I hope that Kentaro Miura's untimely death serves as a wakeup call to mangaka everywhere to not drag on to long with whatever story they create. Eichiro Oda of One Piece fame is really pushing it now that his creation is nearly 25 years old and Guyver author Yoshiki Takaya needs someone to pressure him to end his own manga sooner than he may've intended. 5-10 years is a perfect run for any manga if you ask me.

Holy mackerel! GKIDS has licensed Future Boy Conan, the only anime series Hayao Miyazaki directed in entirety before he graduated to features. It's a legendary show, and rumor has always been rights issues would prevent a US release.

In order to truly appreciate the character (as well as the show itself) you need to concentrate all your energy into relating to someone like him, as well as a higher intellect.
Why would I need to relate to some one like him when I'm exactly like him myself?

Have you ever endured depression yourself? I have from time to time.
Oh yes unfortunately although its comforting to see others struggle with it as well.

Do I understand correctly that Orange was released in the US on Blu-ray, but the anime movie (and I guess the live-action one) were not?

I enjoy watching multiple anime at once, for different purposes (example: Not watching Sarazanmai on the bus, while Futari wa Precure: Max Heart is great while waiting for bus after work)
Ongoing:
1-Sarazanmai
2-Carole & Tuesday
3-OPM S2
4-Isekai Quartet
5-Senko-san
6-Hitori Bocchi
7-Dragon ball filler list.
8-Yuu Yuu Hakusho
9-The Rose of Versailles
10-Heidi: Girl of the Alps
11-My hero academia filler list.
**Favorites / Least Favorites:**
Sarazanmai and Yuu Yuu Hakusho is my favorite of the ongoing shows on animefillerlist, while The Rose of Versailles is probably my favorite of the non-ongoing shows.Dororo is probably my least favorite of the ongoing right now, varying in quality between the episodes. Tweeny Witches is my least favorite of the non-ongoing shows.

Maaaaaaan fuck the new DB Super manga chapter.

Seriously it's the same thing over and over. Yes it's Dragon ball and that's their formula but damn man.
Spoiler:
Vegeta loosing again, just give him a damn W. God of destruction Vegeta loosing to just some random guy Granola it's just infuriating, why keep giving Vegeta power ups if he's just gonna loose everytime.... to just be a step behind Goku? I know Toriyama hated Vegeta but damn man......lol. rant over.

Aight guys, I need help - about to start my third anime, Cowboy Bebop, but I've heard that the dub is just as good as the Japanese track. Is this true? Normally I'm a sub purist, but it would be nice to not have to read for once.

I was recommended the dub when I first dabbled into anime. It's very good. No disrespect to the Japanese VA's, but the dub was far more enjoyable imo.

So I definitely recommend the dub.

The Bebop dub is one of the best... maybe the best?

Just Curious, is anyone interested in getting Robotech on Blu Ray now that Harmony Gold is releasing it? I know they have released Robotech an untold number of times on DVD. I still have the original individual DVD releases from back in 2001  . I really saw no reason to upgrade because none of the other DVD releases really offered anything more or different, just more compact, and they changed the opening sequence from the original TV broadcast one, which I wasn't happy about.

Since HG is now finally (supposedly) going to allow original Macross content (and it's sequels/spinoffs etc...) to be released I am excited for this. Still, I recall way back when, HG did an experiment, where they were releasing on VHS individual volumes that had 2 episodes of Robotech, paired up with the corresponding 2 episodes of the original Japanese Anime (Macross, Southern Cross, Mospeada etc...) Unfortunately it didn't get very far and was incomplete.

I would have kind of liked if they did the same thing with the Blu rays, just release all of Macross on one Blu ray set (Both the original, and the edited "Robotech" version). But so far it is just Robotech.

I've tried to look for details on Amazon, but I guess I'll wait until it actually comes out and read some reviews before I decide I want it. Basically all I'd want from the first set is the original 36 episodes, with original opening/closing credits, and the Robotech II Sentinels film.

I made it through about half of Demon Slayer before Zenitsu completely torpedoed my interest. He is possibly the single most insufferable anime character I've come across yet, and ruins the show. I'll finish it eventually because my brother and sister want me to, but it might take some effort.

My interest in anime dipped for a little bit there, too, so I held off on the last two episodes of Haruhi until today. Just got done with them, and the simple, laid-back rainy day episode was a great way to send the show out. I'll be moving on to The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya soon, and am very much looking forward to it.

Also on the 'watch soon' list are Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop and.... *drumroll*.... Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Just got the Future Robot Daltanious SD/BD from Discotek. Frankly, I love that with all their variety, they keep pumping out classic Super Robot series from the 70's and 80's almost every month. Now I at least get to see one of the possible shows that could have been "Voltron II"

So I'm up to episode eight (I think; the one with the naval battle) of NGE. I was a little uncertain at first, but no, this show is legitimately cool. The art is gorgeous, the action is intense, the Angels have some really unique and wildly varied designs, the characters are likeable*, smart writing, good music, funny humor, etc, etc, etc. I can see why it became such a phenomenon.

* Yes, even Shinji. Did people just want him to be another standard gung-ho shonen protagonist?

Also, it's funny; I praised Godzilla vs. Kong's ocean battle for being unique, but it, ah... might've taken just a smidge of inspiration from this show.

It is actually a pretty cool idea, especially for series where no HD elements exist. It keeps cost down, and the video/audio quality is not sacrificed. I wish more companies had used it. Imagine if Mill Creek did this? They could have offered Ultraman 80, The Ultraman, Tiga etc... as SD on BRD. The whole series could fit on one or two discs, they could have charged the same retail price, and it would look more aesthetically pleasing in most people's collections. The Video and Audio would suffer no loss, but perhaps even look better.

The great thing about standard def Blu-ray is that you can put shows that have hundreds of episodes on just a few discs.

Yes. I'm not sure what the limit is. I've gotten a couple series that are around 50 episodes on a single disc. But one that was 64 episodes they put on 2 discs, which I am fine with. Discotek has been releasing many classic Super Robot series from the 70's and 80's in this fashion. Of course, if there are HD sources available, they will release an actual HD Blu Ray (as in the case of Dancouga and Baldios) .

I am hoping some company picks up the rights to Space Runaway Ideon andf re releases it on Blu Ray. I had the Blu Ray set (purchased at normal retail price), from Section 23 but it is going for crazy amounts on the secondary market, evidently because it was very limited in production. I sold mine for $350.00 on eBay. I can still watch the series online, but I'd like to get it back in some physical form if possible.

I'm nine episodes into Komi Can't Communicate, which is wonderful. The side characters are a little bit of a mixed bag, but Komi herself carries the show no problem, and Tadano is also very likable. They handle Komi's social anxiety well; it's mostly played for laughs or cuteness, as befits a cartoon, but they don't let the audience forget that it's still a legitimate burden for her to bear. She's very relatable. I'm not quite as crippled as she is, but I don't socialize well at all IRL, I'm definitely the silent, awkward weirdo at work, and the show portrays that kind of experience pretty effectively without getting depressing about it. Art and animation look nice, and I love all the little pop-up captions that narrate what the awkward characters are thinking. The music is also great.
