Cortex, a 2014 sci-fi comedy starring Bryan Cranston and Zendaya. It tells the story of an organisation called Up-Cover, which fights against evil aliens who use amnesia-inducing attacks to take over planets, and follows both rookie Claire Harlowe and senior Ben Larome as they fight against them.

The Scale

Fred is a conspiracy theorist that believes most anything, and has no trust in the government. After some online stories, he thinks Gentex Lab, a government funded lab, is up to something. The guy sneaks in one night, and finds a biology lab full of reptiles. He grabs some chemical for evidence, but while leaving accidentally gets it on him. The next day, he finds he has enhanced physical powers, can climb walls, and has regenerative powers. The excited Fred dons a suit and becomes The Scale.

Fred, believing the government plans to make reptile powered soldiers, takes action against the lab. In doing so, a disgruntled employee, Levenson, enlist his help in stealing a top secret formula. He helps Levenson, and Levenson gets the formula. Meanwhile, Fred tries to stop planes from spreading "poison" contrails and other acts to protect the public. Fred is surprised to find the public sees him a menace rather than a hero, and begins to see that many of the things he believes are untrue. The heaviest blow comes when he learns the reptile research is for medical purposes.

Meanwhile, Levenson doses himself with the formula, and he gains the ability to control energy. Fred quickly realizes Levenson must be stopped before he sells the formula to the highest bidder and stop the energy controlling villain.

Hunted, a 2017 horror/drama short film that has Mariana, a US army soldier, trapped in an incredibly hostile jungle trying to survive as she deals with paranoia of being watched. Eventually, this leads to the climax, Mariana facing and falling to her pursuer....a Predator, thus revealing the film as a tie in to the lore and early marketing for The Predator. The short was incredibly beloved for it's great writing and legitimate creep factor, epsecially when the tie-in film was released the following year and squandered the potential in many's eyes.

Revival Meeting

During the end of days, those with the mark of the beast become flesh eating killers. Those without fight for their lives while trying save the zombies' souls and do what good they can. One man decides to open up a tent revival for the zombies, but others fear that a mass of zombies in one place is too dangerous. An army of zombies show up, and it seems to go well, until the zombies get hungry. The zombies overwhelm the sanctuary of the unmarked, and they must flee to a rumored promise land that is said to be free of zombies.

This horror comedy starred Bill Pullman and Aubrey Plaza, with Plaza's role being called a delightful performance.

An Ancient Secret, an animated film out of France. The film lampoons the pseodoscientific and downright racist idea that ancient civilisations needed contact worth advanced aliens to build their musty impressive monuments due to how "primitive" they were. The short has the aliens, for all their technological advancement, fail at very simple things that humans succeed at, like using ramps to transport large blocks (or a spaceship in this case).

The Hand of Ganar

Antiquities professor, Carl Hiller, is asked to look at a museum's most recent find. Hiller examines the intricately carved hand, and finds it doesn't come from the Mongolia, where it was found, but from India. He thinks it may be part of a legendary statue. The Ganar as it's called was almost stolen by Genghis Kahn, but the Kahn was only able to take the hand. According to legend, it brought suffering to his army, and it was abandoned in the middle of the desert.

The museum also suffers a series of inconvenient happenings. One evening, Hiller falls asleep while researching the Ganar, and has a vision. He sees a burned and dying world with the Ganar looming over it. The Ganar tells Hiller to return the hand by the next full moon, or the world will burn. Hiller isn't sure what to think about his vision, but then learns another employee who's handled the hand had the same vision. They take the hand and quickly fly to the other side of the world.

Their journey to find the Ganar and return the hand is hampered by terrain, dangerous weather, and a man named Poultis who wants to take and sell the hand. Despite all the said dangers, Hiller, his companion, and Poultis reach the valley where the Ganar lies. Locals that worship the Ganar prepare to kill the intruders, but Hiller and his companion escape. Poultis tries to steal the hand, but is crushed by the temple's stone doors. Hiller and his companion wonder what they'll do now since they are no doubt wanted by American authorities for taking the hand, and Hiller that he's always wondered about another Middle East legend. The two ride off into the sunset.

Warriors, a 2019 film where a group of modern mercenaries awaken in a distant future, discovering they have become the unwilling soldiers of a time traveling dictatorship, kidnapping great warriors and cryogenically freezing them for enlistment in future wars. Teaming up with a former Legionnare and Western sharpshooter, the mercenaries attempt to overthrow the dictator to free themselves and the people of the wastelands. A minor success that was soon boiled in controversy after the BBC sued it for the plot similarities to the Doctor Who story The War Games. Though it settled out of court, the end result was the film becoming a cult classic, similar to Colossal's problems with Godzilla.

