Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla:
Tokyo S.O.S.
|
The
movie will be a direct sequel to last years Godzilla
X Mechagodzilla (2002). The known kaiju for the film are
Godzilla, Mothra and Kiryu. Shogo
Tomiyama will be the film's producer. Michiru Oshima, who
did the soundtrack for Godzilla
X Megaguirus (2000) and Godzilla
X Mechagodzilla (2002), will return to do the score for
the next film. Masaaki Tezuka, who did Godzilla
X Megaguirus (2000) and last years Godzilla entry, is
expected to direct.
It
is unknown at this time if the Mothra featured will be completely
new to the timeline or not. The original Mothra's cameo appearance
in Godzilla
X Mechagodzilla (2002) seems to hint that the original
Mothra, or a offspring of the original, might appear in the new
movie.
Update: Rumblings from J.D. Lees, the person behind G-Fan,
is that the film will feature two Mothra larvas along with the
adult.
Toho's
Godzilla site, http://www.godzilla.co.jp/,
has updated with some Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo
S.O.S. information. Included is a head shot of Mothra, which
appears to be retaining its fuzzyness that was a trademark of
the Showa incarnation.
Update: Kameba, of Yog
Monster from Space (1970) fame, will make a, very limited,
appearance in the film. A confrontation between Kameba and Godzilla
is rumored, and the result appears to be Kameba's death, as his
carcase later washes ashore.
Hiroshi
Koizumi, who played Dr. Shinichi Chujo from Mothra
(1961), will reprise his role as Dr. Chujo in Godzilla X Mothra
X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. The Shobijin, or twin faries,
will be in the newest Godzilla film, this time portrayed by Masami
Nagasawa and Chihiro Otsuka.
Kiryu's
chest mounted Zero Cannon is to be replaced in the newest film,
reason being that it was damaged in Godzilla
X Mechagodzilla (2002).
