How were the kaiju roars created?
We already know how Godzilla's roar was made, and Anguirus' roar was made with some sort of......what ever the hell this is. But what about Rodan,or Varan, or Gigan, etc.?
Godzilla - Fucked up double bass and resin-coated glove
Anguirus - Saxophone and/or Harmonica?
Rodan - Violin?
Maguma - Elephant?

Anguirus was a saxophone, I do believe. At least, that's what it sounds like to me. I think Rodan was a violin? I could be wrong, though. I also heard somewhere that Ghidorah was an organ. Mothra is just Anguirus at an extremely high pitch.

I think heard a little bit of harmonica in Anguirus' roars, and Mothra's roar is Anguirus' and Rodan's roars sped up.PRIMEVAL wrote:Anguirus was a saxophone, I do believe. I know Maguma's was some sort of elephant noise that was (obviously) edited.

I've heard that Gabara's roar was a modified horse.

Titanosaurus' roar is the one that's always eluded me.

Gigan's roar eludes me. Really want to know how that one was made.

Yes, as it was posted in the OP. Also seen it before and always assumed it was someone playing a saxophone of sorts.Godzillian wrote:Here is the unmodified Anguirus roarPRIMEVAL wrote:Anguirus was a saxophone, I do believe. I think it just might be a reversed and flanged version of Kamoebas's roar.KaijuFiend wrote:Gigan's roar eludes me. Really want to know how that one was made.

Ghidorah's roar sounds like an old-fashioned siren to me (maybe pitched a little bit higher)... in fact, I remember one of the showa Gamera movies having a siren go off that sounded exactly like Ghidorah (I can't remember which film, though).

...that's probably because they used his roar for that.Mechagigan wrote:Ghidorah's roar sounds like an old-fashioned siren to me (maybe pitched a little bit higher)... in fact, I remember one of the showa Gamera movies having a siren go off that sounded exactly like Ghidorah (I can't remember which film, though).

Are you sure you aren't mistaking a Gamera film for an Ultraman episode? The Science Patrol's telephone makes the same sound effect as the Showa Ghidorah cackle. I can't think of any Showa Gamera film with that sound effect.Mechagigan wrote:Ghidorah's roar sounds like an old-fashioned siren to me (maybe pitched a little bit higher)... in fact, I remember one of the showa Gamera movies having a siren go off that sounded exactly like Ghidorah (I can't remember which film, though).
I'd never considered this before but it sounds possible! Good ear.LegendZilla wrote:Gigan sounds like a flanged and reversed version of Kamoebas's roar.

I believe Titano contains some elephant components in its roar.

The roars of Titanosaurus are a combination of modified elephant trumpets and horse snorts.

Sanda’s roar is Kong’s roar mixed with Frankenstein and Gaira’s is clearly just Kong’s only much higher pitched.

Supposedly the audio is recording of a horse being milked for it's seamen because fun fact domesticated horses can't do the deed anymore without help.Maritonic wrote:
