When Yano shows Yukio and Miki the Hedorah findings under the microscope, he says that the white substance in Hedorah's body, which he calls Hedorium, is the life blood of the monster. My guess, from the way Godzilla looked at him laying there and the zoom, is that those were his hearts (white organs of some kind anyway) and Godzilla heard them beating.

For me will have to be Terror of MechaGodzilla. The people mocked the scientist who claimed a dinosaur living at the bottom of the ocean saying he was crazy and that dinosaurs don't exist. Meanwhile Godzilla and his merry league of monsters have been tearing up Japan for the last twenty years.

Yeah, I'm speaking from the american dub. I have yet to see the japanese version though. But the mind control experiments was mentioned but it was more like more fuel to the fire to call him crazy.
