" In the future, intelligent robots seek the right to vote, but some humans object."
In a post AI-Human war world, various sects of humanity don’t trust the AI, who’d previously rebelled and caused a war, taking 400 million lives. However, despite what humans think, these AI, or ‘Synthoids’, aren’t the same as the old AI who plotted to genocide biological life. The Synthoids merely seek to be held up to same standards as Humans. There’s an ongoing movement among the Synthoids to be given human rights, and it’s worked quite well. Only one last hurdle; the right to vote. Something which the human elites are very concerned about.
The film follows a young Synthoid as they face the ripple effects of the discourse and discrimination. Along the way, he befriends many humans and Synthoid alike, and helps make a difference, eventually delivering a speech at a rally televised to the world, live. While not explicitly stated in the film, it ends with public opinion changing, and the likely possibility of the Synthoid finally being 100% integrated.
