That better fucking not be $60.

*looks up price*

So a digital purchase of that game is $40? Still seems a bit much. The gameplay better be fucking worth it.

Any fans of the tv series here? It wasn't necessarily related to the movies but was still part of the franchise and a somewhat decent show on its own

It recently occurred to me that The Final Chapter was the first F13 movie by a filmmaker who came in with a preconceived notion of what a Friday the 13th movie is "supposed" to be like. I wonder how much that contributed to the uptick in gratuitous nudity and characters being made intentionally unlikeable to get the audience to root for their deaths.

Looks like there's a rights battle going on for the franchise: http://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3441 ... tle-heats/.

Can't say I feel he has any grounds to claim full ownership. The Jason we all know and love... the walking, unstoppable juggernaut of death (and undead sometimes) that wears a hockeymask and brandishes anything as a weapon, but favors machetes, wasn't even part of the original film.

These types of legal battles almost always swing in favor of the companies that own the rights, but I guess we'll see what happens. This is probably just Miller trying to make some quick cash.

Not only is that ridiculous and pointless, it's also founded in part on a pretty bizarre misreading of the ending of the original Friday the 13th.

Plus, the director of part 9 doesn't get to retroactively alter the meaning of events in parts 1-8.

Apparently, Max Landis pitched a idea for a film that united the iconic horror movie slashers.

Look, I’m all for my favourite slashers being in the same movie but this idea sounds HORRIBLE.

Man, as soon as I read that he pitched a "found footage Gremlins reboot" I instantly had suspicions (which turned out to be correct, that is garbage).

But let's be honest, what story uniting all these iconic horror villains could someone come up with that WOULDN'T read like desperate fan fiction?

Well, Jason is finally back home at Paramount Pictures, due to some studio finagling between Paramount and WB/New Line. Hopefully, Paramount will return Friday the 13th to it's low-budget roots, which is where it's success came from. The biggest budget was for Freddy vs Jason, at $30 million, but it brought in over $100 million worldwide. Only ONE F13 lost money, Jason X, which is a shame cuz it was a lot of fun. If they keep the budgets low, say $5-10 mil. per picture, then Paramount will continue to make money on the franchise, as they did up til Part VIII...
