Matt Reeves, Zack Snyder, Guillermo Del Toro, JJ Abrams

Taika shouldn't be allowed near any franchise that has actual in-world consequences. Yes he made a solid Mandalorian episode, but i'd argue he made a huge event like Ragnarok into a Comedy Central original.

Why would you want those hacks anywhere near the MonsterVerse?

The argument could be made that JJ made objectively the worst Star Wars film(s) in the franchise, but he also helped with Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane so who knows.

Added in 59 seconds:
Snyder knows how to build an epic atmosphere, and he also knows visuals like the back of his hand. Give him a solid writer(s) and i promise he'll do something insane.

Because 300, MoS and BvS all had more atmosphere than most modern comic flicks combined.

JJ i'll partially agree with you but let's not pretend he contributed nothing to Cloverfield

I enjoyed 300 and Dawn of the Dead. He's better off sticking to those kind of movies but he needs to stay away from superheroes and I don't exactly trust him with Godzilla or Kong after Batman vs. Superman...

Just me though. Regardless I'll respect your opinion.

Likewise, i do think he could make a mean Rodan solo film though.

Vogt-Roberts should make a return. Del Toro and his surreal style would work good for a Solo Mothra film, Matt Reeves with Abrams as his producer and Drew Goddard would give quite a decent horror film in the vein of the first Cloverfield movie too. And Tarantino just for kicks.

Mr. Del Toro would make a spectacular MonsterVerse film. Also, Vogt Roberts should come back when the time is right.

I could see James Cameron doing a sci-fi horror themed King Ghidorah solo movie.

Please no, he'll stretch it out far above it's needed runtime and place the most boring story along with it. X_X

A guy who randomly stumbled upon this place one day, invested much too much time into it, and now appears to be stuck here for all eternity..and strangely enough, i do not regret it!

Agreed, Cameron I feel has lost his touch.

Well since all of this is fantasy anyways, I was imagining Cameron in his Terminator days.

I would really like to see the return of Gareth Edwards for a future Monsterverse film. His Godzilla wasn't perfect, but it was good enough to get Godzilla back into the spotlight. Give Edwards a good writer and I think he will turn out an excellent movie.

But besides him, I think Legendary has the right idea by hiring unknown talent to direct their Monsterverse films, and I think they should continue with this trend.
