One of them is fantastic, the other got better on repeat viewing.
The one with Magneto McKellen or another movie with the same name?

I'm guessing you mean 12AM as the former and Phantasm as the latter? If so, I agree. Phantasm's mystery story is really weak, the movie is a lot better when you already know the big twist and can focus on the more interesting details.Rurouni Senator wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 1:39 pmOne of them is fantastic, the other got better on repeat viewing.

McKellan. I freaking love that movie and honestly would be ecstatic to get him to play a still in his mental prime traditional Sherlock. He just really nailed the role for me. Also the movie was just really really well made and polished to me. It's not just one of my favorites of the past decade, but among my favorite Sherlock Holmes films in general.Rurouni Senator wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 1:39 pmOne of them is fantastic, the other got better on repeat viewing.

Wow, my list has nearly completely changed since I posted this, even though it was a little over a year ago.UltramanGoji wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 9:44 pm Newer list than before. Same shtick though: fifty movies, first twenty posted outside of the spoiler.
No! Don’t insinuate that including one of the holy pieces of modern media is “cheating”!
I didn't mean it as disrespect but rather that it works so well because of how the show builds up the characters. For that reason its completely inseparable from the show. Now in many ways that does make its accomplishments that much more impressive, but its not really comparable to the vast majority of other movies because of that.
Agreed. The End of Evangelion isn't anything resembling a standalone story, its impact is entirely dependent on the preceding twenty-six episodes.Jetty_Jags wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:04 pmI didn't mean it as disrespect but rather that it works so well because of how the show builds up the characters. I can't stand Prometheus. I like a lot of elements of it, but as a whole it is a mess.
Sorry for the very late reply. And your guess is correct.Rando Yaguchi wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 4:34 pmI'm guessing you mean 12AM as the former and Phantasm as the latter? If so, I agree. You got some brave choices in there.

No, no, I’m being serious. You put G98 in your top 10 on a Godzilla forum. Ditto with MLP.Gojira1604 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:54 pmThis feels sarcastic: ecis de
