusting and cruel like the golden demon, or hollow and hateful like the steel mimic. It was alien, like what lay before him was not even part of the world he had guarded for aeons. Depraved and baffling life crawled across all it, spiders of green and yellow who’s veins coursed with an azure slime that carried the broken like puppets, pteranodon-like creatures that sang insane choruses, and who knew what else?

But… there was something here which stood above them all. He felt it down to his bones, an abomination not against just nature, but against reality itself. Whatever it was, he reviled it like he had nothing else. His head hurt just trying to understand what it was, that warped the space of its surroundings. To his sixth sense, which alerted him to threats to himself and nature, it was like looking into a shifting fractal of numerous changing colors.

It needed to die, for the sake of all life. He knew this clearly.

***

Deep within the city, a nightmare made flesh moved through ruined streets. Immense legs supported a black reptilian, resembling a dinosaur in silhouette. White spines like maple leaves jut out from its back, their bases interwoven with veins. A tail of almost insane length dragged on the ground behind it, swinging into a building and reducing it to dust. Crocodilian jaws opened to an unnatural width, baring hellacious teeth.

Small eyes that looked psychopathic gazed upon the writhing body of a serpent before him. Manda reared up once more, trying to rise and fight him. Godzilla Ultima simply raised a foot, and stomped it on the sea snake’s skull, ending its life in a splatter across the streets.

He sensed a new being enter his domain, a colossus like himself. Did it seek to face him and oppose his rule? Most likely, why else would anything enter his kingdom? It mattered little.

Soon, all would collapse in on itself in glorious chaos. What did one more fool reduced to a corpse before then matter?
