Do we know the name of the author, or where it will be published?

Still trying to find that out, but it's probably Shogakukan again as publisher. They've been the publisher of previous Godzilla mangas before. So it shouldn't be surprising if its them again.borodan wrote:Do we know the name of the author, or where it will be published?

I can not tell if the artist has ever Assistant, publisher of manga, or probably just an artist with talent.

No its done by the artist of the Shogakukan Godzilla manga, seems that's behind the scenes of the Shogakukan Godzilla manga with displays of the upcoming manga.Ryu wrote:Sorry guys, but it's a fan-manga.

True, he also worked on the Rebirth of Mothra mangas well, almost managed to pitch a Godzilla vs. Mothra Leo Manga, which involved Yuki and Belvera (or however you spell her name). But Toho rejected it, something about wanting King Ghidorah to remain as the final monster to re-establish the character's status. Or something like that. Guess they didn't want Godzilla to overshadow Grand King Ghidorah and its involvement within the Rebirth of Mothra series.

So this is not an official thing? Some pretty impressive art.

Re: New Godzilla Manga In Works (Continues From Showa Era)
its official we just have to find more news about it, which is still rather difficult. What I pulled up was the artist showing his work and history with the Godzilla Heisei Manga, and letting folks get a small sneak peek of the upcoming G manga. Which has pretty much hit the net in small doses (the news of the manga), but without anymore to lead us on, then we're at a temporary stop for now. I must admit that I do appreciate the artist giving us a sneak peek though. Still trying to find out the manga magazine that this puppy is going to be involved with. Perhaps an official press release will hit soon later on this month. Just gotta be patient for the time being.Destroyer wrote:So this is not an official thing? Some pretty impressive art.

I'm not getting excited about this until an official, verified source is given.

Well Blackout pretty much pulled up a source with the link in his post.Showa Gyaos wrote:I'm not getting excited about this until an official, verified source is given.
Or you could personally head hunt within the 2ch forums yourself if you want. Got it from here, can't find it all that much since they are constantly updating with different posts, threads, and news updates. But give it a shot, you might find it. (Still looking for the skreeonking article that had it)

Buut like you, until there's a official press release or press article from a more, english base site, I'd advise that its best to not get completely excited. The Ultraman Manga and the Rebirth of Mothra mangas were equally as lost as this Godzilla manga's news and awareness. And still didn't make it over to English internet shores until a few months, and apparently today for the Tohokingdom fandom given that Gojira knows someone who has access to them.
If we hear nothing coming over to our internet shores, then its another manga that we've lost unless someone keeps close tabs on it. Heeey......Gojira buddy....You got some pull right Think you can help us out?

I don't care if it's fan made, I just want an English version. This looks pretty boss, although I wish the Godzilla looked more like one of the Showa Godzillas. Hope we see some familiar faces.

If it were a Showa design we wouldn't get too dynamic a look now wouldn't we?
This seems odd considering everything Toho's tried to do away with the Showa timeline all these years

What do you mean by "dynamic?" The Showa designs were constantly changing to fit their respective films. Showa Godzilla was certainly a dynamic character but in the context of appearances I'm not quite sure what you're trying to get across.gojira012 wrote:If it were a Showa design we wouldn't get too dynamic a look now wouldn't we?

Pretty sure that's not what dynamic means. I think you mean what so many on the internet do. You want it to be "dark n gritty." Also, you ARE aware that films like Gojira and Mothra vs Godzilla feature incarnations of Godzilla that are "cool" and don't dance, right? And you know those are Showa films featuring Showa Godzillas?

This is cool and all...but why does the Godzilla (whether it's Showa Godzilla #2, or Minya grown up) seen in the preview pics look like a Heisei Godzilla?

Thought the same thing, guess its just the art direction that the artist went with. Not completely the Heisei Godzilla, but in terms of dorsal fins, seems similar to it.Goji wrote:This is cool and all...but why does the Godzilla (whether it's Showa Godzilla #2, or Minya grown up) seen in the preview pics look like a Heisei Godzilla?

So if this is Minya grown up, what happened to the original Showa Godzilla? Did he die or is he on Monster Island still?
