It seems a little hard to believe given all the other inhospitable, sparsely populated parts of the world that have rats. If cold weather and small human populations are an obstacle, how do rats get by in Nunavut or the Yukon?

I know we have some Albertans here on TK. Is there any truth to this, or is it mostly just some kind of bs propaganda?

^I'm just south of you in Montana, and I honestly thought we didn't have rats for the longest time. Turns out we do, but I've never heard of them infesting anyone's home. Mice, sure, but most of our rats seem to be wild (kangaroo rats, woodrats, and apparently common Norway rats too).

In all fairness, I can only remember ever seeing one rat here in Georgia, in a Walmart at night. My area has plenty of predators (cats, foxes, owls, hawks, snakes, etc.) that probably do a lot to keep the numbers down, so that's likely why. Mice hold their own very well, though.

Albertan here. So far as I know, it's true. I've never seen a rat around here.

The province has had a program that started back in the 50's, when rats first reached the province's border, dedicated to keeping the place rats free.

That Netflix walkout that happened recently. I haven't watched Dave's special, The Closer, yet, but according to some people I've seen on Twitter, there aren't any anti-LGBT jokes in his special and that these protesters are just freaking out over nothing. Where were these protesters when Netflix distributed a film about little girls twerking last year?
