Those puppets look real nice. Should've been recycled for a Godzilla children's show or something.

Really cool stuff BioBagan.

Puppets were never great in the Showa series (excluding Rodan). I always thought the puppet scenes in the 1954 Godzilla especially didn't splice well. The rest of the movie is so perfectly serious, and then all of a sudden this... thing that has a passing resemblance to the real suit but none of the charm pops up and almost destroys the tension. Maybe I'm being a bit too hard, but it's really the only flaw in an otherwise perfect film.

But yeah, after Biollante Toho really stepped up their game. Godzilla actually moved his tongue!

I would not call that King Kong puppet nice looking.

Not saying that they're perfect, but the puppets have a bit of charm to them sometimes. While they could have resembled the actual suit a little more, I'm rather fond of the ones used in the original film. The worst shots (off the top of my mind) are either Godzilla and King Kong from King vs. Godzilla or Rodan from Ghidrah.

I really hate Showa Rodan's in Ghidorah....... especially the fight scene.....
I agree. That puppet and the Godzilla one really took me out of that movie. The suits made up for it at least.

The dorats were a smart addition to the storyline, it's just......... make them more dragon-like. Only complaint with that movie.

Oh yes, as a story element, their great. As a design element, I want to gauge my eyes out. I just can't stand the look of the damn things.
