A Space Godzilla

A Space Godzilla is a rumored unmade Showa Godzilla movie that was to be released in 1978-1979. It's nothing about the Crystal Addict you're thinking about, but rather a completely undiscovered species of Godzilla's on a different planet.
The story starts off with Godzilla washing up on some random beach shore in Japan, dead. It had appeared to have been killed rather violently by some kind of creature, having organs seeping out of it's body. Through tests, it is figured out that this Godzilla is actually female and is carrying her son, and both of them are not from earth.

Because Japan doesn't want more Godzilla's (in actuality, to bring them back home), Japan decides to launch the two back into space and they somehow end up back on their home planet. The baby embryo thing then hatches into a Baby Godzilla (MORE MINILLA FOR YOU'SE) and finds his father. The father then finds Gamora (whom I will now refer to as ConeBoobs) who is probably the killer of the Female Godzilla from earlier on an asteroid belt. He then proceeds to beat the living heck out of her.


So that was the unmade Toho film "A Space Godzilla". What did you think of it?
I personally think it would be a masterpiece loved by everyone. It tells the tale of where Minilla came from (obviously) and combines elements of both Son of Godzilla and normal Godzilla films together. ConeBoobs is a totally interesting kaiju and I'm sure she would get a lot of fans.

Honestly I feel I would not have liked this film. Glad the series ended at TOMG if this was the direction they were heading.

........ um, I've NEVER heard of this, nor have I ever gotten any hints as to it even being conceived.
It seems WAY to strange for me, I don't think I would have liked it at all. The combination of guts, gore, trippy space images (at least that's what space would look like in the pictures you provided), that really weird creature thing, and the fact that the mother Godzilla and child came from space, I would have NEVER liked it.

You'd probably be watching the movie in the theaters and then all of the sudden smoke comes in from the air ducts that gets you high enough that you can understand what is going on.

IIRC, this would've been helmed by Nobuhiko Obayashi, the director behind Toho's very own House/Hausu, which was beyond bizarre. I would've loved to have seen him do a Godzilla flick.

So basically, 2001: A Space Odyssey meets Godzilla? This definitely would have been something, though I'm not sure if that something would have been good or bad. The first official female Godzilla, the second film to feature a battle in space, and multiple Godzillas existing at the same time. Though the antagonist is an abomination, I'm glad we didn't see that on film. The franchise definitely needed that break it got.

Also, I'm curious how the human characters would have fit in after sending the Godzillas back to space. Would they have merely been observers?

The dead female Godzilla seems pretty saddening, and I can't say I dig cone boobs. But the concept itself is out of this world.

They could have tied it into the 1974-1975 aliens, which were already obsessed with making their perfect Godzilla. Anyway, this could have been completely crazy (in a good way).
