anyways im probably in the minority when i say this but I have a very hard time getting excited for Pacific Rim when I would much rather have Godzilla, which is a movie that is bound to attract a heck of a lot more audiences than Pacific Rim. Plus I do not care for Del Toro after he basically pissed on the idea of doing Godzilla when that rumor was going around about Pacific Rim being Godzilla. Theyre putting all this effort and time into PR and nothing for Godzilla? Pacific Rim should have been the basis for the new Godzilla movie because that is practically what it is

According to LP's wikipedia page and list of all their movies Godzilla has a 2014 release date instead of a TBA and is their only movie for 2014

Teaser Trailer and a Poster, along with a Comic Con Panel Video.
Pretty good stuff, but I hope more comes out for the rest of the year.
Maybe this late Fall or early Winter.

Im willing to bet casting starts in the next couple of months. With filming either happening later this year or early 2013
Hopefully we get a release date in that time frame

With IMDB now listing Godzilla as in "pre-production" instead of "in developement" I think its safe to say things are really moving forward and we will start hearing more news within the coming months

True.

This year,(despite having a slow start) actually had a very good in take of news and updates.

But! Doesn't mean that we can't hope for a little bit more sprinkle of news to manifest over the remaining months.
Maybe a few more interviews, perhaps a minor update as stated within this thread before "In Production", or maybe a few more interesting tweets.

At this point, the script is finished and most likely approved by Toho (Or course changes can happen within the script, but all in all, the script is most likely finished and solid enough to move the project onward), so we don't have to worry about that anymore. All that matters now is production, and cast announcements. Which is something that I'm sure we're all hoping to hear very soon before this year is over.
