Somewhat changing a headcanon of mine what Godzilla's species is. One of the three following does for me really.

-Archosaur and also the ancestor of all dinosaurs (Including birds) and reptiles.
-Synaspid with convergent evolution (Crocodilian armor-like skin).
-Descendant of an proto-amniote amphibian from the Carboniferous period (Especially given his gills) with convergent evolution (Crocodilian armor-like skin).

My headcanon is that M.U.T.O.'s evolved from placoderm fish hence their similar facial structure and how they reproduce with fish like eggs.

I never bought any of that "M.U.T.O.'s are mammals" crap.

The "Anguirus skeleton" is not Anguirus himself but another one of his species like Dagon was for Godzilla. (He was called Rokmutul perhaps?) He loyally served Godzilla until his death during the last battle with King Ghidorah: He charged straight into triple gravity beams and tackled KG into a glacier, giving Godzilla a clear shot with his atomic breath which caused the glacier to collapse and bury him in ice but then he succumbed to his wounds shortly after. Godzilla carried his body into his home in the hollow Earth and cremated him into a skeleton to honor him. (Titan culture works like that. Burning your corpse and keeping the remains displayed is a sign of respect, not disrespect)
