I am also (very slowly) working on kaiju movies in quarantine. On the off chance you're curious: http://instagram.com/Xenofauna

Looks interesting, like that monster puppet. Is it supposed to be some kind of star-nose mole kaiju I think?

Half mole, half mammoth. A six year old pitched it and I got Matt Frank to fart out a concept sketch in like two minutes and we went from there.

Is Matt Frank easy to get in contact with? Figured a professional comic book artist would be difficult to get art from.

And the half and half thing is always a good way to get a new monster. I've got an idea for an orangutan porcupine kaiju (basically I wanted to combine Kong with Anguirus).

The combo kinda makes sense considering that when people first discovered mammoths, they though the beasts dwelled underground and caused earthquakes.
"Am I glad he's frozen in there and that we're out here, and that he's the sheriff, and that we're frozen out here, and that we're in there and I just remembered we're out here. What I wanna know is where's the caveman?"

Probably not but he's my best friend so it comes with some perks sometimes, haha!

I learned that after the puppet was done. Made me very happy.

Should add that bit of trivia to the plot of your movie somehow. An underground kaiju causing earthquakes could be cool.

Maybe travel to the kaiju's underground world through a big drilling vehicle? Love those stupid big drills.

Someone really needs to make a modern Sinbad film in the same vein as the Harryhausen ones.

Okay, I updated (finally). I'm scanning through Avery Guerra's facebook page to get some of the titles. I'll be including the plethora of PRC giant animal films in a little bit.

People's Republic of China. Sorry, at the Kung Fu Fandom forum, it's a more common acronym.

Ah. I know they did a giant snake movie recently. Or are going to. One of those.

I just remembered Sea Fever, was released this year. Saw at the Glasgow Frightfest this year, before everything turn to poop.

The film has the crew of a fishing boat encountering an unknown see creature.

I liked it a lot, but it's not really a giant monster movie.

The trailer for Love And Monsters is out.

It looks ok, I'm getting a strong Zombieland vides from it.

Oh. Kinda like Zombieland but with monsters.
Seems like a bug motif going on and that's cool.

Only monster design I like is that big maggot thing that gets blown up at the end of the trailer. The rest just seem to earthy for creatures that are reportedly alien in nature.

The trailer made me think of Zombieland by way of The Mist.

Edit: First post updated.

Zombieland meets A Quiet Place meets Them! I guess?

Maybe the aliens convert insects into kaiju or something? Like the aliens are a germ or small thing and mutant Earth stuff?
