Yes, but I'm saying he didn't put enough analysis in and instead just put in his basic opinion, failing to mention what caused the weird vibe aside from it being adult, why the vibe disappeared, what he likes about the film, what he dislikes about the film, and how the film fares in terms of plot, how good the acting is, how good the score is, the special effects, and the pacing.

But I totally understand where he is coming from. I'm not exactly the type of person to put a lot of thought or effort into anything that doesn't require it unless I'm very, VERY interested in it.

Yes. But I'd say it's only PART of the criteria.

Like I said, it's not bad. But I wouldn't call it a review. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I forgot about that.

Godzilla vs. Biollante was the first Godzilla movie i ever saw, and of course i liked it. It got me hooked on the series. Great effects, great goji suit... great music. It really has it all.

I gotta say i really love the revamped Godzilla theme.

Someone who doesn't have the guts to actually show his face and post why...

Anyways, am I the only one who was tempted to make a Mr. T joke?

I first saw Godzilla vs Biollante around '96 or '97, sometime before the American one came out at least. I had seen a few Showa films and also 1985. Seeing 1985 before added a bonus since I could catch onto the continuity. It was one of the first times I noticed a true series aspect to the Godzilla films (or continuity). I was a preteen so I gobbled up the action like food on a plate. It was impressive at that time to see such a well developed and modern Godzilla, one that was updated for the current times (well 90's back then). It became my favourite Godzilla film and to this day it remains so. I just wish the damn thing would get out of ownership rights limbo and get released on DVD already. Same with 1985.

There's no ownership limbo for Biollante like 1985. Miramax still have the rights, but they just haven't released it on DVD for one reason or another.

Yeah, Miramax is just a bunch of dicks that sit on all the Asian films they buy up.

I saw this when I was 5! I had already seen all of the showa movies and 2 heisei. I loved it! I didn't really know what to think about this new Godzilla, but I couldn't give a rip, It was flippin awesome! I still have great memories about this movie, its so cool. Instant classic.

I didn't know TOHO continued making Godzilla films after the 70's until I saw the later films on Youtube and the 1954 version. They were amazing, especially the Anime-like Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla.
