Battleground: Sitka, Alaska.

Verdict: This is gonna be a rough bout on both fronts. For one, Kong's agility and intelligence are gonna serve him well, and he knows how to use that axe well. But just the same, Knifehead is both a seriously mean son of a bitch and a crafty fighter himself. If Kong doesn't avoid his attacks in time, he could easily get manhandled on the spot—or worse, impaled by the Breach Kaiju's bladed skull. Furthermore, one edge that Knifehead has against Kong is his durability, having withstood three plasma cannon shots from Gipsy Danger and survived to come back swinging.

Kong could dodge Knifies attacks more often than not and his strength alone should eventually overwhelm the breacher.

King Kong definitely can't overpower Knifehead in a straight fight, but his agility and the very fact that he has the axe is going to give him the win anyway. Pacific Rim kaiju are kinda allergic to slashing weapons.

Kong's strength is worthless against a PR Kaiju. They can take blunt trauma all day and have to be cut of blown apart to be killed. So if Kong tries to press a fist fight, Knifehead will eat him.

With the axe and his agility and intelligence, though, Kong has the overall edge. He can keep his distance and chip away Knifey's defenses with axe swings until he gets an opening to deliver a killing blow.

Didn't even read that Kong had the axe. That definitely secures him the win. It's both a slicing and bashing weapon. He leaves Knifehead a bashed bloody blue mess.

Kong could win this battle, if he plays his cards correctly which he probably would do, I do med knife hits is aggressive and fast and could do some damage to Kong but Kong is faster and can dodge easier.
As Spuro said The PR kaiju don’t do very well with sharp weapon.

Kong crushes Knife head with ease. Monsterverse beasts are just over all much stronger than PR ones.
