As Ghidorah has 3 heads, there are really just 3 characters of note, at least to me, here. The first is Shindo. Shindo is my favorite of the cops we see in various Toho sci fi films. He can be both serious and amusing, depending on the scene. He's also makes for a good hero. His interactions with his sister, Naoko, are convincing; They seem like they could be brother and sister.
Naoko was played by Yuriko Hoshi, who played Junko in M vs G. She again plays a reporter, but this time her character isn't playing sidekick status. She shows independence and drive.
Last is Princess Salno aka the Prophetess. Though the Prophetess character acts almost mechanically, she's an interesting person. She's also the central character here, driving the story and bringing all the people together. The Princess/Prophetess isn't as glamorous as some of the other roles Wakabayashi had, but it is memorable.

The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.
