That Crawling Glove in All Monster's Attack

Post by KaijuSapian »

Okay, does anybody understand this? In japanese, I recall the hand mimicking a woman's voice screaming, "Ah! Thief!" or something like that. So why is it that in english, the hand says "Support your local police. Support you local police." ...I just don't understand this. When would a disembodied hand ever tell you to support the police? ....just..... I don't even....

It was Thing's first solo role after The Adam's Family ended.
Do you really think I'm that stupid?!

In the original I recall it saying "Thief Thief, Call the police!" or something like that. I guess the idea was that if someone tries to steal the glove, it would scare the person stealing it by saying it would call the police. As for the dubbing, who knows why these English companies change over half of what is really said in these films.
You know, Darth Vader cannot be Luke Skywalker's father. They don't have the same last name.

But....why would somebody want to steal a glove in the first place? :?

I always figured the voice was indicating the hand, as if the hand itself was "the thief."

I....always just thought it was a random toy the inventor made with a voice recorder inside, since the voice saying "Support your local police!" is (and I may be wrong...) Ichiro's, in the dubbed version at least. I assume he just recorded a message to be "cute".
