New Ultra movie:
MEGA-MONSTER BATTLE: ULTRA GALAXY LEGENDS THE MOVIE

That is totally a Japanese title through and through. *whew*
It will be a crossover film featuring the characters from the recent Ultra Galaxy series (one in 07-08 and one in 08-09), the ever-popular Ultraman Mebius, the classic Ultraman and UltraSeven, and the new, evil Ultraman Belial.
Honestly, it's not the film I want but it looks a lot cooler than I expected when I first caught wind of it a little bit ago. I'm a little tired of these "event films" like Ultraman Mebius & Ultraman Brothers (2006) and Great Decisive Battle! The Super 8 Ultra Brothers! (2008) and now this one - I'd love to see them return to something more along the lines of 2004's ULTRAMAN THE NEXT.
That said, Tsuburaya is still, like, the last of the big three studios that still produces quality tokusatsu. Toho's all but given up and everything Toei makes just feels soulless these days. Plus, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I LOVED Super 8 Ultra Brothers after expecting it to be nothing more than a retread of the movie previous so I am hoping the same thing will happen here.
I'm tentatively excited for now. Ultraman and UltraSeven look pretty awesome in their capes and Belial looks pretty friggin' wicked. It'll also be great to finally see what Ultra Galaxy could look like with a real budget.
We shall see.

Maybe this will finally tell us how Ultra Galaxy is canon to the original showa timeline when kaiju from other timelines are running around all over the place. I'm sorry, but as an Ultra nerd it's something I just have to know.  But regardless I look forward to seeing this, Mebius and the Six Ultra Brothers was okay and I was dissapointed by Great Desecive Battle, hopefully that won't happen here.
As for the 100 monsters deal I wonder if they are all monsters from recent productions, although if Akumania, Zakira, Neosaurus, Golgolem, or even Kaiprose make an appearence (heck, throw in Zebub for good measure) then I'll be happy.  |

I just had to drop in here and say how unreasonably cool Ultraman and Ultraseven wearing capes is.

Yeah, I'm excited for this. I'm sure you all knew I would be.
Honestly, I'm all for more movies in place of another tv show, since lately its been nothing but revivals and whatnot.
I'm loving the design for Ultraman Belial, especially since its so different and just plain wicked. He's clearly not your typical bad guy.

This film looks interesting. I didnt think Reimon would have a crossover with the main Ultra-universe.

It looks like Ultraman is going Super Robot Wars with itself! (I kid) I may not know anything on Ultraman Boy and I need to see the last episode of Neos, but otherwise this is intruiging. Maybe they'll add Seven's commander from the last two episodes of Ultraseven? That would be cool.
I also have to admit that having Neos and Seven Two One (yes folks that's how it's said) appear in the original timeline is a good thing, it'll confirm that the different Ultraverses (I did not get that from HellSpawn) have pretty much come together since the events of Great Desicive Battle, meaning everything is pretty much canon now. |

Not really. This is most likely a non-canon movie.
