| Synopsis |
| The Gransazers reminisce over
their previous adventures, while Ichiro Horiguchi is reunited
with his old friend: Astronomer Hijikata. Unfortunately,
it appears that Hijikata is under the control of Stucus,
an alien from the planet Shiyo, who tries unsuccessfully
to persuade Horiguchi to abandon the Gransazers. He dispatches
Gig-Fighters to the area and splits from the young Astronomer.
Thankfully, this gives the Sazers the opening they need,
as they rush in and quickly defeat the Gig-Fighters and
Stucus. |

This episode basically recaps the previous two story
arcs using the age old tradition of massive amounts
of stock footage, making this the series' "clip
show", a term made famous for the degree of
parody the concept has received from The Simpsons.
Unfortunately, the story here follows the stereotype
all too well, and ends up being the least enjoyable
of the series. As expected, the characters basically
retell their adventures from beginning to end, while
others happen to stumble in with all the subtleness
of a half hour christmas special (example: dropping
off a suit, "happened to be in the area")
just as the retelling hits their introduction in
the series. To further cement this episode as awful,
the crew is also fairly out of character as well,
with the most notable offense being Ichiro Horiguchi's
sudden perversion over his assistant Mika Shido.
There is also a side story in this episode where
Horiguchi is reintroduced to Astronomer Hijikata
from his past, which occurs while the others are
reminiscing. However, it becomes painfully obvious
to the viewer that all is not as it seems, and when
Horiguchi suspects her, the alien in control of
Hijikata gives up and basically reveals their entire
plan before the Gransazers rush in and easily defeat
him.
Bottom line, this episode is unneeded, unimportant
and better left skipped altogether. The alien introduced
here never shows up again, despite escaping, and
the only relevance this has to others in the series
is the introduction of Horiguchi's wig, which is
reintroduced during the credits of the final episode. |
