Ummade Films Discussion: Bride of Godzilla (1956)

Post by SonOfGorgo »

This thread's for those who wish to discuss and talk about the scrapped Godzilla film, Bride of Godzilla (1956).

Plot: Set after Godzilla Raids Again, the titular King of the Monsters and his arch-rival Anguirus return for a rematch. Meanwhile, a mad scientist named Dr. Shida creates a giant robot that resembles his late daughter. As the two Kaiju fight once again, Dr. Shida theorises that they came from far underneath the ocean floors, possibly in the centre of the hollow Earth.

Travelling there, he discovers many Godzillas, Anguiruses, and giant mermaids. Later, Godzilla & Anguirus then clash with a nameless giant chameleon and a giant archeopteryx (possibly an early version of Rodan). Eventually, Dr. Shida's massive folly, dubbed "Robot Daughter", is sent out to defend Japan from the monsters. She deals with the archeopteryx and the chameleon, defeats Anguirus by breaking his jaw, and appears to be resistant to Godzilla's Atomic Fire. Out of nowhere, for some strange reason, Godzilla then suddenly falls in love with the "Robot Daughter" and takes her to a cave to do who knows what. Just then, it turns out that "Robot Daughter" contains a timed hydrogen bomb ready to go off. As she lures him back to where he came from, she explodes, destroying the ecosystem and presumably Godzilla as well.

So what do you think of that? Please leave your thoughts, opinions, etc via comments down below.

There's already a thread for this film. Go to page 2.
The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.
