That's because it is a lion roar
It's a tiger roar :P
Well obviously! :P I just wish he would have picked one that didn't sound so similar to the MGM lions roar.

I wish he could of used a kaiju roar to be honest. My only gripe with all the footage is the sound design. It just sounds off to me.

Love how Godzilla roars without moving his mouth... stands out more than the Showa era when they occasionally did that.

Ya, some of the sound edits and effects sound a bit akward, along with some of the editing. I get the feeling this isn't the finished product, that he's going to go through and tighten things up though. It doesn't really sound finished to me yet, as if there is still some work to be done. Still, his use of Ifukube music is spot on!

It looks like the the director is wanting to premier the final movie at g-fest 2016!! But he will only be able to if the organizers of g-fest help bring him over here!

Random thought. If/when this finally gets released, would it be considered a Showa or a Millennium movie?

I'd consider it a Showa movie, as the film was released back before the Heisei series even began. Plus, it has more of a Showa vide going on with it, which I love! :)

It'll be considered a "Neo-Heisei" ;)

I'd consider it neither, since it's not an official Toho movie

^ Pretty much. But in terms of 'looks', then it is closer to Showa.

It will be interesting to see how TOHO responds to this...

It being official or not is irrelevant. I'm talking about which era in Japanese history should we consider this movie? Back in the '80s, when it was actually filmed? Or 2016 (or beyond), when it finally sees release?

I mean, we use the terms "Showa," "Heisei," and "Millennium" for characters like Gamera, Ultraman, and Guilala and they have nothing to do with Toho whatsoever.

i would call it a Showa movie, both in inspiration and the year of its creation. 1983 would fall before the official Heisei period.

I'm really excited about this, it looks awesome! I love how it's so close to a Showa film in terms of look and feel. Werewolves are my favorite kind of monster besides Kaiju so it's great to see Godzilla fight a giant one! My only gripe is that the Werewolf turns white after growing giant, I think he would look better if he still had black hair when Kaiju sized. Still, that King Goji replica looks amazing! :D

Best kaiju game ever. Like, seriously, awesome to play and full of cool little nods to the films that make it up. Ten out of ten. Worth waiting for.

Found a new clip that's been posted.
I am very curious how a car chase with disco music fits into the plot!

EDIT: Just realized the link isn't working. Here is the link on its own.

I read a couple years ago that they were in talks with Toho to get this released on DVD once it was finished. I wonder, do the talks involve Toho actually putting their stamp on the release, or are they just wanting Toho to promise not to sue them when it gets an indy release?