"Claw and Fang" was an Asylum movie released in 2006, right alongside the sequel to Underworld. The movie stars a group of teenagers who go to a camp by a lakeside to enjoy the last days of summer. However, the lake is home to an amphibious fish man, who rises from the lake every night to attack and kill a person to feed on. During one such attack, the fish man chases the teenagers from the camp grounds into a neighboring property, where a retired game warden resides. The game warden at first accepts to help out the teenagers and kill the fish man, but when night approaches, the game warden transforms into a vicious werewolf who also hungers for human blood, and now the surviving teenagers must use their wits and intelligence to escape the two monsters and hope they kill each other before they all die. The movie was accused of not just being released to piggy back off of Underworld: Evolution's release, but also of being a ripoff of Jason vs Freddy, following many of the plot beats of that movie.

Treasure Hunters

Yareena, a powerful sorceress, rules West Kallis like a dictator. She controls her people with her powers and her invincible soldiers. Travis, a young man, has a curious mind and violates the law by inventing new things to help the ranch. When Travis offers shelter to an odd man, the odd man recruits Travis to join a group he's put together. He agrees to join when the invincible soldiers try to capture them.

Travis, along with James, Lisa, and Francis, are sent to find the four keys to restoring freedom and knowledge that will end Yareena's reign. Yareena's powers, monsters, and unusual characters get in their way, but they travel to the four corners of their world to find the keys. They expect weapons, but find that they are a bundle of books, an engine, a music recording, and an empty chest. Each hero becomes inspired by their item, and they realize the truth of their kingdom. Yareena has no magic, but uses technology to simulate her powers. She then forced her people to live as they did in the past in order to make them forget that they once lived in a technological world.

Armed with this knowledge, they return to the kingdom and rally other young men and women to take back the knowledge they once had. Yareena tries to squash the uprising, but when her invincible soldiers are revealed to be nothing but machines and can be defeated, the people turn against her as one. Yareena is dethroned, and locked in the empty chest. The odd man, Yareena's father, takes the chest and returns her to their own world.

Understandable why it was straight-to-video because it was gutter trash, and that stupid "twist" didn't help.

Life After Death(Row): Four whacky mass murdering psychos get an unexpected second chance after a visit from Father Aston Modius (a priest who might just be a devil-worshipper) which leads to them all clawing their way out of the grave! These four maniacs decide to team up and spread terror across the globe, starting in the small town of Pinewood- just in time for the Spring Fling dance!
When atheist librarian Beeker Lonsdale and Police Sargeant Saad Saleh (a man of Allah) both stumble upon the work of this kooky quartet, they have to put aside their differences and stop the maniacs and Father Modius from turning this sockhop... Into a chop-shop! (Featuring Nicolas Cage, because he's got bills to pay)

Wrong Team

This 2001 film by Michael Moore looks at how fan rivalries can escalate to absurd levels. He focuses on 6 fan-2 each for the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and the NY Giants- and their perceptions and attitudes towards those who support the "other team". We hear plenty of trash talk and opinions, while also seeing a Cowboy and Bills fan playing pranks on each other. Overall, Moore shows how crazy some people can get over sports.

Biter

Detective Lorm is called to a strange homicide where the victim's flesh appears to have been torn from the body. He thinks it might be a condition called flesh rot, but the doctor says the flesh was torn off, and there are unusual marks on the bones. Another murder occurs with the same MO, and Lorm recognizes two people he saw at the first death gawking at the scene with the other onlookers. Lorm finds out they're scientists, doctors Helis and Dobar, at a lab, and goes to question them. They give vague answers, and Lorm is certain they're hiding something. Meanwhile, Mr. Komat, head of the lab, berates his employees and tells them to find it before anyone else is found dead.

Lorm watches the two, and follows the pretty Dobar as she walks through the night. When a third body is reported, Lorm races to the scene, and finds Helis standing over the body. Helis will only say that he didn't do it, and refuses to answer all other questions. Helis is arrested on suspicion. Dobar goes to Lorm, but she is still vague with her answers as they suck up a meal together. Lorm continues to follow her. The next night as he follows her, he sees a strange figure attacking someone. Dobar suddenly stops him from shooting the figure, and they chase the figure. It gets away, and Lorm threatens to arrest her if she doesn't open up. Dobar explains that their prehistoric ancestors had teeth and ate flesh instead of drinking their food. A month ago, they found a frozen specimen of this race. Assuming it was dead, they thawed it for study, but the specimen was still alive. The specimen escaped from the lab, and they are now trying to recapture the being.

Armed with the knowledge, the authorities order a curfew and search for the specimen. Lorm and Dobar find traces of the specimen and enter an abandoned structure. Lorm, Dobar, Helis, and backup search the place. The specimen kills the backup and threatens Dobar. Lorm sacrifices himself to save Dobar, and Helis kills the specimen. Lorm is given a hero's funeral. Meanwhile, Dobar and Helis are told to start the genetic project using dna samples taken from the specimen.
