This is definetly one of the weirdest ideas for a Godzilla movie ever.

This movie would have never made it in American sadly without a name change. I could imagine it being called Godzilla vs Hades or Diablo but not the Devil or Satan.
Mothra vs Godzilla> Gojira

The way I see it, the closest thing that we'll ever get to something like this is IDW's Godzilla in Hell...which I thought was very great, generally noteworthy for its well-thought out weirdness, if nothing else.

Ironically, I don't think Godzilla ever goes toe to toe with the devil in that series. Still a very fun mini-series, though.

I know that. I didn't say it was exactly like it, I said it was close. Besides, that hellish-looking creature in issue #5, again, sure looks like the closest thing to Satan in this case. I don't know, what do you think?

OK, I didn't know that part. But again, not exact, just close-close enough for all practical purposes. Also, I remember seeing somewhere that it was said that if Godzilla vs. the Devil had been a real project and if Toho had made it exactly as the story was described, it would've bankrupted them for sure.
