HBO Max has given me access to a.. shockingly low library of Cartoon Network shows. (seriously, 97% of the 2000's era is completely missing) but with those small amount of shows, i got a fistful of 90's era stuff!

I watched the original PowerPuff Girls which played a huge part of my childhood. Still love it, characters are great, action scene are great, still super funny and fast paced. Easy to see why it's still fondly remembered!

Next up was Ed, Edd n Eddy, which for some reason i completely ignored as a kid. I think this one's pretty good, but in it's own, more wacky way. The Ed's themselves are great, most of the side-characters are nice.. but i don't like Jimmy. I think he's supposed to be endearing but i think he's just plain annoying.

I’ll eventually get back into Japanese films, just been busy lately. Interested about Kill!

Also, recently I watched SEASON 1 of Lodge 49. A really underrated amazing dark comedy with a really chill vibe.

I also watched Psycho Goreman. I think a lot of people on here will really like that!

The Masque of The Red Death. This is a great movie, got the new blu-ray from Studiocanal. It looks completely amazing with the new 4K restoration. Kinda weird watching this right now, giving the current pandemic.

I watched The Curse of the Demon (the American version of The Night of the Demon). Fantastic movie, very creepy.
Also, I finally watched the original Nosferatu, another classic.

Eagerly awaiting Psycho Goreman. Especially with the voice cameo by Hollywood Celebrity

I recently dug up my Captain America: the Winter Soldier Blu-Ray, this one has some of the best action and story beats of all the MCU films. The end with Bucky was really touching stuff, and his fights with Cap were great. Also really felt for Nick Fury towards the middle of the film. And yeah, I know, the whole "dumbed-down CGI porn, bruh", but the effects during the Helicarrier attack were pure eye candy, especially on my OLED, and I don't even own it in 4K!

This is easily in the upper echelon of the MCU.

I agree 100%. The movie is very much a pure espionage thriller, when you think about it, and it really works for the story. It is definitely one of the best entries in the MCU.

Yeah, Winter Soldier is easily top-tier Marvel. Extremely compelling story and characters, and an effective, impactful style.

The action sequences do drag on a little too long for my tastes, particularly the big freeway fight. But that's a fairly minor quibble.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Meant to type this earlier but eh.

I watched the new Tom and Jerry movie last night. And overall.. could've been better. But could've been worse.

I gotta say, the parts with Tom and Jerry themselves are great! Both of them look fantastic and all the antics they get into are actually really funny. Heck most of the original cast are pretty good in their roles. Spike, Butch, the rest of the alley cats (although Nickey Jam was a really weird acting choice). It's just the plot around them that feels stiff. Kayla (the main human girl) is clearly suppose to come off as quirky and likeable, but Chloe Mortez's portayl of her just feels so forced. Most of the time it feels like she wasn't even remotely trying. Michael Pena is.. slightly better but not by much. (what happens to him at the end may be the most out of nowhere, completely nonsensical thing ever, and not in a good way)

The plot revolves around Michael Pena's character's daughter getting married to some dork named Ben, who also has an actor forcing his lines. Both of them are pretty boring and i didn't really care all that much when the wedding got thrashed and
Spoiler:
they broke off the engagement.
the entire movie takes place in a hotel, which has some nice imagery in all honestly. I'm not sure if it was an actual hotel they used or a place on the Warner Bros. set, but it's actually really good looking!

Some of the jokes are a bit hit or miss. Some of them reek of trying to hard (those elephants using "FYI" and "OMG" for instance) but when it goes back to the classic slapstick, again, it's actually really nice! Although i should say when it tries to tug at the heartstrings, it also doesn't do it very well. Again, stiff perfomances. Not to mention some really out of place sounding music to go along with it.

All in all, it's a movie i enjoyed watching, but next time i do, it's only gonna be for the titular duo, and really nothing else. If this is hinting at what Space Jam 2 and Coyote vs. Acme is gonna be though.. well, hopefully they fix up some of this films flaws. If i had to rank it, i'd give it a 7/10.

I just watched the Snyder Cut... holy cow. I'm here to tell you, this movie was worth all the hype and WB bending over backwards to let Snyder show HIS vision, it was fucking amazing. The reshot scenes from Josstice League (meaning Snyder's original footage) have much more context and meaning, Stepphenwolf actually comes across as a menacing villain to give a shit about with motivations that are actually developed this time around, the JL members come together much better and are much more fleshed-out and even the leftover action scenes are better in this like the hostage scene with WW (it's almost like reshooting and adding/cutting content matters). The added bits with Darkseid (a live-action iteration of him was long overdue) were a nice bonus as well, it's too bad we'll probably never get to see a sequel.

Oh and the cherry on top: they fixed Henry Cavill's horrendous mug.

House (1977). I... was not prepared. I skimmed a little bit of the Wikipedia article before watching, and apparently Toho's original request was for this to be a movie like Jaws. This did not end up as a movie like Jaws. Wow. That was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had.

Watching Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Thought it’d be good fun you know? I think it’s very good so far, deep into season 2.

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)

I watched it two days ago but overall although I had plenty of problems with the film, what makes up for all of it is the fun giant monster action. Another film like King of the Monsters I'd really only recommend for the hardcore kaiju fans, general audience otherwise, this is one of those films that's a timewaster at best, just shut off your brain if you're just in for the fun giant monster action since you won't get much out from the characters or story.
Spoiler:
My nitpicks were.

-I enjoy fast-paced films, but it honestly felt too fast. This should have been at least as long as King of the Monsters to allow some character development especially regarding Ren and know what's going on.
-Ren just being there, we know nothing about him, never knowing what his relationship he had with his father which should have been explored.
-As with King of the Monsters, you're not going to get much out of the characters (Aside from Serizawa who is dead now) nor the story for that matter.
-In all honestly, the whole Godzilla going "rogue" and Kong's journey to the hollow earth felt like they could have been two separate films, it's as if they put two plots into one.
-Movie actually felt it centered more around Kong, and Godzilla at times just felt "there".
-That we didn't get to see any of the titans especially ones not shown in King of the Monsters. I know Dominion is gonna explain this but still felt disappointed.

One thing I'll give it is the execution Godzilla and Kong teams up, thankfully nothing like Batman and Superman, and Godzilla's reason going "rogue" definitely helped Mechagodzilla fit into the plot really well and reason for being involved.

It's no Kong: Skull Island but overall in spite of all these problems I had, I still had lots of fun with the monster scenes and fights which were the highlights of this movie and what kaiju fans came in wanting.

With that all said, given the way it ended with no indication or hints to a sequel, I'll be fine if this is where the MonsterVerse ends. I'm just grateful such a cinematic universe existed and gotten as many movies as it did. Could this movie have been better yes absolutely but overall I still enjoyed it being the hardcore kaiju fanboy I am as with plenty of others.
Overall a 7.5 out of 10.
