If I may point out the irony here, the Xillians are probably THE iconic Godzilla aliens, and in a similar vein the Kiilaks fit the bill in what is stereo typically a Godzilla alien pretty well. The Simians are just bloody memorable for their special effects, their BAD-A robot monster, and all the blood splatters (which is a big reason I love em so much). But in the end they're all rather boring as far as motive, silly as far as everything, and pointlessly remorseless (though the Simians, as I pointed out, are a load of fun from start to finish. Whipping those guys before scalding them to death in the execution room is a serious win!).

But the most INTERESTING of the alien species is probably the Nebulans (which as of now have 0 votes). Peace through genocide, taking life from those less responsible with it, saving the earth, and being a literal superior species as far as ability to survive are all EXTREMELY interesting ideas. Plus they body snatch and build corporations and so on. Perhaps if the story had been more streamlined, less jarring, and they had cut out the LOADS of stock footage and so on - you know, just really tightened that film up - they might be more popular among this particular crowd.

HONESTLY though, my favorite monster-controlling humanoids are the Seatopians. Godzilla vs Megalon's plot (PLOT, not really the execution OF that plot) just SCREAMS Lovecraftian horror and philosophy, with a mecha-twist that I really just can't stop my fascination over. Plus, gotta love Mark Jackson from Dogora playing that hairy emperor. If that isn't classic grindhouse magic, I don't know what is.

Other than the Kilaaks, there isn't anything special about the other races. The villians are your typical "bad guys", just like you would see in an old movie serial.

Not that the Kilaaks are so great, but they are the most "alien". They aren't your typical alien shooting guns at the humans. There is something mysterious about them, and they use force fields to protect themselves.

ProfessorBeats is on to something with the Seatopians. They did show signs of desperation. Are they really evil? When you think about it, its us humans who are evil, destroying this beautiful planet,

If all of the women looked like Miss Namikawa, I'd be okay with that.

Or the Mysterians, Natarl, and Garoga.
Q: Will we see that monster that Bryan was going to reveal this morning at the press conference?
Cranston: Oh yeah! The only Godzilla movie with an X-rating.

Easily the Xiliens. The Controller has some of my favourite Godzilla-related quotes ever.

Not to rock the boat, But I'm going with the Mysterians.
They were the only race to go all out battling the Earths military forces.

As well as the Natarl from Battle in Outer Space. ;)

But the Mysterians have Moguera, which is awesome.

Simians. I mean, they're hilarious! Seriously, blue apes in silver jumpsuit who bleed black blood and come from a planet being swallowed into a black hole. Even in Terror of Mechagodzilla, when the ape suits weren't in play, I just about doubled over every time one of them came on screen. From Mugar's evil smile and sunglasses to the RIDICULOUS hats, the simians are the most crazy and fun alien race to ever grace the Godzilla series.

As far as the four listed i would have to go with the Xilians. They are the most recognizable (to me anyway). However, my favorite toho race would have to be the Mysterians.

Simians, easily. I'd love for them to make a comeback with an updated look. I thought it was really neat when they made an apperance in the Dark Horse Godzilla comics and remain among my favorite alien races in the Toho universe. My second favorite would be the Kilaaks.

It is a fancier title than the one word monikers. Or maybe you have a thing for roaches?

My favorite invaders of the Showa Era are the Xiens and the Nebulans, as both races are smooth operators. While the former had a rather goofy sense of style, I liked their back-story and how they behaved (especially the Controller). The Nebulans had an interesting back-story too but a little less going for them in terms of technology and execution of plans (no security?).
