Under the pure and clean starry night, a large mass washed up on the beach of Elan Island. Any native in the vicinity watched in shock as the cold waves crashed against the fur of the thing. As the moon dipped into the horizon, a large hand stretched out and clutched a fist full of sand.

Slowly the sun crept up into the sky as the light pushed away the dark. Warm rays of the sun hit fur as the being began to stir. A loud groan emanated from the thing, arms and legs stretched out as cool water tickled the being's toes. Eyes opened as the hairy creature slowly rose to his feet, humanoid, a giant primate.

The colossal ape scratched the back of his head as he grunted, his mouth opened wide to reveal flat, man-sized teeth and sharp canines, letting out a loud yawn that made the palm trees shudder. He was tired, his arms and legs ached as he lumbered across the beach, he had been swimming, swimming for what seemed like forever.

Bringing his hand to his face, the giant gorilla clutched his head as the memory of a gray fire-breathing dragon flashed through his mind. Growling, he could feel the welts and bruises under his fur, the pain occasionally reared its ugly head.

Taking notice of a pile of fruit, the giant ape pinched the fruits and picked them up, sniffing the fresh fragrance of food. Sticky juices rolled down his roman column sized fingers, dripping on the sand below. Stuffing his fingers into his mouth, the large primate purred in content as the fruit mashed against his teeth, the sweet juices slithered down his throat.

Looking down, the hairy ape grinned as he saw more piles of fruit leading inland. Hunger overrode caution as the gorilla lumbered past the foliage, suddenly, he found himself in a large clearing, human structures sprinkled across the land.

Before the gorilla knew it, humans poured out of the structures, bowing down and giving praise to the giant ape. "King Kong! … King Kong! ... King Kong!" The humans chanted, they knew the god of Faro, although they weren't quite sure why he was here, they still gave their respects. Practically the same as their own island deities.

King Kong, a name the ape recognized, he knew this was not his home. The ape scratched his head as he lumbered away from the humans, still chanting his name, the giant gorilla marched towards the towering, lush green mountains. Kong took in the crisp and fresh air, making his way deeper into the island.

Walking through a valley, Kong's ears twitched as he jerked his head up to a cliff, large boulders tumbled down the walls of the valley, Kong sidestepped to avoid being struck by the falling rocks. The colossal ape squinted his eyes as he caught a glimpse of a figure staring down on him, before it quickly vanished.

Brushing aside his concern, the barrel chested beast scaled a hill, standing atop a perch, overlooking the fields and mountains. Kong sat down as he looked out beyond the island, shimmering water as far as the eye can see. Already missing the taste of the sweet soma berry juice, his mouth salivated at the thought of the crimson juice in clay jars.

A loud snap disrupted the serene peace of the island, Kong twisted his body around as he glared at the jungle brush behind him. A large palm tree lay across the grass as the foliage rustled, Kong stood up as he moved in closer. At that moment, his eyes locked onto another pair, a high pitched whimper came from the jungle.

Jumping from the jungle, another giant primate landed in front of Kong. Thinner by comparison to the Faro god, the ape's tail swayed in the wind as his head cocked to the side, inching closer to King Kong. King Kong roared out as he puffed up his chest, the smaller monkey backing up as he whimpered.

Warning his fellow primate to back off, Kong snarled as he beat his chest. Hot steam escaped his nostrils as he glared at the giant monkey, however, at second glance, Kong knew that this ape was not fully developed. Realizing that he was dealing with a much younger ape, Kong relaxed himself.

It was surreal, Kong had never seen another ape like himself in a long time. The thinner ape fell on all fours, slowly inching closer, nudging forward a cluster of large mangoes. High pitch sounds escaped the giant monkey's mouth.

Bending over to pick up the fruit, Kong stuffed the food in his mouth. King Kong relaxed as he sat down, eyeing the large monkey. The smaller primate sat down as well and scratched his charcoal black fur. Conversing through their own foreign language, both apes went on for almost an hour.

From within the jungle, two pairs of eyes stared down the unsuspecting primates, forked tongues flicked at the air as they sunk into the dense foliage. Kong and the giant monkey left their perch, walking down to a nearby lake.

Kong inquired about whether or not he had been given a name by the humans. The smaller primate nodded and in his own tongue, told the story of his human friend Goro, and how they both shared the same name.

