Gigarma felt the toxic blood seeping into his stone body. It burner like nothing he had felt before, even the hottest flames didn’t feel like this. If he were organic he’d be feeling much worse. Hopefully even if it damaged his body, his fiery blood might burn away the toxin. But he no time to worry about that now.

Above the battling behemoths the sky became dark as storm clouds invaded in force. The winds became more violent and snow began to fall. The Lord of Storms command of this new sky was steadily growing.

His sword arm still strong, Gigarma readied for his next assault. He charged Jormungandr, but this time he swung his sword back and then in a reverse, downward arc at the earth. As the blade slashed through the ground upward, an explosion of dirt and broken trees erupted into the great serpent’s face. Not halting his charge, Gigarma rammed his shoulder into her body and knocked Jormungandr to the ground. He then attempted to impale the beast with his sword, but then his sword arm jerked as the poison seeped into one of the joints and his aim faltered. Instead of stabbing Jormungandr, the attack lightly cut her side.

Barely avoiding the sword, Jormungandr slithered back and prepared her next attack. With no real way to end the fight quickly, she just decided to go back on the offensive. Flames roared out of her mouth, but she didn't aim it at Gigarma. No, she aimed it around him instead. Moving in circles across him, she created a ring of fire that she was sure the stone monster could never escape from!

Still, she kept a close eye and wasn't willing to end the fight now. Just in case Gigarma pulled anything..

Vulfrad offers a bow in response to the creatures, but is initially unsure if he should follow. Could these creatures be trusted? What if they turned on him? What if they decided he was a threat and struck him down?

He dispelled the thoughts. Surviving alone out here would be difficult, if not impossible. It was better to try his luck with others than it would be to try to carve a path alone. Besides, if they proved untrustworthy, he could simply leave in the night...

"Fine," Vulfrad said, following behind the antlered giants. "Lead the way."

Standing in a see of flames. It was a situation Gigarma had found himself in many a time. If he could rest, he would absorb these flames along with the earth to speed the healing of his body. But this was not the time.

The Stone Giant’s left arm shot up in the direction of Jormungandr. Around her body wooden tendrils erupted from the ground and ensnared her body. They embraced and bit into her scales. Once he was satisfied that her movements were restricted, Gigarma once again sliced the ground with his sword. With this attack, part of Jormungandr‘s flaming ring was hurled back at her. Soon the area around her was ablaze, the flames engulfing the wood that held her.

Struggling to get out of the situation she had gotten herself into, Jormungandr felt the wood ensare her even tigher. Using her fire breath would just make things worse, so brute strength was the key here. Wiggling around, she simultaneously bit onto the wood, shaking like a rabid dog. Until finally, she had managed to free herself and lept out of the flames.

However, it became clear to her that she was simply too exhausted to continue this fight for the time being, and continuing it would most likely lead to her death. It was best to retreat for now. With that thought, she slithered back into the forest.

It wasn't all bad. Sooner or later the toxic blood will effect Gigarma completely. And when the rematch eventually came, she already had victory in the bag..

"What are you?" Ragnhild added. Like Ramia, she kept her weapon raised, but one with experienced eyes might see that she did not have it trained directly on any of the cervid hulks. Instead, her bow was aimed for a glancing blow; in other words, a nonlethal blow.

The beast-woman's bewilderment was deep. There were no creatures on Noraage like those before her. Her homeland had menn like her newfound companions, huge and wolf-like creatures similar to those that had tormented them in both vargar and garmar, even peerless titans that shook the very earth, ancient gods and enigmatic monsters from before time, but nothing like the newcomers.

What were they? Some breed of giant? Half-giants? Were they hybrids like herself or did they naturally mix features of men and beasts?

Grumbling, the massive serpent took her refuge underground. Far as she was concerned no other beast lived here, so this would be her resting place for the time being.

For some reason, she couldn't shake the feeling that maybe other monsters lived here along with that stone being. She could sense at least one, maybe another. Again, this place had such an odd sense of power she could never really tell what was what.

Feeling the burning sensation from the flames, she smushed herself against the cold rocks, somewhat healing herself. Finding out what else was out here would have to wait for the time being.

Gigarma watched Jormungandr leave. In his youth he would have hunted down the monster without a thought, but experience tempered his actions. The creature had yielded and who crawl to some dark place to lick it's wounds. It was no threat at the moment. Also the deity questioned himself if such deeds in his past had been a mistake. By eliminating all the monsters of the land, had he left his people unchecked? Without such beasts to remind the people of suffering and hardship, had they had grown cruel and greedy? Also he had begun to wonder if death to evil was always the answer? For creatures who are dead can never learn, if they could learn at all? Life seemed far less then it had been in the when he was young.

