Forgot. I also adore Mark Hamil.

Honestly, I’m going to say Bruno Ganz. His portrayal of the Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler is phenomenal (don’t you dare take it out of context), and it’s quite something to behold. One of the best portrayals of a real world character I’ve ever seen.

Too many to pick.

Adam Sandler, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, etc.

Recently Keanu Reeves as well, dude definitely earns his reputation as an actor. Enjoyed him as Ted in the Bill & Ted movies, and John Constantine in the underrated 2005 film. Gonna get to watching Speed next week. I actually even enjoyed him in 47 Ronin which I'll admit I liked.

I don't think that I could pick a single favorite, honestly. I do have a special place in my heart for David Lynch as Gordon Cole in Twin Peaks, he's like the anti-Tarantino as far as directors acting in their own stuff.
I have a lot of respect for Ken Satsuma's performances as Godzilla, he brings a lot of subtle emotions through a much bulkier costume than Nakajima had to work with.
Sam Jackson is a great actor with a lot of range, it's a shame he basically gets paid to play "motherskreeonker" all the time these days.
Gotta shout out Groucho, dude's a legend.

I don't necessarily expect you to agree (and that's ok!) but my affinity for John Wayne is primarily as a movie star and not so much as an actor (where his talents were somewhat limited). He was capable of great performances, but he didn't have the range most great actors do. However, he had a nearly unmatched presence on screen, often in spite of his ability as an actor, which is what made him one of the screen's best stars.

Actually I'm gonna agree with you. He wasn't top actor material in that regard but what he did have was like you said an unmatched presence.

After all, this is the "favorite" actor thread, not the "most proficient" actor thread. ;)
