It’s basically the toy-equivalent to generation loss. The later releases of the Imperial Godzilla especially suffer from that as they look like they were cast from existing figures and not the master mold. The plastic is a lot cheaper as well and nothing like the rubber used for the earlier ones.

Oh wow, those look great. I think some would criticize the Biogoji sculpt, but I really like it.

Funny you mention that, as this biogoji was resculpted slightly to fix the weird neck. Its not exactly what I wanted but it looks pretty good still. In the time since I asked my artist to resculpt it Ive warmed up to the original sculpt quite a bit.

Man, I didn’t even know about that Dark Horse Godzilla figure. Between that and the reprints, does anyone know why that series is getting so much love right now?

It’s amazing because I have an expensive bike, and while japan is relatively safe on things like that, it feels like a gift with utility and purpose+Godzilla, which is the things I love.

She also got me a Chibi Gojira shirt, which is nice.

I like it when artists take liberties. Although I love suit accurate sculpts, it gets a little boring after a while when all of your figures start to look the same.
