I don't think anyone is taking it seriously at all. The thread has devolved into quoting Don Frye. I think that is proof to the quality of the film.

I freaking love Final Wars, hell, my girlfriend loves Final Wars.
I guess I understand why 99% of the "hardcore" fanbase hates it, and it's not exactly Oscar-worthy, but as far as this series is concerned, it feels like a breath of fresh air. A fun, stupid, insane breath of fresh air, but a breath of fresh air none the less. |

| I guess whether you like it or not depends on which era you grew up watching. I grew up with the Showa era films,which Final Wars caters to, so I enjoyed it. Fans seeing the Hesei and millenium films would see something a little different that what they're use to. |

See I grew up with the Showa movies. I put Showa on a pedestal far above any Millennium or Heisei movie.
I HATE Final Wars.

100% agreed.
Grew up on the Showa films (and the Vs Series as well). I love the Showa films. The Heisei/Vs films are okay. I watch them because I have fond memories of seeing them for the first time, even if they aren't quality film. The Millennium series, for the most part, was a waste.
And Final Wars....
It is the only Godzilla film I do not enjoy.
