Godzilla's main theme should be in this movie at-least once, was i the only one disappointed it wasn't in the 1998 movie?
I mean Godzilla have his theme, doesn't need to play every time he is on screen but i think before the final battle in the film Godzilla's theme should kick in when he approaches i honestly think that would be amazing.

It's nice to see in fanmade music videos for something dark and emotional, but leave it out of the film, yeah. It's more a "tribute video" song than something I'd like to see in the movie.

^A very cliched tribute song. I've gotten tired of hearing it. So many youtube amv's with the same songs, RFAD, Linkin Park songs, and Breaking Benjamin songs.

I'd like a similar motif, but not the theme itself. It would seem to much like HAY FANS LOL LOOK IFUKUBE R WE KOOL NAO? But something like the little lick in GMK that sounds a bit like the 1954 theme, but for the theme from KKvsG (DUUNNNN, dun dun dun dun DUNNNN...), now that would be cool.

Not against the idea of it being used, and I do welcome the idea. However, I'm sure we probably get a more original score, though I'm sure the person who does the score might use a homage from Ifukube's Godzilla theme.

John Powell is great, but honestly saying he did well with HTTYD doesn't mean anything for this film. Both will have very different scores regardless.

Powell actually may be a good choice. He did a good job with the Bourne films as well.

Returning this thread back on some more srs rails, I'm going to echo that Michael Giacchino should score it. "Roar!" is friggin' awesome.

The following contains wishful thinking, proceed with caution:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N42H2cvbcY
Imagine this set to the aftermath of a monster attack.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpAAQrJ93w8
Imagine this set to the army mobilizing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyZhVsO6-2k
Imagine this set for a battle scene.

It's highly improbable a Godzilla film would try to emulate this style, but it would be such a nice change of pace if it happened. If only Hollywood could leave behind the "epic" sounding music for their blockbusters.

Although I think it's quite unlikely that he'll do the score, I do like the idea. Last Christmas I listened to his scores for Antarctica and Chariots of Fire and I like his style. Not to mention, his theme for 1492: Conquest of Paradise is truly a masterpiece.

Manowar would be a pretty good choice. Even though its a metal band they're albums always have great orchestral scores.

Why yes, that's a greeeeat idea. And all the songs will have titles like, "Kings of Metal", "Give your soul to Metal", "Metal Warriors". Their albums have cheesy, generic, stereotypical metal. It's like if Tenacious D took themselves seriously. If we're going with a metal band that has good orchestral scores, let Apocalyptica do it. And NOT with the distorted cellos, with some of their actual orchestra style music. They're really talented. BUT, I would rather a band NOT do the score for the movie. We need a composer.
