A
release date, along with box art, for the long awaited western
releases of Godzilla
vs. Megaguirus (2000) and Godzilla,
Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack
(2001) from Tristar have finally been set. As reported on Sony's
page, the street date for both, Region 1, DVDs is January 6th,
2004.

Both
DVDs will be presented in widescreen, under their original 2.35:1
aspect ratios, and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. Both discs will
contain their original Japanese audio track, along with the addition
of a English dubbed track. English, and French, subtitles are
available on each DVD. The movies on both DVDs will clock in at
their normal 105 minute lengths, which hopefully means that both
will be uncut presentations of the films. Suggested retail price
for the individual DVDs is $24.96.
To
date, there is no word of any extras being included on either
disc.
Titles
for both of the films have been slightly changed to reflect their
international titles, which include the "X" in Godzilla
X Megaguirus has been dropped in favor of the more typical
"vs." while Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant
Monsters All Out Attack sees the addition of an "and"
between Mothra and King Ghidorah in the title.
