It's almost ironic that from Showa to Heisei, Gyaos goes from goofy to badass while Rodan goes from awesome ('56 at least) to stiff. _________________

Fire Rodan was disgustingly bad, while Gyaos was competently handled. I prefer the Showa incarnations for both, though. Something about Showa Gyaos is just so much creepier to me than his Heisei counterpart. _________________

I like how they re-designed Gyaos' wings. They feel much more natural. I like how they fold up. It bothers me when flying monsters have they're wings sticking out all of the time even if they're on land. Not so much in the older films, but in the modern ones. _________________ Tyler on the new forum.

Probably the freakish, upturned eyes and triangle head. _________________

| Fire Rodan for the addition of the beam, all Super Gyaos got was a movable neck and sunlight tolerance. |

Yes. Because every monster needs a beam. _________________

Super Gyaos also had a vastly improved design, by the way. Rodan...while I like the Heisei version, it is not much better than Showa. _________________ Heisei Godzilla monsters FTW! |

That being said, his execution was ***ty. Heisei Gyaos was done far better. |
Fully agree. Words can not describe how disappointed I was the first time I saw Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. Rodan really was just thrown in there to show how powerful the other two characters were, and I was very disheartened to not see Rodan be able to chip in at all in the final battle outside of sacrificing himself. Although keep in mind I'm obviously biased since the Showa Rodan is my favorite Toho monster.
Anyway, I agree that Heisei Gyaos was given a far better update. Vicious and menacing in a way that none of the other Heisei Gamera foes were able to convey. _________________ If it bites... don't mess with it!

| And Gyaos had more energy. He didn't just stand there and shoot lasers, or fly around dropping Gamera. It was an active and viscious fight. |

In a fight, Fire Rodan would really win big. But as far as execution goes, Super Gyaos. Super Gyaos was a menacing and cool bad guy. Rodan's design was awesome, but the execution sucked major balls. Fire Rodan really wasn't downgraded from his Showa incarnation. His Hesei self would kill the original easy, it's just that Godzilla Hesie was a god!! _________________ My rofl copta goes soi soi soi soi soi |

Gyaos. Fire Rodan was garbage, a defensive weakling with none of the personality of the Showa Rodan, just a generic looking pterosaur. Not to mention he had the misfortune of existing in the beam-obsessed Heisei universe....I'm surprised Miki didn't develop some sort of ray in those movies...
The only thing I liked about Fire Rodan was his initial fight with Godzilla, and his relationship with Baby. |

I wholeheartedly agree with you down to the "god!!" part lol.
Fire Rodan was my favorite Toho kaiju until I finally glimpsed SpaceGodzilla, for Fire Rodan was known to me since the early 90's when Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II first came out but SpaceGodzilla didn't appear to me until 1999 well Toho's SpaceGodzilla, because I use to think Trendmaster made up that monster.Anyway I loved Rodan knew of him for years before Gyaos, the only thing I wonder is why in the film they toned down his chest spikes if that is basically his defining feature, what really makes him a monster and not a giant animal. When I first seen Guardian of the Universe on T.V. HBO I believe, I was literally given the skeeves by Gyaos, his rolling eyes, disgusting nature, twitchy and erie with a super cutting laser I was thoroughly bugged by gyaos and I stuck with Rodan lol. _________________ I am also sincere ma petite, even when I lie. |

Gyaos looks stupid to me in all forms, although I was impressed with his makeover in the Heisei era, but not as much as Rodan's. _________________ OBEY THE FIST!!! |
