Why can't they get Godzilla adventure games right?
Think that's bad Gamera doesn't even have a fighting game.
Gamera kinda, sorta had a turn-based fighter on the Gameboy.
He was also featured in City Shrouded in Shadow, except you don't play as him, merely run from him and the Gyaos.

But yeah, it's a crying shame that Godzilla Generations: Maximum Impact is the closest thing we have to a competently-made Godzilla adventure game and that game sucks to high Heaven.

Lmao to be fair like i said they're superb at city destruction and visuals, even their stories are pretty good.

Though yeah i'd rather the annual winner of the Worst Game Company not take hold of the license. Loot boxes can die.

We already got that, it's a dumb slot machine made for casinos called Monster Bet and it has both Monsterverse Godzilla and Monsterverse King Kong.

You can bet they made a monster misstep, pretty sure the target demograph for the Monsterverse isn't old enough to drink, let alone gamble.

I would like a retro style updated version of Monster of Monsters that fixes all the issues and adds some other goodies as well.

So anyone that is willing to make that should get it.

I actually think Unreal would be one of the best choices due to how flexible and stable it is

No. Let me fix that for you. Anyone who's not a mobile developer or EA, Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft, 2K and Rockstar, Bethesda, Square Enix, Capcom, Konami, or WB Interactive.

Keep them ALL the fuck away from Godzilla.

Rockstar and Capcom could make a nice game at least.. till they keep charging for crappy DLC and milk it for all it's worth. The other's either are gonna make a game that's completely unfinished and rub it off (EA, Bethesda), add loot boxes (Konami, EA, Activision) or force in politics (WB, Blizzard)... I haven't played 2K or Square games yet so i don't know what they'd do.

Capcom wouldn't be a bad company really, they've made great progress the past few years. The Monster Hunter games, the Resident Evil remakes

Why would you not want Capcom?

Capcom's only in the "okay" section when it comes for companies making Godzilla games. Problem is they lose out pretty hard the moment you realize much better options are out there.

What's wrong with Capcom? They managed to turn themselves around before it was too late.

I think a monster being added in later as DLC is better than not making the cut at all.

Not that I’m opposed to Capcom doing a Godzilla game, it’s just that I doubt they’ll ever license another IP outside of Marvel ever again.

I'm actually surprised we haven't got a WB Interactive Godzilla game yet what with WB's prominence in the Monsterverse

Dumb question, but if a MonsterVerse game were to made, would WB games have to be involved? I'm planning on getting the PS5 but I'm paranoid I'll miss out on a potential new Godzilla game this generation assuming they sell to Microsoft & go Xbox exclusive.

^If there was a Godzilla game that was primarily Monsterverse-based, then yes, WB games will be involved by default.

When you say primarily MonsterVerse based - does that mean that someone else could conceivably use the Legendary designs for some monsters (like the 2014 game) since the monsters are originally owned by Toho? For example, Sony or something could make a Godzilla game that has the Legendary designs as long as the game doesn't reference the Monsterverse? I know the rights to Godzilla meant that Toho got all of the rights to the '98 version after Tristar's deal expired, so are the Legendary versions of the Toho monsters the same?

I don't think that's how it works. You have to pay Legendary a separate price to use the MV designs/kaiju, and also pay Toho for just using the Godzilla lisence. That's probably why the Legendary incarnations don't show up in Godzilla: Defense Force. Not worth paying the extra price.
