Who was the better Kiryu pilot?

Akane I felt opened Kiryu up more, and was a part of the cyborg. Akiba was just there to get the job done, and he was with a Kiryu that wasn't 100% battle ready. Godzilla 54's spirit was the best "pilot" though, as Kiryu is Godzilla's original body that he was possessing. The skeleton at least, as Kiryu was the new "flesh and muscle" for Godzilla to use if you will.

Didn't Kiryu remember it was Godzilla then start rampaging? Sorry, only saw this movie once years back with subtitles.

Godzilla's roar triggered Kiryu to go out of control. Godzilla stirred up the spirit in Kiryu, and the machine attacked the city until its battery ran out.

the brain of Godzilla handled the situation best. my vote goes with the pilot from tokyo SOS since, for largely the entire movie, they held their own and then finally let the real Godzilla take the reigns (which wasn't exactly their choice but whatever). the fact is Kiryu was meant to kill Godzilla, and in the first movie even though Kiryu got beat it didn't actually end the fight. it continued. in the second one, the fight was extended, Kiryu was kept under control most of the time, and finally was able to put the mustard on the situation, which it was inevitably going to fall to the original Godzilla to do that no matter who had control of the robot.

Akane and better character too.
Still, I like that both movies kind of went against the grain of the main character being the usual male pilot.

Id say Akiba was the better pilot in terms of battle skill. Not only was he beating Godzilla's ass, but he was having fun beating him too. In my honest opinion if youre having fun with what you do, youre the best
