My FIRST monster arts was 94 Godzilla and my LAST monster arts was Super MechaGodzilla. I got 94 Goji in 2012 and Supa MG in 2017.

I think the '94 was most people's first MA since it was you know the first. Man, the MA threads back in those days were crazy....God, I miss those days.GODZILLA2877 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:15 pm My FIRST monster arts was 94 Godzilla and my LAST monster arts was Super MechaGodzilla. I bet everyone was in awe of the 94 figure. I know I was just from the pictures.goji89 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:48 pmI think the '94 was most people's first MA since it was you know the first. I still like the OG '94 MA but man it did not age well. Limited in it's articulation and wonky eyes but at the time it was a beaut.

G'89 is a pretty amazing figure, but given that I immediately put him in a battle display with Ghidorah, I discovered there's one thing he can't do that my Rebirth G can do - look slightly upward. He's quite restricted in that sense, even at the waist, which is mildly disappointing given how that suit was known for its neck flexibility, and also the fact that this figure will often be posed facing off against a taller rival (Biollante and/or Ghidorah).

Re: Rebuild of S.H. MonsterArts 1.1 [ABRIDGED]
I had a similar problem, as Biollante, NECA Kong, the future SCV Ghidorah, etc are all rather tall. My 'go to' for my display has remained my Music Box Godzilla, simply because he was a bit taller than the average MonsterArts scale. Not 'perfect' by any stretch, especially as I mix and match monsters without any concern as to who was in what movie, but for 'all around' use he's the best for me as he can look most of them in the eye. Of course, the neck on that one is far LESS posable than the usual MonsterArts neck...

I don't think the suit actually could look up, at least in this gif you posted as an example, this was an animatronic upper half that was created for close ups only.Poe Ghostal wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 5:04 am which is mildly disappointing given how that suit was known for its neck flexibility, and also the fact that this figure will often be posed facing off against a taller rival (Biollante and/or Ghidorah).

The rebirth version of G'94 is one of my favorite figures ever. Simple but effective, really - looks amazing, poses in just about every way possible, and it's a wicked representation of the character, design wise. Really can't ask for more.

Minor nitpick but it's G95.Mechagigan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 12:14 am The rebirth version of G'94 is one of my favorite figures ever. I think you are referring to the 95 figure, 94 figure is solid but definitely can't move that much.Mechagigan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 12:14 am The rebirth version of G'94 is one of my favorite figures ever. You're correct, Naruto65. Head movement in the suits was not introduced until 'vs Mothra' (side to side) and 'vs Mechagodzilla' (up and down) IIRC.Naruto65 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 10:10 pmI don't think the suit actually could look up, at least in this gif you posted as an example, this was an animatronic upper half that was created for close ups only.Poe Ghostal wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 5:04 am which is mildly disappointing given how that suit was known for its neck flexibility, and also the fact that this figure will often be posed facing off against a taller rival (Biollante and/or Ghidorah).

I just realized that when Godzilla's head was in Biollante's mouth in the movie, the head angle was unnaturally 'fixed', I hadn't realized there was a mechanical reason for that! I learned something new today.

Has G89 made it to any U.S. sellers yet? I'm finding myself to be getting antsy as the end of the month draws near

No. The ports in CA are extremely backed up. There's over 170 ships waiting to unload in San Pedro as of last Wednesday.Missingno. wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:04 am Has G89 made it to any U.S. sellers yet? I'm finding myself to be getting antsy as the end of the month draws near
Zinogre which was released August 31st still isn't available yet.
It's looking like Japan will have released 3 SHMA before the US gets any of them. (Gigan releases on Sept 24)

Just stopping by to express my appreciation for this figure. Even my recently acquired trio of Shin figures, that I love dearly, just can't compare to this guy. Pure Sakai brilliance.

Did anyone manage to see the Moguera leak before it vanished off the face of the internet?