The pain in his arm brought him back to the physical world. The serpents blood was potent, Gigarma could not think of a poison that had ever effected his stone body so quickly befor. Most he never even noticed. He needed to heal.

The Stone Giant first cleaned his blade of the toxic blood by dropping to his left knew and wiping it on a clump of burnt trees. Once he was satisfied, Gigarma sheathed his sword. After this he stood up and made his way over to where the fires still raged at their strongest. He didn't stop when he reached the flames, but continued until he was right at the heart of the inferno. When he arrived Gigarma became stock still. A statue in every way apart from his glowing eyes. He released sky from his power, allowing nature to return to her normal flow. He then opened his mouth and inhaled. Without breeze or bidding the flames that raged around his stone form took to the air and flew into his maw. While this happened, the earth below his feet shifted and moved slightly as his carved stone joined and absorbed it.

With the elements of earth and fire, Gigamra began to heal himself.

Pleased with the man's response, the burly being smirked and nodded, turning around as his followers shifted their positions to let him pass so that he may lead the group.

"Our home is on an island a few ways away from here. The giants are forbidden from going there," the Olgfolk explained.

Thanks to their impressive size, it was no problem for the moose men to trudge through the deep snow. Their steps dug trenches Vulfrad could himself walk in, allowing him to save a bit of his energy as he strode with the Hirstaang herd.

---

"Very well," the Olgfolk grunted. "We are the Hirstaang tribe. You are not the first to be brought here. Throughout the years, our tribe has seen many of you - the Lord of the Hunt's chosen. We can help you. We have always aided those selected for the Great Hunt."

The dark-furred moose smirked in amusement at the wolf lady's confusion.

"Olgfolk," the spotted one answered, equally entertained. "Children of the Great Moose, Olghjortur. He is the son of the very being who has summoned you here - Hraaldstag."

---

In the recent clearing-turned-battlefield Gigarma meditated in, a large, spotted brown Beast approached with a slow gait, lured in by the commotion. Green eyes scanned the dying fires, the healed tree and the warrior of stone himself. It seemed Tyberius had arrived just a few moments too late to witness the battle that had raged within this clearing.

He did not seem like a foe. The razor-backed Beast felt no malice coming from within his earthen body.

Tyberius chuffed, shifting her attention towards the other prints scattered about. Dipping her head lower to the snow-covered ground, her nose quickly went to work, sniffing leftover blood and scales to take in the scent of the mysterious creature...

Not too far away, the World Serpent sensed the new beast presence. She had laid low for about a good four hours now, and her burns had healed since, so she was ready for another fight. But she decided to wait until he had gotten further away from Gigarma. She was wise enough to know that she couldn't take on two.

Then another beast came in.

It wasn't like the other two. Although it did feel like a mammal like Tyberius, it was of a different type..she still couldn't tell exactly what it was. It had to be related to an animal she had never witnessed before.

She had enough of hiding like a cat stalking prey. It was time to show that she was the dominant force in this land!

Striding cautiously in the wake of the massive Olgsfolk, Vulfrad looked through his surroundings. He was sure to walk in the ruts made in the snow by the striding giants, but even still he was unsure. What did this frozen place have in store for him? What did these Olgsfolk wish to do once he arrived in his village? And, most importantly... WHY had he been summoned to this place?

Vulfrad hoped against hope he was receive these answers sooner rather than later. Perhaps these massive beasts knew something that he did not about his purpose here...

Bursting out of the ground, Jormungandr began to make way to the massive feline. Along the way she saw a couple other wolf creatures, but this time she just ignored them. They weren't even close to top priority anymore.

She hid in the trees, her blue skin camoflaguing into the surroundings. She heard the footsteps get closer..she was ready to bite when she was right next to it.

Gigarma didn't move at first. He was unshore if this new creature were friend of foe, for like the great serpent it's aura was impossible to read. However the risk that he may be attacked while healing was to great, so the Stone Giant began to awaken from healing rest.

Watching the great golem stir, Tyberius chuffed softly again, a blast of hot air and fog releasing from her nostrils with the snort-like sound. The razor-backed Beast was not his enemy. She would show him.

The stone guardian would have no need to rest to repair his rocky body.

