Re: What is your favourite song of all time?
I'm not entirely sure why this is my favorite song, but I think it has something to do with its role in my own personal development. During my teenage years this was always the song I went back to, especially when times where going rough, and when I was loosing sense of my own personal identity. While I usually tend to like more lyrically, narratively, or thematically complex songs, I think there is almost a poetic elegance in its simplicity. As if its telling me to stop overthinking things for just a little while, relax, and realize that even if you don't know where you are going, things will end up alright.

Hmm, wonder if my side of TK is just wacked this week, but that's not playing like it should. This might work?Jetty_Jags wrote:

It's because the link you posted was of the video in the context of a playlist. The YouTube tags here are very particular: it won't work if you use a mobile link, a time-stamped link ("play at current video time"), or when the video is linked from a playlist. The latter makes it frustrating if you're trying to share something here from a playlist you have on YouTube.Jetty_Jags wrote:Thanks Gomi! not sure what I did wrong

Too many good songs to pick a definitive favorite. I do have a favorite music video, though.

I'd have to say this gem from Bob Seger:
I just love how it manages to be upbeat while also having a relaxing, mellow quality to it.

Tough question. Might have to pick 1 from each of the main genres I listen to:
Classical: Beethoven's 6th Symphony (Pastoral)
Opera: Die Walkure, Richard Wagner
Hip-Hop/Rap: The World is Yours, Nas
Jazz: My Favorite Things, John Coltrane
Rock: Free Bird, Lynard Skynard

I don't really listen to single songs anymore so here are my favorite albums of all time, in no particular order but ranked here by how frequently I listen to them. I narrowed it down to 42, consisting of death metal, brutal death metal, thrash metal, heavy metal, grindcore, hardcore, crust punk, punk, and 90s hip hop.

Tough to pick a single song. Gun to head, I might say something like "Strawberry Fields Forever" or "Good Vibrations" as the best recordings I can think of. Generally, the "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields" double A-side single would be my pick, if I can cheat by selecting one record.

Best I can do is name two.
"Mist in the Mire" from the Unravel soundtrack:
And Svartsot's "Bersaerkergang":
I enjoy Scandinavian folk music in general. You think I'm quiet? You wish I would be quiet if you make the mistake of getting me started on that subject. It's about as dangerous a subject for me to bring up as my parrot is. I simply will not stop once I get started.

It’s hard, but ultimately I think it goes to An American Trilogy by Elvis Presley. This version from 1975 blows me away every time.

I have no idea where to even start but I guess I'll go with "Money" by Pink Floyd who made the best album of all time as well as my favorite piece of art/media ever.

This metal remix of Ahtal-Ka's theme might just take the cake for me:
