If I have seen Seven Samurai and Godzilla, I am a true connoisseur of foreign cinema. I would know because I have Takashi Shimura in my avatar.

Absolutely awesome, again!

I have one tiny problem. The ....... between the names are a little annoying because they weren't in the original, but it's a different version, so I understand why you put them in.

Gojira, not sure what I can say about it that hasn't been said before. It's a film that is still very much prevalent today and is a standard for any Kaiju movie. I do think it's a bit silly for anyone to say that it must be at the top of someone's personal G films list, but it is an amazing film. Hope we get another film like it someday.

^ Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen. In todays world, everybody wants the perfect movie, but we rarely get that today. And besides, no movies perfect. And please, don't listen to critics. Everybody has different tastes, so each one is going to review a movie differently. Just sayin.

...has anyone here on TK ever thought about dubbing the original themselves? Like with volunteers?

Would be a neat little community project. I've done a little voice work before, it's a lot of fun

Be sure to speak with either fake Asian or mid-Atlantic accents though. You'd also have to break the film up into loops, which some parts of my script note.

Is it completely done or just the dub is done? As in is everything edited totally?

The movie is viewable from start to finish in English, so it's done.

Many of the Showa movies, as well as "The Return of Godzilla", are still avaliable on VHS. As for the rest, your best chance is to find some region free imports.

Use bootlegs and good trackers. The UK doesn't give a fuck about Godzilla.

DVD decryption has been a thing for like a decade. Srsly, fans make it seem like these films are the rarest freaking crap ever. They're not.

Saw the American dub recently. I never have seen the original Japanese version, but I can see it underneath all of Burr's inserted scenes and narration. My goodness though, this movie is a masterpiece in the Sci-fi genre.
