Nope. Unless I'm crazy (I wouldn't rule that out as a possibility), there's no mention of green. DAMN YOU, YOU DIRTY, LYING DVD COVERS!

Re: Soundtrack Discussion
So scratch the part of it being played by someone in the background. Do it the way Iron Man did it.HeiseiGodzilla117 wrote:In the sound track.... NOT in the movie itself. i agree with KL...
and the whole "it cant be in the movie because it causes more problems!" thing...
The iron man song was in Iron Man as well as Iron Man 2... didnt screw the movie up at all...
Or, Hell, once Godzilla is named, they have a band come up with the song. Lil' retconning for the song, but hey, it'd work.

I have no problem with the song being on the soundtrack. Only with it being in the movie itself with the characters aware of it.

Ifukube Theme
What would your opinion be if they had the Akira Ifukube Godzilla Theme (non carbon copy from previous soundtracks!!) in the movie at least once? kinda what they did with the Millennium films (Minus the Kiryu films).

Re: Ifukube Theme
Yeah seriously, as good as the song is, it'd be strange if Godzilla was attacking or crumbling the United States and you hear in the song "There goes Tokyo, Go Go Godzilla!" lol I wouldn't say play it at the end, but maybe when he makes his entrance to fight the enemy monster or something.

A revamp of the classic rampage theme would be perfect for the credits.

That's what I was thinking too. Sorta like what they did in Spider-Man.KaneLocke wrote:Or, Hell, once Godzilla is named, they have a band come up with the song. Lil' retconning for the song, but hey, it'd work.

I like it, but I don't care. If it's in it... my reaction will probably be, "Oh look, they threw us a bone... YAY". If it's not, oh well.

Re: Ifukube Theme
Yeah, I have a really, really hard time seeing the theme being in there...though it would be cool if that had someone like Hans Zimmer do his own rendition of it.
It'll never happen, but it'd be cool.

Re: Ifukube Theme
I have three options where they could use the classic Ifukube theme(s): the main title sequence, Godzilla arriving for a final confrontation, or the end credits.

Something like, "Blue Oyster Cult makes come-back with track titled after giant monster!" Or even something as simple as the band found an obscure Japanese monster legend, wrote a song about it, and subsequently Godzilla was named for it.
Now, I expect NEITHER of these, but these are just examples to make it work in the film.

Re: Ifukube Theme
I, on the other hand, would like to hear it in the movie, even if it's just the end credits.
HOWEVER, I think that's the only way it would work. Ifukube's scores just don't jive with modern Hollywood blockbusters. They're too... dramatic? Melodramatic maybe? Whatever, I just can't see it working in a modern American big-budget film.

Godzilla's theme before the battle with the monster foe would be nice.

Re: Ifukube Theme
Keep it subtle, I would much rather hear echoes from it then hear it blaring during the destruction scenes. It doesn't necessarily fit.

Re: Ifukube Theme
It's not really necessary to have Godzilla's theme in the movie, but it would be a nice touch. It would probably work best at the end credits but I wouldn't mind if it played before Godzilla fights his main opponent. I like that idea.

I like ES but yeah thats not their best track, nor does it really fit Godzilla.

Can agree with that. Love the song, but its incredibly overplayed.Hellspawn28 wrote:I find it annoying when they used "Requiem for a Dream" for trailers now these days. RFAD is one of my all time favorite movies, and the sound track is amazing but I rather not see it in this movie.
