News Article:
Classic Media "Godzilla
Collection" |
Details concerning Classic Media's next Godzilla
release are finally starting to emerge, and it looks
to be a box set for the King of the Monsters. At present,
information is scarce, although an idea about what might
be contained in the collection is starting to form.
The first instance of the set being mentioned was on
Amazon,
where the online retailer included the release date
of November 20th, 2007, and the detail that the collection
would contain eight discs. More recently, Bestbuy
has added a listing of the set, mentioning that Godzilla
(titled Gojira in the set) [1954], Ghidorah,
the Three-Headed Monster (1964) and Terror
of Mechagodzilla (1975) will be included.
Consequently, it seems quite possible that this
collection might be the first way for fans to get
a hold of the firm's newer releases for both Ishiro
Honda's 1975 film and, possibly, All
Monsters Attack (1969). With the eight
disc figure, it seems likely that this will include
the firm's two disc Gojira
release along with the other seven Classic Media licensed
Godzilla films (Godzilla
Raids Again, Mothra
vs. Godzilla, Invasion
of Astro-Monster), although this is only
speculation at this point.
The set appears to have a retail price of $80, with
both online retailers charging $56-60 for the collection.
More news related to the set as it breaks.
Update: The site Creepy
Classics has
additional information regarding the contents of the
set, and also has included a shot of the box art, which
is seen above. The added details includes a rundown
