I stand corrected, akanes_kiryu. That's what I get for not thinking harder about my own argument.

Just heard back from one of my boys in Japan, and every source he found suggests that the first character is read as "oo," so it is, indeed, "Oocondor."
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

GINO vs The Giant Condor would be a fair fight and a good movie.

Funny, but so true!

I think they missed out on a great opportunity. They could of introduced the condor earlier - chasing the human characters.

That's a good idea. Perhaps have it fly over as our characters leave the cover of the jungle, and then run back to hide among the foliage.

Agreed. At least we would have some prior knowledge of the bird and its motives before it shows up out of the blue to fight goji.

I really loved this monster as a kid. Not entirely sure why I just loved him, for a weak monster he did at least manage to peck and claw the shit out of the Big G for a little while before it was killed. I don't mind seeing him return even if he's cannon fodder. Maybe like a flock of them lives on Monster Island or something.

We did. A whole movie was based around it. It was called "GINO".

edgaguirus wrote:The Condor does qualify as his only bird opponent, though. Godzilla has faced insects, reptiles, and mammals, but bird kaiju, in Godzilla or elsewhere, are few and far between. Besides the Condor and Litra, I can't think of any others.
There is Gappa, thoguh more of a combination of bird and reptile.

I can't really get a good look at it, I wonder if it has a comb or not, wich would mean it is male or female respectively. They toy doesn't seem to have one, so I guess female

Never thought too much about this thing. It shows up, makes a BIG mistake effing with Godzilla, Big G singes it like an overdone Thanksgiving Turkey, & it flies away. Probably died later.

Yeah, Condor bit the dust. No way that bird is surviving an atomic breath blast and a swim in the ocean.

Even if it survived being fried, the whole island went ka-boom soon afterwards. It sucks to be the Giant Condor.

I would have died laughing if after they used the Giant Condor stock footage in All Monsters Attack, they got out that overgrown turkey marionette to shoot a new scene with the bird flying out of the water and swooping up Minya

Not that strange. The squawk sounds like it should come from a bird. Besides, why waste a creative sound for it when it's film career is going to crash and burn.

If they kept King Kong in the film it would've made this scene even weirder
