Like the Showa series? No. I don't.............just kiddin I love it. While I can see why some hardcore Godzilla fans might look down on the series because of the "kiddy films" in the late 60's-early 70's but to me the Showa series (except GRA) is pretty fun to watch.

I liked the Showa series (GRA included) in the 50s and 60s. 70s were awful.

All you have to do is read a few comments in the Heisei threads to get a good idea of what Toho kingdom thinks of the Showa series I love the Showa era, my favorite of the three series...however. I feel this series suffers from " Nostalgia Goggles Syndrome " some of its fans go overboard with their praise of this one and judgment of the latter two.

Easily the best series. The only Showa films I find hard to sit through are Godzilla Raids Again, Monster Zero, and Godzilla's Revenge. But even then, those three movies have some redeeming qualities as well.

No run of films in the Godzilla series have better execution or greater raisons d'etre than the Showa films do. And none display quite so much energy on part of their filmmakers.
