But remember that Hollywood studios only get 25% portion from their Chinese boxoffice profit. So basically, certain Chinese boxoffice number has same value as half of domestic boxoffice. Ex) 160million chinese boxoffice = 80million U.S. domestic boxoffice

Legendary movies are in little bit better position than other Hollywood movies in that Wanda group owns no.1 theater chain in China so that they can earn more net profit by distributing.

According to IMDB (which is usually pretty good about release dates):

Slovakia: 22 April 2021
Sweden: 28 April 2021
Netherlands: 29 April 2021
Italy: 6 May 2021 (internet)
Bulgaria: 7 May 2021
Lithuania: 7 May 2021
Japan: 14 May 2021
France: 19 May 2021
Ukraine: 20 May 2021

So it looks like the two biggest ones, Japan and France, won't be until mid-May.

GvK will not be released in theaters in France. Will be out in VOD services from April 22.

I wonder what is going on in Germany.
No reports in English came up saying this when I checked it yesterday morning, though I see one or two now. They only JUST made this announcement a little more than a day ago.

I kid, i kid. I don’t actually hate KOTM (there are quite the amount of aspects i love, actually), it’s just that it’s my least favorite of the MV.

I’m just happy that GvK has succeeded financially and critically from critics, fans, and GA alike in this weird early-virus-vaccine period

GvK might very well be to the MV what the Avengers was to the MCU

Eh I made most of it's money already plus it's about time a new movie came out anyway but since it looks like it's gonna cross $400 million I'm pretty much satisfied with it's performance and I hope Mortal Kombat can make comparable numbers.

Yeah surpassing KotM is a pretty good milestone. Yeah, KotM didn’t rock the box office, but GvK came out during a pandemic and easily passed it. I’m thinking 450m is in play with current territories plus future territories.

Japan is struggling with Covid so it’ll be interesting to see what it does there.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject but what is the duration of a given film’s cinematic tenure average — like, 2 months or so?

It's usually like 6 to 12 weeks, although considering the pandemic some movies have been pushed to extremes. The Croods: A New Age has been in theaters for over 20 weeks now, as an example.

Added in 25 minutes 10 seconds:
Deadline reports GvK has crossed $80 Million in North America and $390 Million worldwide. They also report they believe it will be the first movie to cross $100 Million in North America since the Pandemic started:

‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Tops Box Office Again, Crosses $80 Million in the U.S.

I think the movie finishing up its run with numbers similar to Rampage ($101M in North America, $428M WW) is very possible, and that's a good thing. :)

I guess it would make sense that the movie gets at least a 2-month run seeing as how the first month it will have been featured on streaming as well — it really wouldn’t make much sense that a blockbuster film spend most of it’s tenure as a hybrid-release.

It's expected that GvK will fall to third place this week as Mortal Kombat and Demon Slayer: Mugen Train battle for first place. MK was originally expected to own this weekend, but Demon Slayer is putting in an unexpectedly strong showing in pre-release buzz. What's also a bit unclear is where general audiences go, since both MK and Demon Slayer are Rated R so GvK may not be quite so far behind.

Yup. Going to watch Demon Slayer today and there were a lot of seats already taken when i went to prepurchase my tickets. This was three days ago, mind you. Dunno if that bodes well for MK or GvK

It's fully expected that GvK would fall this week. It's been in theaters for almost a full month. It will probably make $3-5M this weekend. Nothing to stress.

It should cross $100M in NA in the coming weeks. That's VERY impressive, especially during a pandemic when theaters are not at full capacity & it's essentially on demand for free via HBO MAX.