Instead, the chinks and cracks in his armor began to mend themselves seemingly on their own, minerals melding together to renew the broken protection. Though confused at first and slightly alarmed at the feeling of an odd force pulling on his armor, the ancient warrior instantly knew this was the muscular mammal's doing. It must have been, because the moment she lowered her head and resumed investigating the tracks and blood and venom left, the foreign presence on his armor disappeared, like a weight lifted off.

That...stupid....feline!

It became obvious to the serpent that her plan to take Gigarma failed, no thanks to that creature. Her blood boiled as the horned beast continued to walk past her, getting her scent. A fight was inevitable between the two, that she was sure of.

And this time, she would not fail.

Just when Tyberius reached her, a burst of flame shot up from the trees, pushing her away and knocking her down. Just as she got a better sight of her surroundings, Jormungandr leaped out with her massive jaws, still full of toxic blood! She aimed all sights straight to her underbelly..

Tyberius turned just in time to witness the great serpent lunge at her from the trees. Acting fast, the razor-backed bear swung out with a burly arm, spinning a half-turn as she whirled a massive clawed paw in an arc set for her leaping foe.

A tremendous boom shook the landscape in a powerful blast of pure force when the heavy paw connected with its target, making the trees shudder as if in fear before such a mighty blow. The snow that had freshly fallen from the blizzard shed off the pines with a faint crystalline sound and a muffled thud when it reached the snow already on the ground.

The swiping paw sent Jormungandr flying off to the side, crashing among trees that toppled on top of her as she bounced off the snow for a few hundred meters before finally skidding to a stop. Whatever snowfall that had not yet fallen off the neighbouring trees now did so as they trembled again under the numerous impacts of serpent against snow. A long trail of her toxic blood drew a path in the trenches her tumbling body had carved in the frozen landscape. More of her blood could be found on Tyberius' claws themselves, which, to the horned bear's unpleasant surprise, were sizzling, their curved shape warped and drilled into by the potent acid.

Though dazed and in pain from the left side of her face nearly being caved in from the strength of the bear and sliced with four long slashes where the brown Beast's formidable claws had rendered flesh, the long-bodied giant quickly recovered.

Tyberius would make sure that would not be the case when she next struck.

Calling upon her earthbending powers, the razor-backed Beast collapsed a nearby cliffside, aiming to bury Jormungandr underneath untold tons of cold rock...

Seeing the massive cliff race down to her, Jormungandr called upon her massive fire breath once again, blowing up most of the rocks and turning them into tiny pebbles she barely even felt hit the skin. Looking back to her foe, she began to think of a strategy, trying to ignore the burning pain that her face had. Quickly going under the earth, her fire breath made the once hard rock soft, and the ground crumbled under the bears feet. But it wasn't the fall that the serpent wanted to harm her opponent.

With the dirt clouding her vision, Tyberius tried her best to find the massive snake, but was hit with tons of hit and run blows. First on her sides, then on her paws, all the while the blood seeped into her. Jormungandr didn't plan to kill her, but at least weaken her enough to make sure that this snake wasn't just a regular opponent.

Gigarma watched the battle, wondering if he should intervein. He had not idea what the right course of action was. The snake was his enemy but she was a stranger just as he was, while the great feline had used it's her powers to speed his recovery. For all he knew this fight was pointless. The Stone Giant decided that it was time to be a peace maker if possible. Instead of drawing his weapon as befor, this time Gigarma walked calmly towards the battling creatures, open handed.

As he got closer though he realised that he was going to have the great devil's own work completing it. He needed to stop them from fighting, but they could miss understand him, the snake especially.

"Olgfolk...." Ramia pondered. "A great hunt... So we are brought here to be someone's game, this Lord of the Hunt. And you wish to help us..."

Though she questioned a lot more of what was going on, at least there were answers for her. She let her lance dissolve into thin air.

"W-wait, you trust them?" The thin girl stammered with a bewildered look. "H-how do you-"

"Know they aren't lying? To be honest, I don't, but if what they say is true, then we don't have much of a choice." Ramia cut her off. "Whoever this Lord of the Hunt is, they had the power to bring us from different places all into one spot for his own amusement. The last thing we need is to make more enemies than needed."

The girl looked away, her face bright red and burning with barely veiled anger. "Fine.. and the name is Menai."

Ramia nodded. A strange name, but not the strangest thing she'd seen in her life. "And I am Ramia." She said, moreso to the moose people than to Menai.

"Hraaldstag," Ragnhild repeated, as if tasting the name. The image of the unearthly beast from her dreams flashed through her mind.

The beast-woman's bow fell. It seemed there would be no fight today.

"They must be a powerful magician. Are they also a god like Olghjortur? I wish to speak with them. I will not be used to entertain."