As they approached the pristine lake, Goro recalled the tale of him and his human friend taking care of one another, before the two of them were separated. Goro dipped his palm into the lake and scooped up a handful of fish. Gulping down the refreshing snack. Goro, one moment was traversing along the man made structures, then found himself here, being hailed as a god.

King Kong nodded, being placed into a similar situation himself. Both apes took turns feeding, gallons of cold water fell from their lips as they devoured a multitude of fish. Barely noticeable at first, the sound of rattling slowly filled the air, getting louder and louder. Goro gasped in shock, he screeched to Kong, both primates turned around swiftly.

Both island gods gazed upon the long, slithering forms of the two snake monsters. A giant rattlesnake that eyed both Kong and Goro, and a giant coral snake that assessed the situation. Both slowly circled around the gorilla and monkey, Kong beat his chest like a pair of drums as he roared a warning to the snakes. Goro meekly backed up until his back was against Kong's.

Rearing upward to meet the eyes of their quarry, the twin snakes moved like the waves of the ocean. Dubbed the 'demons of the jungle' by the natives, Rattler, the giant rattlesnake shook his tail as a display of intimidation. Yellowback, the giant coral snake stared at Kong with black, almost soulless eyes.

Goro growled, but Kong could hear the fear in his voice. The Elan Island god had so been caught up in following Kong that he failed to realize he had entered the twin snake's territory. Both parties didn't move, patiently waiting for the other to strike. The wait was not long. Yellowback lashed out, flashing her fangs at King Kong.

Like lightning, Kong swiftly clutched the back of the coral snake's head, fangs mere meters away from his face. Fumbling back a bit, Kong felt a mass wrap around his left arm, pressure slowly being applied to his hairy limb.

Rattler lashed out as Goro leapt back fearfully, the smaller monkey threw nearby rocks at the golden serpent. A few boulders bounced off the snake's hide, one rock managed to strike the rattlesnake's head, causing him to halt his advancement.

Feeling the pressure increasing on his still sore arm, Kong roared in fury as he leapt up and fell to the ground, slamming onto his arm with the coral snake wrapped around it. Yellowback loosened her grip on the ape, but held strong. With his free hand, the mighty ape pummeled the coral snake's skull with his fist.

Rattler shook his head as he regained his wits, lashing out again at the giant monkey. Goro let out a distressed screech as he too managed to grab the rattlesnake and prevent a nasty bite. Rattler snapped his jaws at Goro as he squirmed in the monkeys grasp, inching closer and closer to the primate's face.

Slowly wrapping around the monkey's legs, Rattler began to force the limbs together. Goro fell flat on his rear before trying to stand, but found it practically impossible, the snake had him pinned, and the serpent could sense the terror oozing out of the giant monkey.

Goro winced as he felt his legs slowly being crushed. A large hand reached out and grasped rattler, a loud roar echoed throughout the field, Kong was here. Goro realized what the older ape was doing, and began to squirm out of the rattlesnake's grip. Looking around, Goro spotted the still body of Yellowback in the distance.

Now free, Goro grabbed hold of the lower portion of Rattler. Both apes roared as they threw the golden snake across the field, slamming into the ground with a thud. King Kong and Goro began to throw rocks at the rattlesnakes, boulders bounced off the long cylindrical frame of Rattler.

When the snake ceased movement, Kong and Goro both sighed with relief. Both beating their chests proudly, oblivious to a familiar face behind them. Kong and Goro prepared to head back before Kong suddenly screamed in agony.

The giant ape fell to one knee as he gnashed his teeth, his eyes winced shut as tears were squeezed from his ducts. Goro leapt away in shock only to see what had brought the mighty god of Faro to his knees. Yellowback had returned, her fangs sunk into King Kong's hairy ankle.

Kong breathed heavily, tears rolled down his face as he tried to grab the coral snake. The pain was ungodly, like two super heated needles plunged into his flesh. Goro jumped at the snake and ripped the crimson, black, and yellow striped serpent away from Kong. King Kong bellowed another ear piercing roar as his head flung back, fists clenched tight.

Yellowback snapped at Goro who promptly threw her away hundreds of meters. Rushing to Kong, Goro tried to help him stand, the giant gorilla groaned as the pain shot threw his foot. Kong could feel the sweat trickle down his face as his body heated up.

Goro tried to help Kong escape while the giant coral snake recuperated. His heart sank when a rattling noise filled his large ears, glancing to his side, he saw Rattler, bloodied and bruised, slowly creeping towards him.

