Pinky and the Brain: Cerebral Thonkening (2022) was created in the aftermath of the wildly successful Animaniacs cartoon, and directed toward an adult audience on Adult Swim. Thanks to this detatchment from being a children's cartoon, the show was allowed to be as bitingly satirical as possible, prodding and exposing the inner machinations of the entertainment industry, including abusive CEO's who are overpaid, crunch time on staff members and sexual harassment. The show was also infamous for mocking the policies of Kids WB, especially in regards to executive meddling and inserting of characters that were not necessary or wanted. While massively popular with fans, pressure from outside forces and unhappy companies taking offense forced the show to be cancelled after two seasons. It came back a few years later, but with the biting hand humor replaced with what many fans consider to be dialed down gross out humor and vulgarity, leading to season 3 being cut short.SoggyNoodles2016 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 11:41 am
"a classic cartoon from the 90s gets a adult swim TV-MA reboot. It's....actually really works and is kind of poignant?"
"An anime-fied approach to the tried and true Kaiju genre, but aimed at weebs and lonely neckbeards alike."
