Which song (or songs) to Mothra sung by the Shobijin/Elias/Cosmos do you think is the best. My personal favorite is the one that Mona and Lora sing while Leo is spinning his cocoon in ROM. _________________

No contest.
The Sacred Fountain from Mothra vs Godzilla, easily. _________________ "As Godzilla prepares the other monsters in mortal combat, there seems to be no question as to who will win." - News Reporter, Destroy All Monsters, AIP version |

The classic Mothra song, an instant classic. "Let's Summon Happiness" does get me sentimental though, mostly for its nostalgic values. I would just like to point out that neither the Cosmos, Elias or Millenium Shobijin can hold a candle to Emi and Yumi. _________________

Agreed, and don't forget Pair Bambi.
I have to say "Sacred Spring". It's such a beautiful song, and probably Ifukube's best work. However, I'll always have a soft spot for the traditional Mothra song.
Although I think Ifukube's score for Mothra vs. Godzilla is the best kaiju eiga score, Yuji Koseki's work on the original Mothra is right up there. It's a shame Koseki didn't do more Toho fantasy films. _________________ Final Wars blows.

"Mothraleo". That's it (I couldn't remember the name).

I can't believe I forgot about that one, but yeah, the same. I just listened to it on Youtube and remembered how heart-melting it is. _________________

"Haora Mothra" is my personal favorite, but can't go wrong with the original. _________________

| Sacred Spring comes close, but the original has always been the one I like best. |

So.. Hard.. to choose.
I always liked Mahara Mosura but I also love Sacred Springs and the original.
I think I'm going to have to go with the majority and say Sacred Springs as well. It's just an amazing piece of music. Very moving. _________________

I choose the Mothra song rendition from 1992 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCqgxLv9riM). Take out the first 12 seconds and it would be perfect IMO.
Though too bad I cannot say this since this was not really sung my the shobijin, buth rather just samples...

That's definitely a nice rendition, but it doesn't hold a candle to the way the song was sung in 1961 and '64. There's just something incredibly beautiful and haunting about the way the Ito sisters sing these songs that put them in a class by themselves. _________________ "As Godzilla prepares the other monsters in mortal combat, there seems to be no question as to who will win." - News Reporter, Destroy All Monsters, AIP version |

I like the funny 2003 version that comes with the Tokyo S.O.S Soundtrack. _________________

The song from MvsG is my favorite. I would say the classic orginal Mothra, but I don't like the drums in that version. _________________
