'Brush of the God' by Keizo Murase Kickstarter!

Post by phantomsdaydreams »

I'm certainly pledging! Not a whole lot to go off of, but after missing out on the original backer run for 'Howl from Beyond the Fog', I'm making sure to get in on the ground floor here. ^_^ Already ran a successful Japanese campaign, by the looks of it, so the likelihood of this coming to fruition is high. I love the design of the dragon, personally. Anyone else going to put up some for it?

I liked it. Practical effects, serious Ghidorah vibes.
I unapologetically, wholeheartedly, and without a doubt hate Godzilla vs Kong.

Looks like this is still happening - reached its filming goal on another site.

And there was a recent trailer released - doesn't show much but still gives a nice feel of the tone and gives a better look of the monster:

Honestly, I wanted to help fund it, but the fact that you only got a digest version of the film sucked the enthusiasm out of me. =/ At least with The Great Buddha Arrival, the new version they've been parading around is just a longer edit than what the "kickstarter" (don't remember the actual site now) backers got when it finally released. I'd still love to see the film though, and would gladly pay for the privelage.

Wait is this film still being produced? The kickstarter failed, but another crowdfunding method succeeded right? I'm really looking forward to his stuff, and I have H.F.B.F on order to come sometime over the summer. I like that he seems to be keeping the suitmation technology alive along with toku tv shows.

Yep, still being produced thanks to other crowdfunding source. I'm definitely looking forward to this, really think indie short films might give us some great new kaiju action.

I wish they kept his tentacles but it's still a really cool design regardless. Definitely an improvement over the ones we got in Yamato Takeru and Onmyoji 2.

The suit (or would this be considered a puppet?) looks really great! So glad they're still making this movie, going to be interesting to see how it turns out. I loved the last kaiju short film - I know this is a different project with some different people, but if it's the same sort of quality, and it looks like it will be, it'll be great.

Before I throw money at it or even start following it, is this going to be an ACTUAL movie or another puppet show like Howl?

Quote of the Year:
plasmabeam wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 3:03 am Hear me out on this. What if Godzilla is actually Suko’s father? In GvK when Godzilla defeated Kong and they were roaring at each other, what if Godzilla inseminated Kong at that moment and that’s why they were screaming?

Yes, it's intended to be a feature-length film with a Japanese theatrical release.

I'll probably back it once I get some cash in. Wish I didn't miss out on that Nebula figure from the last time around.

The multiheaded dragon looks good.
I've got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.

Then expect something that's fiercer, more cruel, and deadly than anything that's walked the Earth.