Dark clouds began to roll in, Kong glanced up, his vision began to blur occasionally. Looking back, he snarled as Yellowback was closing in from behind. Pushing Goro off of him, King Kong fumbled, but regained his footing, beating his chest. The smaller monkey looked at the gorilla, he admired his allies' will to fight, something he wished he had more of.

Rattler crept ever closer to Goro, revealing his fangs as he prepared to strike. The giant monkey did not dare take his eyes off the serpent, he knew that if he could not fend off the snake, his ally would surely perish. Goro prepared himself, ready to catch the snake.

Holding his hands out, Kong's breath was heavy as the striped snake grew closer. Lunging at the mighty ape, Yellowback bared her fangs as she was about to sink her fangs into Kong's hand. However, the Faro god rolled away in time, letting the snake face plant into the grass.

Goro wrestled with Rattler as he was forced to the ground again. This time the golden serpent wrapped around his waist, the rattlesnake squeezed tightly, Goro cried out as he felt himself being crushed again. The giant monkey felt the air forced out of him, but an idea sprang into his mind, tugging Rattler forward, Goro bit down onto the snake's body, shaking his head viscously.

Streams of blood flowed from the blunt bite marks, Goro bit down on the snake harder, feeling the serpent loosen his grip. Goro released his bite and yanked the snake off of him, screeching in a fury, the giant monkey spun around before throwing away the rattlesnake, this time disappearing over the jungle trees.

Huffing and puffing Goro looked back and watched as Kong squared up with Yellowback. King Kong could hear the thunder booming in the distance and groggily smiled. Yellowback prepared to lash out again, this time Kong refused to move.

Springing forward, Yellowback Opened her jaws wide ready to bite down on the giant gorilla. Kong raised his hand, a boulder concealed in his fist, the giant coral snake's jaws wrapped around the large rock. Kong uppercut the serpent's lower jaw with his free hand, shattering the snake's fangs.

Falling to the ground with a thud, Yellowback squirmed and writhed on the emerald green grass. Kong grabbed the wagging tail of the giant coral snake, spinning in place before letting the snake soar through the air. Kong watched as the striped serpent hit the waters of the beach in the far distance.

Goro called out to Kong, beating his chest lightly. Kong returned the gesture before tipping forward and collapsing to the ground. Kong's vision was blurry as doubles of Goro reaching out rapidly merged and separated, his vision engulfed by darkness. Rain began to fall, millions of water droplets washed over the island, Goro whimpered as he tried to wake the Faro god.

---

Days went by, Goro sat beside Kong in a spacious cave, he watched as the gorilla's stomach slowly rose up before sinking down. Goro watched intently as he noticed the giant ape begin to stir. A loud groan slipped through the hairy beast's teeth, his eyes slowly opened as the crust on his eyelids crumbled apart.

Sitting up, King Kong grabbed his head, he felt terrible, like he had drank too much soma berry juice. His skull throbbed as he wiped pools of sweat off his forehead, his whole body was sore. Kong layed back down, too exhausted. Kong glanced over to Goro, cracking a crooked smile.

Joy swelled up in the younger ape, hopping about as he watched Kong. The giant gorilla roared, the smaller monkey halted his celebration, respecting his allies request for peace and quiet. Goro explained to Kong how the humans fed him a purple drink in clay jars, the Faro god pondered if the drink was similar to the soma berry juice on his island. It didn't matter too much, it seemed like being an island god had its perks no matter where he went.

Eventually Kong tried to stand up, his joints popped as his muscles bulged, being put to work after days of stagnation. Kong breathed in and out as he felt the remnants of the bite on his ankle. The mighty ape fumbled a bit, pressing his calloused hand against the rocky walls of the cave, dragging it along the stone as he brushed the dust off it.

It was still cloudy, occasional rays of light kissed the dew on the lush green grass of the island fields. Kong inhaled greatly, the smell of rain filled his nostrils, finally he exhaled, looking about. Goro walked up beside him, admiring the beauty of it all.

Kong knew he would have to leave one day, he had too. His home was out there, he was close he could feel it. Goro placed a hand on Kong's shoulder, smiling up at the gorilla. Kong returned the gesture, both stared out the cave as the rain began to sprinkle outside. Both sat down and conversed with each other, enjoying the other's company.

Another great entry to the KWCE! A few grammar errors here and there, but other than that I'd say UltimateDitto put together another interesting work!
